We LOVED our stay here- from booking to our holiday we had such great communication with our host. This house is so special and wonderful highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful place to stay- we could not have asked for a better base for our Iceland adventure. Having all of the information from our host from directions to how to use the appliances was fantastic. Already dreaming of our next visit. Bonus was seeing the northern lights on a very clear night from the back deck.

Wonderful stay! The home was comfortable with plenty of space. The location was perfect to explore the Snaefelsness area, Borgarnes and Langjokull Glacier. Host was great with communication. We would definitely stay again.

Great house

Fantastic property, perfect for our family base camp to explore the area. Beds were comfy and communal spaces were perfect. Loved the hot tub too!

This place is beautiful. Has the perfect layout for a small group, great amenities, and is secluded and quiet, while still not too far out of town. Would definitely go back again.

We spent seven nights at Bakki in October, and it was absolutely perfect for our family of six. The house has everything you could wish for: a fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable bedrooms, and a spacious living area with stunning floor-to-ceiling glass that brings the beautiful surroundings right inside. And then there’s the hot tub! One evening, we were lucky enough to watch an incredible display of the Northern Lights while soaking in it. We saw the Aurora on other nights too, but experiencing it from the hot tub was truly magical.The house is around a ten-minute drive from the small town of Borgarnes and an easy hour from Reykjavík. There are two shops in town that stock pretty much everything you might need, as well as some excellent places to eat. BARAbistro was a particular favourite of ours (do try the horsemeat special!).Bakki is wonderfully secluded, with very little light pollution, making it an ideal spot for Northern Lights viewing. It’s also a fantastic base for exploring the region. Within a drive of around 30 minutes to two hours, you can visit thermal spas and the Blue Lagoon, explore the Golden Circle and a lava tunnel, venture into an ice cave, watch seals on a beach, climb an extinct volcano, and so much more.We honestly cannot recommend Bakki highly enough. It made our Iceland trip extra special, and we very much hope to return one day!

This house was perfect!

Our family spent 2 nights here while we explored the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Location was great, house was very clean and well supplied. Beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was an added bonus after a long day! We would absolutely stay there again.

The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The layout of the house is very nice, there were some toys and games for the kids to play with and a separate TV. We enjoyed the hot tub and the overall space available inside. We were lucky to see an amazing Northern Light show on two different nights!

This is our second stay at this lovely home and we enjoyed it just as much this time as we did last year! Thoughtful touches like a full length mirror and makeup mirror as well as everything needed for cooking and very cozy beds. You won't be disappointed!

Incredible Stay

We absolutely loved this house. The land and property were beautiful. The living space was open which helped a lot for our family. The whole family enjoyed the hot tub and sunsets as well. We would love to return one day!

Beautiful Holiday Home

We stayed at this property for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. It was very well appointed and had everything we needed, even plastic plates/cups for kids, children's books and the toys for the kids were a really nice touch. The one time I contacted the owners during our stay the response was almost immediate. I would highly recommend and definitely stay here again!

The place was easy to find with directions and was perfect. The boys and my husband used the hot tub, it was clean and worked well. There was a handy outdoor shower. We are a family of 8 and we fit great. There are plenty of dishes and a nice sized kitchen. We would be happy to stay here again, the house was lovely.

Beautiful property. We were able to enjoy the Northern Lights 6 out of 7 nights. The property is private and has excellent windows in all directions for viewing.

Perfect stay !

We booked a week in November ‘24 for my 80th birthday bucket list to see the Aurora. Although weak we did see it several times. Perfect beautiful house and location. Very highly recommend this place. Iceland scenery is a “wow” round every corner!!

Serene Escape

This place was great accommodations. Wish we would have stayed at this location longer. Hot tub was nice, bathrooms were updated, kitchen had ample room to cook and plenty of utensils. The owners were very nice and communicative. Even helped us navigate a storm, when our next location was not very helpful.

Plenty of room for 7 adults to spread out. Fantastic windows and comfortable gathering space. New kitchen and appliances making it very easy to prepare meals.

Comfortable remote stay in Iceland!

My family stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday Iceland trip from the states. The host had great communication and was very prepared with check in and home instructions. The place was very clean and we felt very comfortable during our stay. We only wished we stayed a little longer to be able to see all the sights in the area. Would definitely recommend renting this home for an experience outside of the city.

Perfectly Comfortable Home

Coming from the US, we were pleasantly surprised to find this home had everything we have at home, making for a comfortable stay. House is spacious, clean and has ample room for 5-6 people. A peaceful setting with tons of privacy, great views too. Host was responsive to any question we had. Would absolutely stay here again and HIGHLY recommend!

Better than the pictures!

We had a wonderful stay here. We got a glimpse of the northern lights from the hot tub. We stay at the end of April so the tail end of being able to see them. Great location to town and to the western region. The house was clean, the heated floor and heated drying racks were great! We’d definitely stay here again.
