Policies and disclosures
- This property does allow pets. There is a pet fee of $100 per pet.
- This property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe.
- On March 11th, 2022, the county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Check out the Short-Term Rental Fact Sheet for more information.
- Use of outdoor fire pits is prohibited due to extreme fire danger.
- A 12% occupancy tax is applied to all bookings, supporting local services and development.
-Upon booking, guests will be required to sign an electronic rental agreement (preview available in the House Rules). Due to local regulations access info will not be given unless this is signed.
-Majority of renters must be the age of 25 yrs old or older

Great location

The house was in a great location to Tahoe, spacious and had a great deck. We enjoyed our stay! The only negative was the cleanliness - previous tenets left dog poop in yard, inside smelled slightly of urine in some areas, very dusty and not the most clean, however maybe that comes with the cabin lifestyle? Overall a good stay and wasn’t an issue.

Review of 950 Carnelian Circle

When we arrived at the house, there was a musty smell and an odor or urine in the living area (first floor). It was clear that the carpets had not been recently cleaned and even the kitchen rugs were flithy. The house was not thoroughly cleaned. In the kitchen, the freezer was not cleaned and the lower oven was disgustingly dirty. There was dust, cobwebs and dead insects in the lamp shades. Cobwebs everywhere; in the corner of the downstairs bedroom, on the window sills (especially the bathrooms) and in many other areas of the house. To say the bathrooms are dated (many of the reviews I read beforehand) is an understatement. The hot water faucet in the upstairs bathroom is stuck from years of corrasion. The worst part of our stay was the outdoors. I spent an hour picking up old dog poop near the garage and then we racked the front area of pine cones and needles to allow the dogs a place to walk. The neighbors (who are not permanent residents) kept their yards cleared and clean so I would expect nothing less of this rental. The door into the garage does not lock properly. Many of the windows do not open. Overall, the place deserves a below average rating. We will not be staying at the Carnelian Retreat every again and avoid using the Tahoe Moon Properties for our next rental stay in Lake Tahoe.

Super clean and spacious

This kitchen is a foodies dream! As a former professional chef, I was pleasantly surprised by how stocked this kitchen was! I’ve never seen an immersion blender and kitchen aid at a rental! The place was immaculate. Check in supremely easy. We did find the one tiny bathroom upstairs is a bit cramped if 4 adults were to stay up there (we had just 3). Otherwise a beautiful property we thoroughly enjoyed.

Very peaceful

House very clean and peaceful area. A few updates to the house are needed but priced fairly. Only thing to consider for summer visits is there is no AC and bedrooms are upstairs. It was in low 80s for our stay and it got really warm upstairs. Overall was a great stay though

Great location!

This property was in a wonderful location and perfect for our getaway over the Thanksgiving holiday. The kitchen is gorgeous and living area relaxing. Trails are a quick walk from the front door.

Cozy and comfortable!

Great communication and easy check in/check out process. Management responsive to questions. Neighborhood was friendly and kind. Nice layout and space—the hot tub was perfect! Kitchen was open and plenty of seating and counter space. Comfortable couch and beds. Very cozy and perfect for a family. Some parts of the rental felt a little in need of tlc—chipping paint, worn out blankets, splintery deck. Lots of cobwebs and dust, especially around the windows.

Great stay

Our original plans got canceled due to the fires. We made our reservations a little over 24 hours before our stay, me stressing, the owners and management company made this a smooth transition.

Stay at Carnelian Bay

We enjoyed our stay and it was a good location. The property manager was responsive when we called. The kitchen was great and was really well outfited. It was a nice location close to hwy 28 and could get to the beach in either direction from here. The downside was no outdoor grill. The picture had one but it was not available.

Good location, nice kitchen & hot tub, enjoyed our stay!

Very good, however will go directly through Property Management Company next time. Did not think paying $254.00 for VRBO did anything for us and didn't realize we could have gone direct to reserve this cabin. Many family members were at other cabins but did not have this extra fee - definitely wasn't worth the extra money we were requested to pay VRBO.
