This is a great property! We had a family reunion with a range of ages (18 months to 79 years old) and RVR was a perfect location. The pool was great for all ages and everyone loved visiting Lily, Tito, the bunnies, chickens and goats. The hosts (Aaron, Kim and Chris) were great—very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area resources.

My family enjoyed this property so much. We stayed in all three houses - the main house, farm house and bunk house. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the animals. Chris and Kim were great hosts and we found pleasant little surprises almost everywhere we turned.The pantry and refrigerators had the basics - plenty of spices and condiments.The decorations were really well done

Beautiful ranch for our large family retreat that is all about enrichment. The gated pool with jackets for the kids and a chaired sun deck, a covered porch with fire-pit for evening chats, large game room for all ages, board games, Mario consoles, billiards, and skee-ball, a lovely pickleball court lighted for night time matches while kids are asleep! Besides the comfortable beds for 23 of us, and a well-equipped large kitchen, top-of-the-line appliances, seating in all open spaces for our extended family, this home is simply inviting, clean and spacious, a delightful vacation spot. The farm animals added to our grandkids fun, as they petted friendly Dolly and Tito, and gathered eggs from the chickens nesting perches. Kim and Chris were always available for any questions, they truly go the extra mile and are superior hosts! We will definitely return for next family reunion!

We were a party of fourteen, including eight adults and six children, coming from Pennsylvania and Michigan. The Rockin' View Ranch is absolutely delightful, and lived up to, and even exceeded, all the glowing reviews we read. Every little detail was perfect, from the quality of the linens and towels, to the furniture, to the bluetooth system for listening to music (and Phillies games!) out by the pool. They even provided the graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bars for S'Mores made on the firepit out by the pool. The decor was charming, with whimsical touches everywhere. There are three different buildings, and we mostly congregated in the largest, the ranch house, but the older children and a couple of adults loved having their own spaces in the farm house and the bunk house. The children loved taking our watermelon rinds and strawberry cuttings and other fruit and vegetable scraps to the chickens, who in turn provided us with fresh eggs every morning for breakfast. The hosts were very responsive, though we had little to ask them about, because everything was so organized. We all hated to leave! It was a perfect vacation, and we're talking about going back sometime.

Family Retreat ( 18 ! )

Compound with 3 houses, everything well laid out. MIni Zoo a real treat for the little kids, pool was a big hit, and covered area at pool was great. Lots of room in the big house for entire family of 18 for meals and gathering.

Amazing stay!

We had such a great time at this epic location, with so many activities to do on sight we did not have to leave at all. We loved the pickle ball court, so fun! I suggest this to any group that wants to have fun and able to enjoy both inside and outside. I give it a five super star rating!!!

Perfect all ages getaway

We had a small family reunion of 17 from ages 2-85 and had plenty of space. Wonderful property. Just fyi the bunk house and the farm house are close togther but both are a walk uphill/downhill from the main property. Also heating the pool was an extra significant cost, seemed high, but it was well worth it! Great stay overall.

Awesome Property for a Large Group

Our team of 13 stayed at the Rockin' Ranch and had a great time - we ventured into San Diego a few times, but you could be easily entertained on the property as is! Kim & Chris were friendly, responsive and super helpful, and maintain a beautiful property with comfortable beds, fast wifi, and a well stocked kitchen. And there was even delicious fresh banana bread in both houses when we arrived!!

Hall Family

We had a large group of 25 family members. Had a great time at this property for 5 days. Close to activities, and great activities at the property. Great amenities, and very nice extras from the owners, like fresh baked bread upon arrival, and nice bathroom extras. Plenty of towels for everyone. THX Kim!! ps, so fun to play pickleball!!!

Epic Desert escape!

We had up to 25 family members gather over 5 days and 4 nights to celebrate a 90th birthday. The place was perfect. All spaces were way bigger/better in person than in the listing photos. The animals were a big with young and old attendees :) The pool was perfect. Good water temp for all. The added amenities were over the top. We lacked nothing! We would go back in a heart beat or recommend to friends.

An Amazing Experience

I had a family reunion-style wedding and my vision came alive at this place! There was plenty of space for everyone, we weren't stacked on top of each other and there was plenty to do! We hope to return again and relive the most memorable week of our lives. There's so much to do that our six year old's tablet never got picked up the whole time we were there! Kim was a wonderful host and so friendly to all of us. We just loved her! 10/10 would highly recommend!

Best Family Reunion Location

We stay at a lot of short term rentals and this property was by far the best yet! The three different houses and large property made it perfect for our extended family. They anticipated our every need with homemade banana bread, snacks, hair ties and games. The kids loved feeding and petting all the animals. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they have added a pickleball court and skee ball since the pictures were submitted online. It was very easy traffic wise to get to Sea World, the beach and Balboa Park, it only took 30 minutes and was well worth the drive to be at such a resort location. The hosts gave us a personal tour upon arrival and responded promptly to any questions. They are friendly and generous and you can tell they have made it their mission to provide an incomparable vacation experience. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Best Vacation Ever! Hosts were generous with all the additional perks! We arrived to homemade banana bread, a tray of fixings for s’mores, pool toys, and games galore, even squish-mallow animals and trucks for the kids. Amazing vacation that felt like a family resort where parents can truly relax! A few hiccups were handled professionally and quickly. This ranch is beyond 5 stars. For a family with 14 grandkids, it’s hard to feel everyone is having fun, but here we definitely did. The green lawns were perfect for outdoor games. The pickleball court was enjoyed by all! Pool billiards kept the adults competing. Even a Scrabble game on the wall was super fun for our nerdy adults. Swimming pool was so refreshing, solar heated! Our kids gathered eggs often from their happy hens. I am so very thankful to have found this Estate. Perfect in so many ways for our large family reunion. Highly recommend!

Great family resort!

If you’re looking for a place for a family vacation look no further. Our group of 17 were from ages three months to 91 years old. There was something for everyone. The farm animals were the biggest hit with the little kids as well as the pool and the spa. I can’t say enough about the owners their responsiveness and their attention to details. They made you feel instantly welcome with homemade banana bread, little notes and such beautiful touches. The home Is absolutely gorgeous. Nothing is missed here. From a well stocked kitchen to pool toys to activities for everyone you do not even need to leave the property. All one level which is so important for older people and small kidsDon’t miss out. We will definitely be back. So much room there , the attention to detail in the homes was fabulous. Be kind and respectful to the property for it is well worth it.

FABULOUS

This was by far my favorite VRBO home rental experience. The owner met us at the house, and when she opened the door all you could smell was homemade banana bread. Yes, she had just pulled some banana bread out of the oven for us to snack on. The first thing I saw upon entering this gorgeous home is a stunning, huge, beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Wooohooo! This home has so much to offer for everybody in the family, from the animals, to the game room, to the massive seating area in the family room for all to gather. The owner was very attentive, anytime we reached out she responded right away. She told us about some yummy restaurant options, as well as some great activities in San Diego. All in all a fabulous experience. oh, and one more thing, getting to have fresh eggs from the chicken coop every morning was a bonus! Thank you Kim!

Perfect for family gatherings!

We stayed at Rockin' View Ranch to celebrate my daughter before she left for the Air Force Academy. Our extended family, ages 7-84, had so much room to enjoy each other! The themed bedrooms were so fun... my daughter had fun assigning everyone a room. Our teens and young adults enjoyed The Farm House and The Bunk House. The pool table and shuffleboard table in the game room were big hits! The pool and hot tub were great with the hot weather. The blackstone was much loved by my husband and brother in law. The massage chair in the master bedroom was awesome. Thoughtful touches like phone chargers in each room were great. I feel like we didn't have enough time to enjoy all the perks on this property. This is one of the very few places that I found that allowed us to have a party for my daughter. We did have to notify them before we booked and there was a small fee involved but it was totally worth it! We would absolutely book this property again! Kim and Chris are great hosts!

Over the top! So many great things to say about this place. Kim has thought of everything, particularly when it comes to kids (of which there were several in our group). There are games and activities galore, from board games to yard games to pool toys to a pool table, to other game equipment in the large "game" room. The animals on the property were a hit, particularly the bunnies and the egg-laying hens. Who could ask for more? For the adults, most of our time at the house (summer) was spent outdoors in the shade, next to the pool. We enjoyed all of our meals outdoors. The house is well stocked with many kitchen appliances, plenty of dishes and flatware, tons of spices, so many utensils. Nothing is forgotten. Everyone was satisfied with the sleeping arrangements. Most days, people traveled into San Diego for activities (museums, zoo, etc.) and the 30-minute drive was not too burdensome. Finally, Kim is an accommodating and responsive host, and she made all of us feel welcome and comfortable. Rockin' View Ranch rocks.

It was wonderful

Everything was easeful, the hosts are very helpful and accommodating. They really did everything they could to set the space for our large group of 17. The one thing I would do differently next time would be to just book the minimum number of people allowed. We anticipated 25, so we booked and paid for that. We only had 17 and I have not received a refund yet for around 1200.00. ~ this is coming from VRBO but the extra fees were fees the hosts charge for their extra costs per person. If I had booked the minimum and just added the fees at the time of check in then I would not need to wait a refund from VRBO. Just for reference it's been over 2 weeks and I haven't heard any updates. All that being said it felt luxe and it it was quiet, we had plenty of space the property is beautiful and the Kim and Chris went out of that way to respond to many questions and requests that we had.

We understand your frustration in trying to get your refund for the extra guest fee. When I decreased your guest count before you checked in, VRBO never recalculated and adjusted your total. Both times I spoke to customer service regarding the refund they informed me that they will correct their mistake, but it will take up to six weeks. I will continue to follow up with them as well and am confident they’ll make things right. Thanks again!

Best VRBO/House Share I've stayed in Ever! (and I've been to ALOT)

I have traveled to relatively high amount of places, and have stayed in several different house sharing locations across multiple platforms, in multiple countries for several years now. (upwards of 200+ in last 8-10 years) I have NEVER been to a place that has exceeded my expectations at this level. I was there for a bachelor party/work trip/birthday party/other with a large group of friends and could NOT have asked for a better place to stay. There are animals onsite that are super friendly (not to mention cute! -- we miss Tito and Lily) that you can actually interact with and feed! The pool is incredible and the pictures don't do it justice! Not only were the amenities themselves were beyond what I expected but the real treat was the level of thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and hospitality that Kim and Chris (hosts) gave to the stay. She baked us fresh baked goods as well as had a Happy Birthday sign up! Not only that, but the logical layout of the things that are needed when you're staying in a homeshare were literally perfect. Such as trash locations, with signs, dried goods in the pantry, plenty of cookware, etc! They thought of literally everything. I probably sound like I'm related to them or this is a fake review -- THIS IS NOT! I've already started plotting my return to this place as it was truly a stay of a lifetime! If you're considering a larger homeshare for a getaway -- don't hesitate, this is the one! Thanks again Kim and Chris!

You are crazy if you don't book this listing!

This property is amazing!! I just don't know where to start. I had originally booked it because of the farms animals and the size. We had all 6 of our kids, their significant other and 8 grandkids. There was more than enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. One of the things that impressed me the most, beside the awesome host's, is how well everything was stocked. They really have thought of everything. They added a new pickleball court, we had a few tournaments. The pool and hot tubs perfect. The game room was a blast for all ages. Some retro machines. It was so many laughs. The farm animals were amazing, they loved their treats and attention. Tito and Lily are my two favs! I could go on and on about them. The fresh eggs, what a bonus. Kim and Chris met us at the house when we got there to walk us through everything, and they also had a book with everything which was very handy. The city/county scheduled a 30 minute power outage in the middle of the night, Kim relayed to as soon as they let her know. The next day the pool lights did not kick on because of this. I Sent a text and within 15 minutes of the first text Chris was there to reboot it. I really could go on and on but seriously the host's are wonderful, the property was beyond what I had expected and the animals topped off the best week ever. You will not be disappointed!!
