This incredible, affordable Lake Superior WATERFRONT property sits on over 2 acres and is nestled directly on the shores of majestic Lake Superior. Approximately 1 hour* North of Grand Marias, Minnesota & 1/2 hour* South of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The property is very private and close (but not too close ;) to Thunder Bay, which makes it very convenient for groceries and shopping. This amazing location is surrounded by incredible nature, adventures & historical interests and guests can choose to do as much or little as they wish.

The Cottage is absolutely perfect for those living in or near Thunder Bay in need of a quick escape or for any North Shore adventurer looking for a private Lake Superior experience amongst nature's most incredible canvas - with all the comforts of home.

The house is perched on a slope overlooking Lake Superior, which offers the most incredible views. No road or path intercepts the house from the lake - it is literally in the front yard! Guests will enjoy the groomed hiking trails just behind the house, which offer panoramic views of Lake Superior. The Cottage is on “The Lake Superior Circle Tour”, which is a 1,300 mile self-guided tour around the largest fresh water lake in the world. Here guests will discover Lake Superior's many islands & inlets - not seen on the Minnesota side.

Make no mistake. The house is directly ON the shores of Lake Superior. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE because there is absolutely NOTHING like being ON Lake Superior and experiencing the powerful waves of The Great Gitche Gumee. ONE-LEVEL-LIVING:
The Cottage allows you to indulge in all the things you love with an updated fully-equipped kitchen, stainless appliances and separate dining & living areas. Satellite Internet provides FREE high speed & unlimited connection to the rest of the world while providing entertainment via large Samsung televisions w/ FREE Netflix & Amazon movies. Two bedrooms are tucked away from the main living areas so guests can escape to a private space when desired. Heated “under blankets” at the foot of the beds in cooler months add an extra level of comfort & coziness. A large bathroom hosts a shower/tub combination, lighted mirror w/lots of fresh, hot water & excellent water pressure. One-level living makes it easy for everyone - especially those with physical limitations.

MAIN LIVING AREA:
Large windows absolutely flood the interior space with light while vaulted ceilings provide an open, spacious feel. The entire area frames Lake Superior, which always commands (and deserves) full attention. When the sun goes down turn off the lights, count one million stars or search for the Northern Lights - especially on a clear, dark night. Curl up with a warm blanket on the large sectional sofa and watch movies you never have time for w/ FREE Netflix & Amazon movies. Scour through a large selection of DVD classics and play them on an "old fashioned" DVD player. The gas fireplace adds heat and ambiance using a wall mounted thermostat for quick coziness on a cool evening.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS:
Could the outdoor spa be the perfect place to enjoy a starlit night showered under the Northern Lights? Well, YES! The spa (hot tub) is located just out the front door on the deck overlooking Lake Superior. Could there be a more perfect place for it? Well, NO! Maybe you prefer to wrap up in a woolen blanket beside the outdoor fire table on the front deck during a cool, summer evening or crisp autumn night? Or build a fire in front of the lake and toast marshmallows? Your time, your choice.

Of course we love options so there just happens to be this well lit meandering path from the house leading to an outdoor wood-burning fire pit close to the shoreline...so maybe don’t forget those marshmallows? Here you will also find OUR favorite: THE LOWER DECK, which literally hangs over Lake Superior and provides the most INCREDIBLE panoramic views. It could be the perfect place to read that book you never seem to have time to get to or meditate while absorbing vitamin D - the natural way.

SUMMARY: There really is something very powerful & magical about being surrounded by The Great Gitche Gumme that makes one feel so small in the presence of a lake so big. But you really must experience it yourself to understand.
