Perfect foe Two

Host Brian was quick to respond when emailed. House was clean. Comfortable bed. Close to Krugers, Blasket Pier, Blasket Center (good place for lunch or tea/scone), hiking. Pleasant week.

Relaxing stay

Previous reviewers have described Baile Na Ratha as home away from home - that is so true. As soon as we arrived we felt right at home in this cosy and comfortable cottage. The surroundings are so beautiful, with lovely walks starting from the doorstep. And after a day outdoors, what is better than relaxing by the warm glow of peat fire? We actually liked it so much we try to arrange a few days off so that we can go again in a few weeks' time - and that is saying something.

Great house

We spent a lovely, peaceful week in this clean and comfortable house in the Gaeltacht (great to hear Irish spoken as a first language) in June. Overlooking the Great Blasket and minutes from Dunquin pier, the house is well situated for walking and cycling and thirst may be slaked at Krugers pub where the Guinness is excellent. Phil is very nice and available if needed but is otherwise completely unobtrusive. Would highly recommend.

Cozy and spacious

My friend and I stayed here 5 nights in March. All the pictures accurately depict how the home is. The house itself was spacious and cozy. There was a nice selection of kitchen tools to use. The water was always hot which helped to warm up after the damp days! Towels were included. We used the convenient washer/dryer during our stay, and it worked fine. The house was about a 12-15 minute drive into Dingle, and we used this as a home base to road trip during our stay. We enjoyed the home and would stay here again.

Peace and beauty with wonderful hosts!!

I've stayed with the wonderful Úi Chonchúir (O'Connor) family (Phil, Alec, and Brian) before and my planning for another trip to Dingle was predicated on finding an available period to stay with them once again in Baile na Ratha cottage. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable to stay in, within walking distance of many of the things to see and do in the west end of Dingle, and I feel it is my home away from home. It even has one of my panoramic photos in pride of place over the fireplace from a previous trip [thank you Phil!!!] I cannot say how welcomed I was on showing up again at the cottage, with warm hugs from the beautiful soul Phil, and several long evening "chin wags" talking with Brian. I felt like long lost family. You will love staying there!!

Our favorite place

This was our second stay at Baile Na Ratha. Last time we were fortunate to stay for several months while this time we stayed for almost three weeks. The only problem with this trip was that it was too short! We have come to love this little cottage that is perched along the Wild Atlantic Way. Even better than that are the friends we've made here that have become dear to us. You won't find a better retreat location nor will you find kinder and friendlier owners. We also never tire of the beauty of the area. It takes your breath away no matter how many times you've seen it. We'll be back as soon as we can!

Lovely cottage and great hosts

This cottage was wonderful and very comfortable. Philomena and Sharon were great hosts. Turf fires for breakfast and at night with a lovely hearth. I can't say enough about the beautiful location...great hikes, the Blaskets right outside and 15 minutes to Dingle town. Perfect stay and I slept like a baby for the first time in months.

The Perfect Getaway

Planning a wedding is not easy; planning a wedding overseas is by far one of the easiest and best experiences we've had. This was our first trip to Ireland & as we were getting married at Coumeenoole beach we needed a nearby b&b & this one was perfect. Brian met us at the house upon arrival to show us around & we quickly got settled in & went off to explore town. The house is less than a 20 minute drive to Dingle town but we so enjoyed the stunning views of the drive, we would stay there in a heartbeat again. Brian and Philomena made the process smooth & communicated every step of the way. I am so grateful to both of them for making our wedding week & first trip to Ireland so incredibly special.

Home Sweet Home

This house is so lovely, comfortable and absolutely clean, from the first moment we felt be welcomed. Philomenas daughter, Sharon, did the check in. She is a very nice person and was always busy to support us with everything we needed. We loved the little kitchen, where we found some tea , sugar, coffee, salt and other helpful stuff, which was very nice. Everything was so kindly furnished and decorated, we even found heat blankets in the beds :) We have been there for 1 week with two adults and three kids ( 17,15,14 ) and we found enough space for us. This house is very closed to all the amenities like the beaches, Krugers Pub ( The Westerly Bar in Europe, also known as the Bar in the movie "Ryan`s Daughter" ), the Blasket Centre and the Slea Head Drive. In the conclusion we had a wonderful time in this house and we definitely can recommend it. To us Dunquin is one of the most beautiful parts in the world and this house is a part of it. Thank you Sharon and Philomena!

Sehr erholsamer Aufenthalt in heimeligem, irischen Ferienhäuschen

Das Ferienhaus ist ursprünglich, rustikal und gerade deshalb auch sehr heimelig! Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Für Kaffeezubereitung gibt es eine French-Press-Kaffeekanne. Das Haus war sehr ordentlich und sauber. Es gab sogar Waschmaschine und Trockner. Bei unserer Ankunft waren die Betten liebevoll bezogen. Es gab auch genügend Handtücher vor Ort. Sharon, die Besitzerin ist wunderbar - beim Check-in und out hat alles bestens geklappt! Wir haben uns super gut erholt und kommen bestimmt wieder :-)

Lovely cottage with everything catered for and with excellent views of the Blasket Islands and 10 minutes walk from the pier from where the ferry to the island leaves. A stunning setting.

schönes Häuschen in wundervoller Gegend!!

Wir verbrachten im Juni 2 Wochen mit unseren Kindern (8 und 12 Jahre) in dieser schönen Unterkunft. Das Häuschen ist einfach, aber es war bei unserer Ankunft sehr sauber, und es hat alles, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt braucht: Spülmaschine, Waschmaschine, Trockner, ausreichend Besteck und Geschirr, viele Handtücher, Decken,...und sogar eine kleine Grundausstattung an Lebensmitteln. Sehr gut gefallen haben uns die Heizdecken in den Betten:-) Der Kontakt im Voraus und auch vor Ort war sehr herzlich und unkompiziert. Die Lage der Unterkunft ist angenehm ruhig, die Landschaft und die Küste drum herum sind traumhaft schön!! Es gibt in nächster Nähe viele Möglichkeiten zum Spazieren, kleine, nette Cafes und auch tolle Strände. Nach Dingle (hier sind zwei große Supermärkte) sind es etwa 20 Minuten mit dem Auto. Uns hat es allen sehr gut gefallen, und am liebsten wären wir noch länger geblieben...... Die Unterkunft und die Gegend sind sehr zu empfehlen! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Such a wonderful cozy and clean cottage to spend our vacation! Dunquin is breathtaking!

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our stay! The owners were extremely friendly and helpful to us. It was very clean and cozy. A wonderful base to see much of the Slea Head area and spending evenings in Dingle. A short walk from the cottage down to the ocean and stunning cliffs was among the highlights. Wonderful food and service everywhere we went. This is the most beautiful place in all the world! Thank you so much for the experience and the memories!

Wonderful!

Beautiful location, spotlessly clean, comfortable, with all you need. Philomena is a wonderful host who shared excellent recommendations, like Murphy’s Pub for lunch. We have already recommended this place to friends and look forward to going back ourselves.

Wonderful quiet retreat on the Kerry coast

We enjoyed a lovely week in this cottage which is beautifully situated on a very quiet road overlooking the Blasket Islands off the Slea Head Drive. The cottage is comfortable, warm and well kitted out with the basics. It’s an easy 20 minute drive into Dingle where you’d be spoiled for choice of great restaurants. More locally, there’s a cafe within walking distance in the Blasket Centre and a little further away in Louis Mulcahy’s pottery shop.

Superb location!

This house met all our needs as a family of four plus a dog. The house was cosy with all the facilities we needed. It's location is great for handy access to some great walks long or short. We walked to the Blasket Visitors Centre which comes highly recommended especially prior to a trip out to Blasket Mor. We were also able to walk from the house (10 mins) to Dunquin Harbour to get the ferry out to the island. Returning back to the house each evening we enjoyed a toasty fire and comfortable beds. Phenomena was very helpful and a great host. A great spot to enjoy this beautiful part of Kerry. Go raibh míle maith agat.
