Cool old house that worked well enough for our needs. Nobody would sleep in the basement because of a big spider. Had a great meal just down the road at Town Tavern. Not too far from Boston.

We had plenty of room for our group to sleep comfortably. The host provided extras for guest use like q-tips, shampoo, laundry soap. The kitchen is modern with newer small & large appliances in the charm of an older house. There are four tests for the house. Be aware there is no main floor bathroom!

The property was adequate for our needs. A few things could be improved. There is little furniture especially places for clothes and the bbq needed a proper clean. We couldn't use it. There were not enough plates when we arrived but the property owner sorted this immediately. All in all the property satisfied our needs.

The house was a perfect size for what was needed. Plenty of beds that were comfortable. The basement room is far from the other bedrooms so something to think about if you are traveling with younger kids. Finding a rental with 2 full bathrooms in this area was challenging so this was a plus and a must for us! The home is older but updated and seems to be still going through some updates, not an issue just noted. Some closet doors were off, the screen door was not able to stay closed. None of that affected the stay just noting. The home doesn’t have central A/c but has window units in each bedroom and living room that cooled the home, but if you have been the MA before you know most homes do not have AC! Easy walk to the train or bus stop to get in and out of Boston.I would stay here again!

Had a great stay. Was initially nervous as we didn’t get arrival information until very late the day of arrival, however communication was good after that. House fit out family well and location was great for our visit to Boston.

The house was perfect for hosting a gathering of friends - everyone had plenty of space, the rooms were clean, and Lucas was very responsive. The roads/parking was a little confusing to navigate for out-of-towners but that didn't affect the quality of our stay whatsoever. We would come back again!

Location is NOT walkable to the T (subway); we had to drive about eight minutes to get to the Alewife station and pay to park in the garage there. Main floor was OK. Upstairs had a weird vibe-- bedrooms were under-furnished and showing wear, bathroom was showing an awful lot of wear. Basement bedroom lacked a door and that bathroom was extremely tight. Overall, house has had a lot of minor touch-ups and not gotten the real renovation it needs.

Parking was convenient and the house was very roomy. However, in the evenings, mornings and off and on through the night, the heating system sounded like someone was hitting the pipes with a hammer. Our little dog was terrorized and our sleep was often disrupted. That was really our only complaint but it was a big one.

Beautifully decorated and perfect location

We truly enjoyed our stay here. All the amenities, furniture, & decorations were so well thought out. After a long day of sightseeing in Boston it was so nice to come home to your house. We loved all the space we had and hope to come back again! Thank you!

The dining room and kitchen were well stocked with kitchen tools and very helpful for our large group, and we greatly appreciated the host allowing us to add on additional people a few weeks before the stay after booking months beforehand. We were not happy with the cleanliness of the property or the condition of some of the rooms. There were opened boxes left in some rooms, closets with broken doors hanging off, cigarette butts on the porch, and repair materials left out on the floor in the basement where it was easy for our kids to find them. Our kids did enjoy the privacy of the finished basement. The beds were comfortable but we had to wait a few days to get a response from the host about bedding for the sofa (we confirmed with him we had 11 people weeks in advance) and I would not agree that the house sleeps 12. There are beds for 10 and neither of the couches were pullout couches so were not good for sleeping. We ended up purchasing extra sheets and an air mattress for the 11th person. The location was great, we walked to pool across the street and shopped at nearby restaurants a short drive away. A smaller group that doesn't mind some disrepair would enjoy the house.

EZ Stay

Property was in average condition. Neither grill nor ice maker worked. Spartan interior decorating. Overgrown lawn. Lacks bathroom outlets. Lack of mirrors throughout house. House was very clean with comfortable seating.

We were extremely disappointed with the condition of this property. Upon arrival, there was trash surrounding the home and throughout the yard, including drug paraphernalia. Inside, the cleanliness was unacceptable—bed sheets were covered in hair, and there was hair in the shower as well. Overall, the house was very poorly maintained.There were also several maintenance issues. The upstairs bathroom sink handle came off in your hand when turning it on, and there was no hot water due to a rusted and nonfunctional water heater.Additionally, the layout was inconvenient, as there is no bathroom on the main level, only one in the basement and one upstairs.Based on our experience, we would not recommend this property to others. All furniture was very old. The heat and AC did not work.
