Idyllic Rural Cottage with great panoramic views - 5 min from Laxey

Nuestra casa está situada en el precioso pueblo de Agneash, en una zona tranquila y relajante, a dos kilómetros de Laxey (que aparece en el programa Britain's Best Walks de Julia Bradbury). Está llena de carácter local. Disfrutamos de unas vistas maravillosas de Snaefell y Laxey. Se encuentra justo debajo de la única montaña de la isla y ofrece estupendos paseos. No hay contaminación lumínica y el cielo ofrece cada noche un espectáculo diferente para observar las estrellas. Le garantizamos una noche de sueño tranquila y es un lugar extremadamente seguro. El lugar ideal para relajarse, desconectar, recargar pilas, conectar con la naturaleza... y todo ello a solo 2,5 km de la playa y a 20 minutos en coche de la ciudad de Douglas. Tenga en cuenta que nosotros (los propietarios) vivimos en el mismo recinto. Somos una propiedad registrada en Visit Isle of Man (n.º 655090).

The cottage was in a scenic location, with great views up towards to Snaefell. Sylvie was a great host, and we had all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay.

Great location

Had a great weekend away, sylvie, anthony and her family was very welcoming into their home, the house location was perfect for a little getaway with my dog and mum

We really enjoyed our stay with Silvie & Anthony. The beds were very comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome by Silvie and Anthony. Although they live in the house we could use the kitchen and a separate dining area, lounge and bathroom was available for us to use The location is stunning and we were very lucky to have lovely weather during our stay. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Agneash is a beautiful place and Sylvie and Ants home is a warm and welcoming place to stay. Even though you share their home you hardly notice they are there, when you did see them they are such a lovely couple and very attentive. I would like to thank them for a lovely stay and we (4 adults and 2 dogs) would definitely come back to agneash.

Perfect home from home

We had a wonderful week in Agneash thanks to Sylvie and Anthony's friendly hospitality, help and information about all the island has to offer. This is the perfect place for a peaceful and quiet getaway but close to Laxey with its world famous waterwheel, electric team connections and lovely beach.

A very peaceful place.

We really enjoyed our time staying with Ant and Sylvie. Their property is very big and we had our own wing. We chatted every day with Ant and Sylvie about attractions in the area and found them both very helpful. The location is beautiful and quiet. A wonderful retreat but within a short drive of the many tourist attractions on the island.

Laxey Stay

The property was very nice and well positioned to explore the island. The hosts were very helpful and informative. However, on booking it was not made obvious we would be sharing the property with the owners. The holiday was great.

Summer Break

Easy to find, very clean & comfortable. Property managers were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of the Ireland which helped our stay. I would thoroughly recommend anyone to visit. Thank you

Beautiful surroundings

The property suited are needs down to the ground, did not have any issues at all. Although it is a shared house we had no issues at all because we realised that before booking. The owners are lovely people and we were so lucky to meet them and have a lovely chat each day. Very homely place, very clean and home from home, would stay again without a problem

This is NOT a holiday cottage. It is a B&B.

The owners are not just on-site, they are living in the property and sharing with you! The only privacy is your own bedroom. Other bedrooms may be let out as B&B stays. The position of the accomodation is good and the owners very nice people but the listing needs to be changed to B&B. They are not geared up to self-catering.no kitchen cupboard space and just one shelf in the fridge!

Hello Elaine, thank you for your review... Regarding us living in our own house, yes we do. However, that is clearly pointed out on our advert ("we, the owners - a couple- live on the premises") You had a whole room dedicated to the dogs and to use for you to leave your things. We avoided using the lounge so that you could have a room to sit together, as well as your own bedroom. We also fitted around you so that you had the whole kitchen to yourselves at the time of preparing and serving food. Regarding the shelf in the fridge, I asked if you needed more space and you did not indicate you did. I am sorry to hear this was a disappointment to you.

Quiet, well equipped cottage with lovely hosts

Had a lovely few days in beautiful surroundings. Accurate description but there are one or two accessibility issues to be considered for older guests. Wobbly steps to enter, stairs to bedrooms and bathroom straightforward but access between bedroom 1 and guest only bathroom has trip hazards.

Great Holiday

Lovely property with great facilities, comfy beds, the hosts were so accommodating and such a lovely, friendly couple with great knowledge of the island and just for a general chit chat. I must admit I was a little surprised when we first landed to discover the hosts actually live in the property, with a bed and breakfast service - some facitlites are shared with the hosts, mainly the kitchen and dining areas. We did have our own cosy lounge with TV and separate stairs to our bedrooms and bathroom. And you are able to cook your own meals if you so desire. A continental style breakfast was provided and excellent choices available with the opportunity to use the kitchen facilities for a cooked breakfast if you want to. Once we settled into the property we had a fabulous and very relaxing holiday with superb hosts and facilities. Thank you Sylvie and Anthony for helping us enjoy our first trip to the Isle of Mann

B&B not cottage

Please note you are booking a B&B not a house/cottage, this would have been ok if we had not had our 3 dogs with us - one of which is very nervous of strangers. On arrival we soon realised that the layout and set up of the property would not work for us which was a great shame as the property owners appeared very nice and the area stunning. I believe the property description is misleading and should be corrected. Expensive lesson learned to check details more thoroughly!

Disappointed by this very unfair review. Under the heading: "About this property" it says clearly: "Please note that the owners (a couple) live on the premises". Not sure how much clearer we can make it. This was there in black and white at the time of your booking. I also don't know how you can leave such a low rating for a property you only stayed less than 15 minutes in. You told us as you left that you were going to stay with family. How has that proved to be an "expensive mistake" in your case?

Sylvie is a linguist who enjoys communicating in French, Spanish and English. She also speaks some Italian. We have lived on the island for several decades and we will only be too happy to give you advice on local visits and attractions. We are keen walkers and cyclists. We have been hosts since 2015. We always endeavour to make our guests' stays as comfortable as possible. We really look forward to meeting you.

Agneash offers fantastic views and walks and is only 20 minutes away from Douglas. You can hear and see rare birds as you walk towards Snaefell. The nearest village is Laxey (five minutes away) which offers some great restaurants and a superb beach.
