This particular unit was not managed by the "host", it was simply posted on VRBO. It was managed by Shell Vacations Club(the host used them to rent this unused time share for them),This was not evident until problems with switching my husband as the primary check in(instead of mine) due to my mom dying. The fees that were provided on VRBO did not disclose fees in regards to changing names on reservation. This information was sent via "messages" from the vacation club. When I informed the "host/vacation club" in messages/inbox that my husband was still coming, they said I had to pay a name change fee that was not part of the VRBO fees or charges. In their message to me they said, " Wyndham won't allow the other guests to check in without you unless we change the name on the reservation". The resort had no issues with the name change and did not request a fee when I called them directly. I also asked if my trip insurance would cover this cost they did not give me an answer. This fee is not the responsibility of the guests, it is a fee the rental host has to pay when this situation arises, and they tried to pass it onto me as a guest behind the scenes of the VRBO fee list. VRBO info conflicted with this host in regards to check in also. The resort property was nice and the resort was easy to deal with, but I will not rent from this so called VRBO HOST or any affiliated properties using Shell Vacations Club again.
