Sweeney Lake Lodge – A Northwoods Retreat Like No Other
Escape to the serene beauty of the Northwoods at Sweeney Lake Lodge, a handcrafted log home unlike anything you've experienced. Tucked away on 31 private acres along the tranquil shores of Sweeney Lake and surrounded by towering maples, this stunning retreat offers a one-of-a-kind blend of rustic elegance, total privacy, and timeless craftsmanship.
This custom-built lodge—created with 18-inch hand-scribed red pine logs—celebrates nature with exquisite details: a massive fieldstone fireplace (with outdoor wood access), warm white pine interiors, black granite kitchen countertops, and artisan touches throughout, including hemlock-framed windows and black ash cabinetry.
Step outside your door and into Northwoods wonderland. Miles of private trails, wild blueberries, and a daily parade of local wildlife await. Whether you’re hiking, stargazing, or sipping coffee on the sun-drenched deck, you'll feel immersed in nature’s finest.
Inside, there's room for everyone:
Main floor: King bedroom + full bath
Upstairs: Two cozy bedrooms + full bath
Lower level: Open sleeping area with three beds + private full bath
Gather in the breathtaking great room, cook up meals in the kitchen, and dine in style in the spacious formal dining area. Enjoy screen-free living—no TVs here—so you can reconnect, play games, share stories, and truly unplug. (Wi-Fi is provided for essential connectivity.)
Sweeney Lake is home to Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Panfish. It's been noted that an occasional Muskie has even been caught. The 44-acre lake is mostly private and for that reason it is imperative that guests respect the neighboring properties and the natural habitat of the lake. There is a dock and small launch for guest use. At 14 feet max depth, this lake is good for silent sports and some fishing. Please exercise NO WAKE, nothing larger than a trolling motor. Note that you are located near the Sailor Flowage as well as many other public waterways and state forests.
Snowmobiling & Trail Access for all UTV/ATV/Snowmobile can be found along Hicks Landing Rd as it is open and trail friendly. Towards Highway 70, you can intersect perfectly with corridor trail 101 - 10.
We hope you will enjoy this place and its space as much as the owners do, and experience a rejuvenating feel with a stay here at the lodge!
