Cozy Mountain Cabin in Massanutten Resort. L2 EV Charger onsite

Welcome to the Red Fox Den, a great family-friendly home in Massanutten Resort.
This house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac and has a secluded and wooded back yard that can be enjoyed from the back deck. Relax in a comfortable house with wifi and smart tv or enjoy some family time playing pool (mini kid table), Atari games, or board games.

We have 3 bedrooms. 1 king with bathroom, 1 queen. And one room with a bunk-full bed on top for kids under 100 lbs, and a queen bed on the bottom. We welcome well behaved pets for fee of $75. Damages are subject to inspection and charge.

The area is full of hiking, biking, exploring, historical landmarks, breweries/ wineries, skiing, golf, water park, go karts, and so many more minutes from the house.

There’s a garage place to store your skis/snowboards, bicycles, or just to hangout to play games. There is a 2 player basketball arcade game in the garage.

Other things to note

The house is about 2 miles from the top of the mountain where you will find the ski slopes, snow tubing, the family adventure park, and more. There are 4 playgrounds within a 3-4 mile radius, some with picnic pavilions and gas or charcoal grills available. There are numerous tennis courts around the resort as well. The house is located less than 3 miles from the indoor/outdoor water park that is open year-round. At the resort, there are also multiple bars and restaurants. There are also a number of local bars and restaurants in the nearby town(s)! You will also find numerous wineries and breweries in the local area within a 30-minute drive.

We are not part of the Massanutten Resort. For booking of resort activities, please visit their website for information.
Pets are allowed for a fee of $75.
20 min drive to JMU. Great for JMU events, family week, and graduations! The garage also has a 60amp L2 Electric Vehicle charger

Time away

Had a three day weekend just husband and I. Had a wonderful time resting in this beautiful house after busy day of visiting family. Got our laundry done in our down time so came home with all clean cloths. Didn't use the stove or grill but had everything there if needed. Highly recommended.

We really liked that the property had most things we needed for a friends wknd with a good amount of cooking (and appreciated the good toilet paper!) The basement gameroom is a great bonus. A little disappointed in the cleanliness of the deck/windows (could use a good power wash), and one of the couches smelled so strongly of deodorizer I couldn't sit on it.

This split-level home was the perfect getaway setting for our family of five! The mini-pool table, game room and basketball game were great for the drizzly days Close to all the amenities of Massanutten Resort - we enjoyed the gokarts and putt-putt, escape rooms and the waterpark, too! The quiet cul-du-sac was at the bottom of a gentle slope - perfect for the kids to play on bikes, scooters and skateboards, without worry of traffic. The kitchen was a good size and well-equipped with all we needed. The owners provided dog bowls and a few toys - assuring us they weren’t just “dog friendly”, but dog lovers! There was a herd of deer that came through the backyard each morning - we enjoyed watching the wildlife (squirrels and birds, too) while sipping on our morning coffee Delightful location and layout: The high-speed internet and TV for movie night with the fam - spread out on the two large (and comfortable!) sofas was perfect after a day at the waterpark. Later, the full/queen bunk beds for the younger boys, the second br w a queen bed for the older teen plus the king-sized master w full bath was exactly what we needed to rest and relax. Thanks, Duane, for being so easy to communicate with and for providing a wonderful place for our family to spend spring break!

Family Weekend After House Fire!

We sustained smoke damage to our home and had to find a rental fast. In my haste and upset, I booked the wrong dates. Duane was very helpful in correcting my mistake and working with me. He was very responsive. Overall, the property was ideally sized, clean, welcoming, and the price point was amazing compared to hotels in the area. Our dog loved the property as well.

Comfortable and clean

Everything we needed. Clean, comfortable beds, rec room with toys. Could have used a few more towels since the water park doesn’t provide them. Kitchen was well supplied and we cooked most of our meals there. No fenced in yard but a nice neighborhood to walk the dogs in.

Fun Winter Escape

Lovely home for my family of five plus dog to enjoy a winter getaway. Lots of fun for the kids and very good accommodations for all of us. We'd like to come back sometime in the summer.

Snowboarding Vaca

Great location for access to the slopes. Clean and well stocked with all necessary items to make the stay very comfortable. During a snowstorm, the host was kind enough to check-up on us to see if all was good and had all the necessary items to weather the storm. Highly recommend this place to family and friends.

The Fox Den is awesome!

We stayed at this very nice house at the Massanutten Resort to attend a function at JMU. Harrisonburg is a short distance away and so were many nice restaurants. The house was very clean and well equipped. The owner was very helpful and kind. All things considered, this was an excellent place to stay. Very highly recommended.

Beautiful Virginia Getaway!

My husband, adult children, and I stayed here to attend a Thanksgiving celebration with extended family. The house was very clean and had plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable. Communication with the owner was great. I would definitely stay here again!

Convenient location, great for getaway

Came up to Massanutten for a fling golf trip. Needed an extra day and they accommodated. Additionally arrived early, and they also accommodated. Great WiFi, and living setup. In unit laundry was nice to have. Game room setup with video games was nice touch. No large cleaning requirement. Halfway between both courses was ideal for our stay. Bedrooms had lots of blankets and plenty of pillows, water pressure was good and water was hot instantly. Everything was super clean. Would recommend.

Great place to stay

My family and I came up here for a 3 day weekend. The place was great. It was clean, there was plenty of room for everyone, and it was close to everything we planned on doing. We saw so many deer the few days we stayed here. I would definitely recommend it.

We had a great time at this house. Awesome location close to attractions and National Park but still in a quiet neighborhood. We saw deer quite a few times. All of our questions were answered immediately. Perfect house for my family and small dog.
