Comfy Funny River retreat close to Soldotna and some of the best fishing holes!

If you are looking for a cozy, private retreat to lay your head after a day of enjoying the abundance the Kenai Peninsula has to offer, this is it. Our tastefully decorated "Alaskan" home is less than 1/2 mile from the Kenai River, close to the Funny River Campground (that boasts some of the best fishing holes) and near a public boat launch. If you love golf, get in a round at the nearby Bird Homestead course. We are only 14 short miles from town and the drive up is incredible with mountain views and lots of opportunities to see Moose. Enjoy all the amenities this home has to offer, including a fully stocked kitchen for those home cooked meals. The oven has a built-in air fryer, along with a deep fryer and gas BBQ to cook up your daily catch! Enjoy the long summer nights and smores next to the solo stove. The home sits on 1 acre and has a separate tiny house and shop that is periodically occupied by the owners. The owner is also a fishing guide on the Kenai if you are looking to book a trip!

Lori and Auggie are the best. They made the trip a once in a lifetime adventure. All the extra touches definitely made us feel at home and like family. We will definitely be back. These 2 are special.The cabin was perfect.

Perfect Alaskan GetawayWe had a fantastic stay at Comfy Funny River Retreat! Owners were great, and the place was clean, roomy, and had everything we needed—and then some.The extra blow-up mattress was a huge bonus for our five-person crew and came in very handy. The location was perfect for us, with easy access to fishing on the Funny River and the confluence with the Kenai. The drive was quick and easy, and honestly, we much preferred staying here over being in town. It was absolutely worth it.We loved the wilderness decor—it really gave the place that true Alaska feel. Another unexpected bonus was the brand-new washer and dryer. After a few days of fishing, being able to head home with a bag of clean clothes was hard to beat!Great place, great location, great host, and a perfect home base for an Alaska fishing trip. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Trip of a life time!

Very clean, had everything we needed, Close enough to town, but yet you were out where you could see all the moose and wildlife, beautiful place to stay!! We brought our grandchildren ages, three and five and our daughter and son-in-law. It was a wonderful trip.

Cozy Cabin

Perfect for us and our two teenage daughters. Not much if you want to sit outside and enjoy a view, but we were on the go a lot. Also made use of the fish cleaning station. A Great Alaskan experience!

Perfect Cozy Home

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this Funny River rental, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. The home was even better than the pictures portrayed, and it had all the amenities one would need for a comfortable stay. The cabin had everything you could possibly need- games, cooking supplies, washer dryer! The beds were so comfortable! Overall, I highly recommend this cozy rental to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-equipped home away from home. The attention to detail and the thoughtfulness put into providing a great experience truly made a difference. I would gladly return for another stay in the future.

We had an amazing stay at this cabin! It was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a fishing getaway. The location was beautiful and peaceful, making it the perfect place to unwind after spending our days exploring Alaska.The hosts were wonderful—friendly, responsive, and made sure everything was just right. You can tell they truly care about their guests and take pride in their property.We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay here again. If you’re looking for a comfortable, welcoming cabin with great hosts, this is the place. Highly recommend!

The drive up to the house is spectacular with mountain views and plenty of opportunities to see wildlife. It is not uncommon to wake up to Moose right outside the front door. Our small neighborhood is quiet and peaceful.

We are in a perfect location. Far enough from the hustle and bustle of Soldotna and Kenai, but just a short drive away from shopping and delicious cuisine. Our home is located in a private, secluded neighborhood and is very close to the Kenai and some of the best fishing spots.
