The condo is in a great location and neighborhood. Many places are an easy walk as it’s just around the corner from many excellent restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. The beds were comfortable and we all had enough room for our group.

This was a very large and nice place to stay for my family. It is an older 2 floor unit in a brownstone and has age, but it was comfortable and clean. The location couldn’t be better and everything needed was within walking distance. The host communicated well and I would definitely stay again.

What a fantastic stay! The location could not have been more perfect. An amazing neighborhood that was just a short walking distance to so many amazing sights and restaurants. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood so much. The house was very spacious and comfortable. All of the beds were comfortable and check in/out was such an easy process. I don’t think there is a better spot to stay in the city than here.

We had a great stay in gold coast in Chicago, The seller communicated very well. The VRBO was as advertised. I would stay again and come back in the warm weather since it is a five minute walk to the beach.

Very beautiful, lots of room for a family. Full kitchen, 2 bathrooms 1 with a tub. It’s a a great neighborhood close to bus stops and over night parking. Dan was very quick to reply with any questions and very helpful. We were very pleased.

Check in/ early check in process was last minute and relied on being sent a link that I couldn’t access without signal. Once inside property, Had everything we required. Slight sewer stench was less than ideal but just apart of the location I believe.

Great stay!

Amazing location! Close to the “L” and within walking distance to the beach, magnificent mile and tons of restaurants. We had a great mother-daughter trip!

Comfortable Stay in a Nice Neighborhood

We were in the Chicago area for a bridal shower, and three of our group were prior Chicago residents. We knew the area, and this was a very nice, quiet street within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and shopping. We easily parked a half block away. We highly recommend this property.

Guys trip

Great property in an amazing location. Had everything we needed. Dan was a great host with great communication. Minor issue at the start getting the check in instructions but Dan made sure to rectify it before we arrived. Would highly recommend

I have to say that I was a little shocked by all the things that need to be done to get into this stay. I had a contract I was used to that but then I needed to provide a picture ID or a Passport number to get into the condo. I realize that this is a big city but that is my personal information. We got into the condo 20 min late in the cold that day.

Excellent location - would rent again

This property was in such a beautiful neighborhood in Chicago. The host was responsive and assisted with early check-in. Property was clean and spacious. Bathrooms were a bit tiny but fine for what we needed. The building is definitely older and we could hear a lot of noise from the neighbors above, but otherwise our stay was exactly what we hoped for. Would definitely recommend!

Dirty and everything broken

Location is great. Place is very dirty (fan had 4 inches of dust), electricity did not work for 24 hours (breaker tripped and no access), door fell off the bathroom and therefore bathroom unusable and was fixed the day we left.

The location is great. Unfortunately, that was the only great part about the experience.The townhouse has clearly been "renovated" as a short term rental business. Fine. But if you're going to charge almost 1k/night, provide 1k/night service. These owners unfortunately don't.**FYI, This is Not a Luxury Apartment The furniture in general is old, cheap, and torn. There are random holes and patches in the walls. The handle fell off of the frying pan while we were using it, there's no dish towels, etc. It's a perfectly habitable space, but not what most people would call luxurious.**Owners Not Capable of Providing More than Four Bath Towels Despite Stating that Listing Has Capacity for 13 People Our reservation was for 5 people. When we arrived, there were 4 sets of towels, one on each bed. After receiving multiple generic followup messages, they eventually said they'd bring a bath towel 2 days later, the morning we were leaving. We never got a 5th bath towel.**Both Sofa Beds Are Broken and Will Stay That WayThey again said that someone could only fix the bed that wouldn't go back in the sofa on the day that we were leaving. It was clear (rips along side where people had previously tried to jam it in) that it's been broken for a long time. Also, when we pulled out the broken sofabed, there were spilled peanuts and used batteries on the dirty mattress. Again, these issues would be more forgiveable in a cheap rental, but if you want to charge this much: do better.

Location is great

Location is near 2 bus stops and a train station. One issue with the property is that neither bathroom doors close correctly to give full privacy. One on lower level is bifold and won’t close so you have a gap. One on first level is two small doors that have a slide lat h to close but leave a significant gap between them. Both bedrooms need better blinds or curtains. Lots of street light comes in. I could never get live tv to work. I followed all the instructions but the network name never showed up.

Great location

My teen daughter, mom, MIL and myself stayed here and visited Chicago to experience The Magnificent Mile at Christmas time. We were able to walk from our VRBO and see all the things! Rush Street was just around the corner with Taverns, Restaurants and a few shops as well. The Brownstone was nice, we loved the character of an older building. Felt very safe in the area. Only a couple of things that kept me from giving 5 stars overall rating. There were no oven mitts/linens in the kitchen and the oven door had to be propped close with a chair in order to use the oven. The water has a sulfur smell which caused the downstairs bathroom to have a bit of a smell even when water wasn't running. Nothing too overpowering or unbearable. Overall we enjoyed our stay and it served the purpose of allowing us to take in all the sites!

Great location!

We originally looked for hotels before checking VRBO and are so glad we found this. The apartment: 2 levels, first floor and basement. As you walk in, there's a spacious living room area with a large picture window. Further back is the first bedroom with two very comfortable beds. Each floor has a clean, updated bathroom. The lower level has a large kitchen with everything you need to cook and entertain your group plus another bedroom with queen bunks. Location on a very quiet street that felt very safe. We used this space as a base for touring the city, and it was perfect for us: only a few minutes walk to public transit meant everything in the city seemed close. We also enjoyed just relaxing here at times and walking the neighborhood. Located in a very safe, quiet street just out of the hustle and bustle. Short walk east: you're at the lake. Short walk West, you're dining at Lou Malnati's. Felt like home away from home. Highly recommend!

Great location, but…

Can’t beat the location only a block from the lake, Michigan Avenue and numerous shops, restaurants, and bars. Outside of the location though we had a number of issues with the property. I will say that the host was quick to acknowledge our concerns but ultimately did nothing about them with the exception of one item. Here goes: two pots very dirty and clearly had not been cleaned (host offered to send someone to clean which we declined); inop TV remotes due to missing batteries or perhaps dead batteries (host provided new remotes the following day); a family staying in the unit above us had small children that were running/jumping constantly and it sounded like they would come through the ceiling (I asked the host to contact them but not sure if he did); no toaster (twice mentioned to host but never resolved); broken shower door first floor bath making it very difficult to open and close (host said he would send someone to fix but it never happened); this unit is by the front door of the building and the door shuts very loudly - you’ll know when others are coming and going; oven door would not stay closed all the way preventing the oven from heating (discovered last day so not much host could do). The host thanked us for passing along these concerns so future guests would have a better experience but otherwise offered us no concessions. If you decide to stay here, which again is a great location, I suggest checking to see that these issues have been resolved.

Host always responded immediately to any messages before and during trip. Location is great for visitors looking to tour the city. Great restaurants within a short walking distance. Enjoyed our time there.

I loved the whole vibe of being in a brownstone. I grew up in the country and I still live in the country and I love it and I could never move. But I love visiting places like this and it gave us the real feel of chicago. I would definitely stay here again! We actually rode the bus for the first time and we got to see all of the sites. And I'll tell you one thing, this location couldn't be any better. We were actually within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go but we had a baby with us. All in all great place, great location, and Dan was very responsive to any questions I had.
