The Woods Event Center & Suites offers extremely spacious 900 sq. ft guest suites. With plenty of room to roam, your friends and family will feel more at home than in a traditional hotel or tiny cottage. Rooms feature two Queen beds, bathroom with tub and shower combo, mini-fridge, microwave, in-room coffee maker, dedicated workspace with LED desk lamp/phone charger, dining area seats 4. Living Area features 50 inch Smart-TV and Chaise sofa.
Heat and A/C Controlled in Room. All Linens provided. Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash included.
Stay includes continental breakfast for up to 4 guests in our newly renovated TreeTop Breakfast Bistro.
Guests may also utilize the theater during their stay. Theater seats 12 guests. Guests may reserve time slots by contacting us via email or text. Hours may vary. Theater occasionally will close for special events.
Commercial Kitchen, Ballroom and Conference Rooms available for rent. Contact us for more information on rates and availability for events/activities. We can host your wedding, retirement party, elopement, corporate retreat, graduation party, anniversary party or any dinner or banquet.
Crystal Lake is within walking distance. Close to the Tippy Dam, Big Manistee River, Big M Trailhead, 25 mins from Manistee. 1 Hour to Traverse City. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort/Spa about 35 minute drive, Caberfae Peaks about 15-20 minutes.

Amazing elementary school converted to a very unique, very classy bed and breakfast. Hard to believe my room was once a place of learning for 1st graders. It's a spectacular space!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Woods event center, and we are very very pleased. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. Everything is new smelling. It is good to walk on the carpet and not worry about how dirty it is. We enjoyed the arcade this time. And even though there were very few people staying we had a nice continental breakfast waiting for us each morning.

We were very much impressed that a beautiful place like this exists in Wellston. I have been looking for a place to stay for a long time because we come up frequently. Our children live very close and we like to have a place to stay. The rooms were just beautiful. Everything was so clean and you could tell that everything was new and kept up. It was very nice to stay in a place like this. The arcade is also a wonderful idea if you have children. In the theater is pretty neat too.

Was an amazing place to stay. We will be staying again. Even some family members arr now going to stay! The rooms were extremely nice and the game room was fun.

Our stay was excellent. The room was comfortable and huge. The amenities were so much fun. The game room is such a plus. The property is extensive as it was an elementary school. The only thing missing was maybe a swimming pond or pool or hot tub. The property is close to Manistee but only about an hour from Traverse City which made it doable. The host and family were very accommodating. We would definitely return again.

Spacious, well-appointed slice of history

Our experience at the Woods was wonderful. Alicia was helpful and happy to share the story of the former elementary school turned event venue. How fun to get to stay in a comfortably reimagined classroom! We appreciated the thoughtful touches in our room and in the breakfast area, and would definitely make this our home base again next time we visit the Manistee National Forest.

Unique Idea

What an awesome idea! Turning an old school into a vacation rental. Our room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. It had just opened so a few things are still under construction but they are doing an amazing job. The rental ballroom looks amazing. I will definitely stay there again.
