The home’s name was inspired by the brilliant sunset views that reveal themselves daily over the mountain ridges; it’s also the name of the owners’ favorite Grateful Dead song.
Enjoy beautiful vistas of the trees and mountaintops from all bedrooms; also from the home’s living, kitchen, dining, and loft area (through the angled skylights). From sunup to sundown, the natural scenery, clouds & skyline constantly unfold & surround the home in surprising & delightful arrangements.

- Other Items to Note -
Fire On The Mountain is located less than 30 minutes from the quaint towns of Lake Lure & Chimney Rock in the quiet community of Fairview, dotted with picturesque farmland that’s open to the public. Just 5 minutes from the home is local-favorite, Hickory Nut Gap Farm, best known for its meat supply to the finest farm-to-table restaurants in the AVL area & as a stop along the WNC Cheese Trail. The farm also hosts seasonal events & festivals. For more farm fun, the sustainable Flying Cloud Farm is just 5 minutes away where you can treat yourself to a vibrant U-pick bouquet of native flowers & a bushel of fresh berries when in season.
Take a 20-minute drive to the eccentric & trendy city of Asheville, where you can lose yourself within a host of unique shops, art galleries, award-winning restaurants & local breweries. You may also journey into the historic and tree-lined streets of Biltmore Village where you can soak in the period architecture, shop custom-designed jewelry, clothing & home accessories, or dine at one of the fantastic farm-to-table restaurants. Biltmore Village is located minutes from the iconic Biltmore Estate, America's Largest Home.
Fire On The Mountain is a quick 15-minute drive to the entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway where you can drive for miles & take in breathtaking seasonal views, with countless viewing stops & trails for scenic hiking.
For nearby area hiking, check out Bearwallow Mountain Trail, an easy 1-mile hike that reaches a grassy meadow at its summit & features a nearly 360° view that includes Mt. Mitchell and Mt. Pisgah (you can also see Mt. Pisgah from the home). Stroll through the wildflowers & picnic alongside the grazing cattle that call this mountaintop home.
After your hike, reward yourself with a cold craft beer from Whistlehop Brewing. Nestled on a sprawling 3 acres, this family-friendly train-themed taproom offers a 6-hole mini-golf course & other fun activities including disc golf, connect 4, a half-scale bowling lane, bocce, a giant culvert slide & soccer area. Gather around the fire pit & take in beautiful mountain views from the covered open-air deck while enjoying a selection of rotating food trucks. Also nearby, Turgua Brewing is situated beside Cane Creek, offering live music & regular food trucks, along with craft ciders, meads & ales.
