It does not get any better than this. The Chateau was AMAZING! Shared by one couple and two singles, there was plenty of room for everyone and we appreciated that each bedroom had its own bath. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen with great coffee making options. The Views were spectacular and the interior was tastefully appointed and completely charming. It was warm enough to use the pool one day and it was fantastic. We enjoyed wine in the evening and coffee in the morning in the several beautiful outdoor spaces. The location is close to many great villages to explore and we loved getting fresh baguettes and croissants from the bakery at the bottom of the hill every morning. Check in was easy and the hosts are charming with great communication. We loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to return!

Our group of 6 adults really enjoyed our stay at the castle. Having afternoon drinks on the turret watching the hot air balloons float by was magical..Close to bolangerie & grocery.

Amazing house with good location close to Sarlat

Our family really enjoyed staying in this beautiful historic house . 10 minutes drive from Sarlat. The views are amazing.

We are a family of 5 with adult children with partners and we stayed for over a week in late June. The property is charming, full of character and comfortably accommodated our group of 8 adults. It has plenty of outside areas to relax, by the frog pond, opposite the pool and on the top terrace with fantastic views across the countryside. We stayed during a very hot June and the house stayed comfortably cool and the pool was very welcome. There’s also a free local tennis court behind the property which we also used in the evenings. The hosts were easy to contact, prompt and helpful when we had questions. The house is well located on the edge of a small village about 10 drive from Sarlat, a small medieval town with bars, restaurants and market and also not far from Beynac with its imposing castle and quaint village which surrounds it on the banks of the Dordogne river. We’d recommend hiring some kayaks and doing a trip down the Dordogne from Beynac, taking a picnic and river swimming. There’s also plenty of caves locally which are worth a half day visit. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend staying here, the house and grounds are wonderful, and there’s plenty to do and see, but equally just a lovely place to relax if you just want to unwind.

We have had a lovely week with our family here. We all had a lot of fun in the pool, made good use of the bbq and different dining areas outside, enjoying the amazing views. The property has a lovely quirky French atmosphere and is well equipped. We canoed on the Dordogne and enjoyed re-discovering an area we visited several times many years ago. Three generations made the most of a too-short week.

Wonderful week in Dordogne Region

My group of 4 really enjoyed staying in this Petit Chateau in early July. It was perfect as we visited the surrounding areas during the day and were able to cool off in the pool every evening. Charles and Anne were lovely hosts, and answered all our questions promptly. I wished we could had another week!

Can’t ask for a better home base to explore Dordogne!

Charles and Ann’s home was a true treat to rent. It was the perfect base to explore the region. And after a busy day of visiting this incredible area, we were always thrilled to come back to the house to enjoy wine on the tower terrace. The owners were very responsive and the home is simply lovely. We will definitely be back!

Lovely castle

It was a great experience to be in Maison Gris in St Andre Allas. Everything was available. In some cold days, the heating was quick and comfortable. The views are excellent. Sarlat is just a few miles away.

Beautiful property, great pool

The property is well-located in a small village near Sarlat, just a short drive to many attractions and a 10 min walk to a bakery, which I went to every morning to get croissants for breakfast. The property has a lot of character and great outdoor spaces. The best part was the pool which we really enjoyed during the heat wave we had. The owners were very responsive to any questions.

We loved the property, we needed help from Paul & Sarah the caretakers they couldn’t do enough for us .Hopefully we’ll go back in the future.

3 Generations Trip

Incredible home and incredible property in a lovely area. We walked for fresh bread and croissants every morning, explored the region and then refreshed in the pool and listened to the frogs in the pond every evening. The home has such incredible history and we spent the entire week exploring the Dordogne and Vezere river valleys, gardens and castles and falling in love with the medieval town of Sarlat. We hope to come back again soon.

Great Find

Stunning property with lovely quirks. The view from the top of the tower is breath-taking. Charles and Anne where fantastic and very accommodating. If you are a fan of the area, this is the base for you. House comes with everything you need. Can't thank them enough for the support and messaging in tough times.

Dordogne trip

Beautiful location and perfect for 3 couples who like to travel together. There is a good boulangerie within a short walk and a fish and chips truck that was excellent that is set up once a week near there. The house has great outdoor spaces, but the weather did not cooperate for us to use the pool(which appears to be very nice). The house is in a lovely rural area but is an easy drive to Sarlat and other places of interest. The owner was great to deal with and we had no problems. We would strongly recommend staying here!

A magical place to stay

We spent a wonderful two weeks with family and our oldest friends in this beautiful house. The tower and its circular staircase was a big draw for our teenage son; and aperitifs at the top every evening a highlight for the adults as we watched hot air balloons gently drifting across the valley. The house was very comfortable and each bedroom having its own bathroom was a bonus. The location was ideal for us, near Sarlat with many places to see - Beynac was our personal favourite - and things to do within easy reach. The owners were very helpful before we arrived and quick to answer any queries too. We couldn't have wished for more and were sad that we had to leave.

Paradise in the Dordogne

We spent a lovely week in this beautiful historic property. From the terrace amazing views surrounded by nature .The magical sound of the scop owl and saw deer grazing in the field. Pool just the right temperature despite the unseasonably cool weather. Boulangerie was walking distance from the property lovely bread and patisserie daily. Downstairs bathroom really is room with a view got to be seen to be believed! Plenty to do in surrounding area whatever the weather, picturesque villages spoilt for choice. If interested in archaeology very informative tour at Cap Blanc rock shelter. I would recommend this petite chateau for a very memorable stay.

We spend three wonderful weeks in this little Chateau

When we arrived, everything was well prepared for us. After the first week, my son and a friend of his had to leave, and our friends from Germany arrived. It was very kind of the staff, that they changed linnen etc on Saturday, we thank You very much. We enjoyed of course the pool und the beautiful garden. But we also enjoyed the fully eqipped kitchen, every evening we had beautiful meals. And last but not least: We were happy about the hiking paths in and aroud St. André, we made serveral tours from here to highlights of the region.

Unanimous five stars from three generations

This house is quite unusual, with its spiral staircase up the tower to an amazing view over the Dordogne valley. It's comfortable, well equipped and family-friendly. We particularly liked the fact that upstairs is carpeted, while the thick walls and tiled floors downstairs meant it was always cool inside. It isn't isolated, with a small school and public tennis courts opposite, but it is secluded and at night the only sound was croaking frogs. Apart from swimming in the lovely pool, there's lots to do in the area for all ages (ours ranged from 4 to 70+) - we would love to go back.

Charles and Anne are excellent hosts, answering all of our queries in a helpful and timely manner. The property is beautiful with fantastic views, often with added hot air balloons. Lots of places to sit outside in any weather. It is also very well located in a picturesque village which is a short drive from La Roque Gageac, Sarlat, etc. The bakery and pizza place in the village are not to be missed!There is a wide variety of birds and butterflies in the pretty gardens and immediate surroundings plus some lovely frogs in the fish pond.Guests should be aware that there is no “welcome pack” of essentials like bread, milk, etc. as is common in UK holiday rentals. There is an excellent E.Leclerc supermarket nearby but be aware of opening/closing times. A torch is helpful if arriving after dark to help you get in.

Maison Grise

This was a magnificent experience. The chateau is surrounded by beautiful gardens and nature. The sounds, smells, and views are spectacular. It has a convenient location yet feels very private. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are numerous, clean, and pleasant. There are many places to sit and relax including the excellent rooftop deck. The stairs to the three second floor bedrooms are a bit steep but with good railings. There are many choices of dining areas, indoor, outdoor, sunny, shady. The pool is lovely but there is no hot tub. There are many pleasant short walks around the house. The nighttime sounds are wonderful. The flowers, gardens, and art work are interesting and a joy to behold! We highly recommend this petit chateau.
