Nestled between the new bakery and the community garden on 2nd Street, this enchanting cottage places you just steps away from local favorites—launch your kayak from the park or drop your boat in the marina, browse the island’s fun shops, or enjoy fresh seafood and dolphin sightings along Dock Street.

It was beautiful inside very spacious and homey with the antiques. It was very well Air conditioned and the ceiling fans amazing( where did you get the ones in living room - I live in 1885 home). Loved the balcony off the bedroom, although it’s quite hot right now. You are very close to downtown 2 nd street where everything is! Loved staying there, very quiet!

Perfect place for our girls birthday trip. Beautiful home with everything we needed. Because of the cold snap we didn't get to use the "compass patio" but maybe next time. We rented a golf cart right across the street and explored the whole key. Bakery next door was closed on Tuesday and sold out of most things by 10 when we checked out, so get there early! Wonderful trip.

Lovely little cottage

We have been visiting Cedar Key for years and have always peeked at the gorgeous little courtyard when we'd pass by. So excited to finally have had the opportunity to stay there ourselves. Perfectly clean, well stocked, and just so lovely inside.

This home could easily be 5 stars with some work. Dripping faucet, unable to drink the water, back door not locking, furniture stained, porches filthy, kitchen faucet wobbly etc. The home itself is charming. Needs landscaping work and a good cleaning.

Amazing Home in the Perfect Location!

Our party of four absolutely loved this beautiful home! It was so peaceful, but right in the heart of town, right next to the adorable community garden. We especially loved hanging out on the covered porches, both upstairs and down. The home is so full of fun details. Very comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen, fire pit, and so much more. Would definitely stay again! We love Pelican management--Mendy and Caryn are fab!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Bridges Cottage in Cedar Key, Florida! From the moment we arrived, this charming place felt like stepping back in time in the best possible way. The vintage style of the cottage is just perfect—beautifully maintained with authentic character, cozy furnishings, and so many thoughtful details that made it feel like a true home away from home.We especially loved the wonderful outside spaces, which were perfect for relaxing with morning coffee or evening drinks while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The fenced yard, patio, and porches were an absolute highlight—our three dogs had a great time exploring and playing safely in the fresh air. The ultra modern kitchen was a fantastic surprise—fully equipped with high-end appliances and plenty of space, making meal prep effortless and enjoyable.The 4th of July decorations were fantastic and really added to the festive spirit of our trip! The festive touches throughout the property made the holiday weekend extra special and memorable.A huge thank you to Johnny and Stephanie for all their efforts in making our stay so enjoyable. Their attention to detail, helpful recommendations, and warm hospitality truly went above and beyond. We felt incredibly welcome and cared for the entire time (and our pups did too!).We can’t recommend The Bridges Cottage enough—it’s a hidden gem in Cedar Key. We’ll definitely be back!

Post hurricane

Wanted to revisit Cedar Key after the hurricane last year. Was pleased to see the community is recovering nicely. Lots of repair work going on, but the community is basically intact. The property was well taken care of and is easily accessible to the pier, beach and restaurants. The property is well-maintained and very nice. Wound up being a perfect choice for us.

Our Go To Place in Cedar Key!

The Bridges Cottage is a great place to stay for families or just a couple wanting a relaxing stay in Cedar Key in the heart of town. The home is located right in the middle of all the amenities that Cedar Key has to offer. Park your car because everything you'd want to do is right outside your doorstep. Grab breakfast at the 2nd Street Cafe just across the street, or dinner and drinks at the Island Hotel next door. A new bakery has opened right next to the house for an afternoon donut or ice cream. The park and beach are directly across the street. The Bonish Bar is 2 blocks away for your evening cocktail. The Bridges Cottage itself is a beautiful Old Florida home. The large front porch has ceiling fans and comfortable couches for lounging and watching the world go by. The hardwood floors and cypress walls inside will make you feel like a local. The living room is large enough for the whole family to relax and tell tall fishing tales or play a board game. The kitchen is large and has plenty of cookware to fry up your catch of the day and have a family meal. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable. This is a real home and you will feel at home here. We stay at the Bridges Cottage 3-4 times a year. It never disappoints!

The cottage is conveniently located in the middle of 2nd St, in downtown Cedar Key. The house was a quaint historical two story home with balconies on both floors, and an outdoor patio space with a fire pit. It was a lovely home with a great mix of old and new elements. I would recommend highly.

Johnny & Stephanie Cedar Key holds a very special place in our hearts. It isn't just where our business is located; it is the backdrop to our lives, our family, and our community for the past decade. Our Roots on the Water Our journey here began as marine biologists. Stephanie started her work at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) building by the Channel 4 bridge in 2015, and Johnny joined her in 2016. For almost nine years, we pulled in thousands of nets and counted/measured hundreds of thousands of fish to help preserve these precious local resources for future generations. While working full-time for the FWC, we simultaneously built a house in Bronson and earned our Master's degrees in Fisheries Science. We are no strangers to complex, dynamic workloads! After our time with the FWC, we both took positions with the University of Florida's Nature Coast Biological Station (NCBS), deepening our connection to the area's incredible ecosystem. Growing Our Family & Community This community holds so much history for us. We were married on Atsena Otie Key in 2022 with beautiful Cedar Key as our background. In 2023, we welcomed our amazing daughter, Eva. Along with our two rescue dogs—Goose (a GSP) and Honey Bee (a pointer mix)—Eva has already spent some very special years growing up in Cedar Key. Over the last decade, we have forged lifelong friendships here. Together, we’ve weathered every horrendous hurricane since 2016, from Hermine to Helene, and have seen firsthand how the island has evolved. We’ve watched this community rally—every single time. It is truly inspiring to see everyone come together to lend a hand and help their neighbors in need. Because Cedar Key has given so much to our family, we are deeply committed to giving back, whether that means helping clean up after a storm or proudly sponsoring local events. Come stay with us for that local service and personal touch that's rare in the vacation rental industry!
