This was our second time staying here. It is a cozy, comfortable studio. We enjoyed the area hiking this time. It is also a wonderful place to kayak or canoe on the Chain of Lakes.We will be back again.

We had a great stay. Property was as described. It was a perfect size for myself and my husband with our 10 year and our lab. Our son and dog loved the wooded property and the walk up to the fire pit. The adults were happy to find we could drive our truck up very easily to bring chairs, cooler etc-if not it is a (beautiful) but longer walk. it was a fall fishing trip for us and the house was perfectly situated between all the lakes we wanted to get to. Beautiful private setting and the home was clean and stocked with linens. We will likely make this our stay for our trip next year as well!

This place was great and a perfect spot for a getaway to Torch Lake! It was modernized and loved the lighting features. The bathroom and shower was pretty cool too. The iron work designs with some of the decor was also pretty neat as well.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We were not at the property much. Good communication with the host. check in and out was easy. Coffee maker , k cups as well as creamer was much appreciated. Beautiful bathroom and washer and dryer worked well.

Cute and comfortable for a week exploring the area. Really appreciated having a kitchen, lighted closet, and laundry available. And that the lights were on dimmers to adjust as needed. Endless hot water with a rain showerhead was just what was needed after a long day. AC worked well. Really have no complaints!

It was a nice stay! Perfect amount of space for what we needed! And it was in a great area! A bit of a warning, there is no tv but there is wifi if you bring a tablet or laptop.

Lovely Little Stay

Loved our stay at the Forge. Was comfortable and well accommodated with a great location to explore from! Easy communication with the host as well.

Communication with the hosts was outstanding and easy. The place was very well kept, super clean. We wished the coffee maker was bigger and that there were spare linens for the fold-out but the washer/dryer was nice to have. The air unit was quiet and seemed to keep the place regulated. Directions on how to do remotes were not there, but we figured things out. Our biggest wish was that the fire pit was closer to the place, like maybe in the ground, but we understand the owners not wanting to be responsible for fires and such. (Up the hill was too far for us.) The Torch Lake Cafe was a great asset and the location was very convenient. There really wasn't anything we couldn't figure out, but if you do have questions, reach out to the hosts and they'll be respond very quickly. Access to the lake for swimming was not what we prefer, but it is do-able, just a five minute walk to boat access where one can also enter to swim. Thank you!

Woodsy Escape

My husband and I had a great stay and really enjoyed having a quiet place in the woods to relax after exploring the Traverse City area. There’s a fire pit on the property that’s uphill from the house that was nice to sit around in the evening.

Cozy Get away!

Cute property! Very cozy accommodations. Loved the finishes and the retro kitchen appliances. Wonderful, quiet location. Perfect for a couple’s trip.

Great Studio Apt

Very clean & private setting. Comfortable bed & sleeper sofa. Step- in shower. Pet allowed. Be sure to take hike up the hill for sitting around a fire pit. Eat at Torch Lake Cafe for delicious food & great service!

Beautiful location. Drove from Ohio to northern Michigan on a weekend getaway for Labor Day weekend. We drove 10 hours overnight and were looking for a place to stay to explore the nearby dunes and pictured rocks farther north. We did not stay in the lodge too much as we were out and about, but the property had everything you need with cooking utensils and also a fire pit that was nice for a campfire at the top of the hill. The only thing that we experienced that was an issue was the check-in.

Great getaway

Perfect place up north for a couple. Only suggestion is getting a king size bed and a second night stand. There's plenty of room for it.

The Forge is nice.

Very nice place. Everything was clean and tidy. It has a very minimal kitchen so don’t plan on making any elaborate meals. Other than that it was perfect for our needs for a weekend stay to attend a wedding. Would def stay again for a similar situation.

Unique Studio Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at The Forge. It’s interesting to see the architecture of a cord built room and the light from all the windows is really lovely. The kitchen is cute and efficient and it was very clean. It rained while we were there and the patter of rain on the roof was very soothing. We’ll definitely be back! It was a great location for running thru several little towns and visiting nearby orchards.

Great gem!

My boyfriend and I were very happy with our stay! Communication was quick and efficient. The house was perfect for a long weekend; all of the detail made it cozy and inviting. Proximity to the lake was a nice perk. The surroundings were peaceful. They do have basic kitchen items. The towels are nice, it’s nice that they have shampoo in case you forget yours. If you’re a boater, the driveway is perfect for parking and easy in and out. Would definitely stay again!

Check-in was seamless once I found the keypad. It was dusk and I expected a keypad with raised numbers on the door. My fault! This is a lovely place to stay. The kitchen had all the essentials. Keurig coffee maker. I loved the feel of being in a log cabin! The rocks in the walls are a nice addition. My husband, a rock hound, loved the bathroom and shower floors! Beautiful and well-maintained. Pet friendly!DNR kayak and boat launch is about 5 minutes away on Torch Lake.

Wedding weekend

My husband and I stayed in this cute cozy place for a wedding weekend in Central Lake. It is very true to its listing and is a basic studio that had what we needed for the weekend. 2 things to note if you’re renting - the coffee pot is a Keurig and we needed to pick up pods which was fine (Dollar store). Also the listing is clear there isn’t a hair dryer and that is in fact the case. :). Enjoy this lovely area!!
