The Upstairs Hideaway
Relax and refresh at the Upstairs Hideaway on Whittington. Conveniently located in downtown Mount Ida within walking distance of restaurants, shops, parks and the museum. Just minutes away from Lake Ouachita and crystal digs.
Newly constructed upstairs apartment with open living room/kitchen area with queen sleeper sofa. Bedroom with bunk beds and closet space. Many comfy pillows and blankets available. Kitchen well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils, pots and pans, ice maker, condiments, reverse osmosis system for drinking water and ice and a dishwasher. Bathroom has large shower, good lighting, a hair dryer and small containers of necessities just in case. Out on the patio there is a gas grill and a wood firepit.
Behind the apartment is a perfect place to wash crystals, dirty boots, dirty kids, etc. A water hose and tubs are available. If you would like to use the gas grill just ask for the propane cylinder and I will hook it up. There is also an extra stall in the ground floor garage which can be used to store large valuables like bicycles or park your car inside during bad weather.

Absolutely wonderful to stay here. Nice and quiet. Rock cleaning sink behind the garage with brushes. Apartment was nice and cool. Would recommend staying here. Thank you Paula!

Great hideaway for local attractions. Easy to find and park at. Plenty of kitchen wares to bake, grill and cook! And it’s a gas stove Bunk beds comfortable and cozy. Paula is a great host and right next door. Very clean place and the basin to clean crystals is a bonus!

This little apartment was super cute, incredibly clean, and had enough space for all of my party! The host was incredibly communicative and kind! Definitely would love to stay here again.

Paula, the host had everything and more, in the kitchen, the apt was clean and inviting, and in a good location, you could walk to the eateries, great location if you are going to dig. you can hit 2 sights in the same day. was there 5 days and went to 7 mines. would stay here again.

Very well stocked kitchen with plenty of amenities. Host is thorough in providing needed accommodations for guests.
Parking is safe, secure, and spacious. The area itself is overall safe neighborhood with a school in walking distance.

Such a beautiful place, we enjoyed our stay very much. Paula was wonderful, the area was amazing, will definitely try to make it back.

Super clean and cozy. Paula (host) is very welcoming and has truly thought of everything. We will absolutely stay here again!

I'm Paula and I live in the little rock house just in front of the Upstairs Hideaway. I really enjoy meeting my guests and hearing about where they are from and why they happened to be staying in Mount Ida.
Por qué eligió esta propiedad
Mount Ida is a quaint and quiet little town. It's known as the Quartz Crystal capital of the world. There are 4 crystal mines in the area. Lake Ouachita is just a few miles away too. I'm lucky to say that both sides of my parents' families are from this area and I'm very happy to be retired now and able to return here.

The apartment is newly constructed in 2022/2023. Guests are within walking distance to downtown with restaurants, parks and stores. During summer months there is live music every Saturday night on the town square which is only a block away.
