Located 1.5 miles from the center of downtown Fort Lauderdale and the beach and within walking distance of downtown Wilton Manors, this central location has easy access to all the region has to offer. Being minutes from the beach, the Galleria Mall, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Museum of Discovery and Science, Riverwalk, historic Bonnet and Stranahan houses, Las Olas Boulevard, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, Holiday Park and nearly 30 other parks with various outdoor activities, this location has much to offer. This one bedroom cottage features a queen size bed, large spa-style bathroom with glass walk-in shower, full kitchen with granite countertops, range, and refrigerator/freezer with ice maker. The living area has French doors that open to a deck and private tropical garden with seating. Designed to be energy efficient and eco- friendly, the cottage has two split air conditioning systems with heating and remote control for ease of regulating two zones (bedroom/living area), LED lighting, and energy efficient appliances. Located behind my historic home and facing the opposite direction it offers complete privacy. Per Ft. Lauderdale vacation rental code, "It is unlawful for a sexual offender to occupy this residence."

Wonderful place to spend time and see the sights in Fort Lauderdale. The neighborhood was excellent for long walks and short car rides always from all we wanted!!

Cute private oasis

close to wilton manors, just a 12 min walk. Quiet and private. Very new and updated. Would stay there again!

This is a beautiful little bungalow in the back of a property that is well-manicured and maintained. The cottage itself is clean, modern and had everything needed, all I did was pick up some groceries although there are plenty of restaurants to choose from close by. I was there for 3 days. No, issues, bed was very comfortable, shower has great hot water and pressure, nice little patio to sit outside and there's a grill. It's a lovely place to stay and I intend to stay again when in the area.The hostess Karen was a pleasure!

Recent stay

The property was beautiful both within the charming one bedroom house and outside --surrrounded by garden. It was quiet and spotless. I highly recommend it. The host Karen was very helpful with any questions etc. I had.

I visit soflo every couple of months, and since I found this lovely little place I haven't stayed anywhere else. Centrally located to restaurants, shops, airport, downtown Ft. Lauderdale, theater, you name it. Place is always clean, well stocked with all amenities you need (just bring food & beverages). Outdoor sitting area is nice for morning coffee or evening meal on the grill (which is provided). This trip even picked up some fresh avocados that fell in the yard. Karen is an amazing host and very accommodating as well as excellent communicator. Love staying there and will continue to do so.

Pictured looked really good online, wasn’t as impressed when we got to the property

Great place to sleep, not a great place to hang out and enjoy. Was hoping for a nicer neighborhood and places closer for walking distance. The owner was great to get in contact with though really liked that.

It looks like you are new to VRBO, so you may not have known how to best search for a location. As stated in my description, the cottage is about 1.5 miles from downtown Ft. Lauderdale and within walking distance to Wilton Manors. With the map provided on the VRBO site, you can see it is a short distance from the beach, but not within walking distance. For future bookings, it would be helpful to research how close the property is to the places you want to visit by using the map provided. For example, I was just in Key West and found an apartment 2 blocks from many of the main attractions, which is what I was looking for. It was very noisy but location was of primary importance to me rather than peace and quiet.

Tropical Retreat

A lovely, quiet and private place to stay while exploring Fort Lauderdale. Beautiful interior with quality furnishings. Everything there to make my week's stay there comfortable. Five stars!

Cottage in Garden of Eden

I stayed at this beautiful, perfect cottage for over a week. Keith is just a super guy, helpful, friendly, and ofcourse a gardener. The garden of Eden is what surrounds this little home. Always felt totally safe. Everything is soooo clean, and ofcourse new. The bed and bedding made me feel like a princess, slept so well. Such a quiet area. I was without a car, but used the buses to the beach. Very easy to use. There is a handy 7eleven and a little ethnic grocery store a couple of blocks away. The decor of the cottage is like something from HGTV show. Everything one needs is in cottage and I know that Keith would have supplied me with anything else I might have needed. I shall without hesitation use this cottage again, and will tell everyone about it. So if you have the priviledge of using it please respect and take care of this treasure. Peaceful Paradise

My husband and I rented this cottage for a week. The home is even prettier than the pictures. The cottage has been totally renovated with top quality appliances, beautiful tile flooring and shower. The design was spacious with perfect decoration. It made me want to redo my own home. While not within walking distance to the beach, an easy 15 minute drive got us to a state park that had lots of parking. A short walk through a tunnel under busy A1 brought us to the beach. Our favorite part about staying in the cottage was returning home to the beautifully landscaped private garden surrounding the place. We loved grilling and having happy hour on the patio enjoying our escape from busy Fort Lauderdale. The kitchen was well equipped with new dishes, new pans and even sharp knives. The owner was quick to respond to our needs providing a bigger coffee for us and allowing us to use his washer and dryer. I would highly recommend this cottage to friends.

I have worked in the education field all my life and, most recently, was a college professor teaching graduate education classes. I am a graduate of the University of Iowa and Illinois State University. Go Hawks and Go Redbirds! My hobbies are golf, gardening, traveling and reading. Favorite past trips include visits to Egypt, Rome, and Paris. Future dream trips are visits to Switzerland, where my grandparents came from, and the Italian and French countrysides.
