This was by far the worst vacation rental I have ever booked. The host did not reach out once during our stay; not even to ensure that we checked in ok. The house had a bad odor of possibly sewage back up due to the downstairs bathroom. The place was not clean and the furniture is outdated and on its last leg. Additionally, the kitchen area is infested with sugar ants. We encountered two large flying cockroaches during our 1 week stay. The host was made aware of our issues via Vrbo and did nothing to try and reconcile.

We strongly dispute this review, as it is misleading and does not reflect the actual communication history of this booking.
The guest did not report these alleged issues to us through the VRBO messaging platform when they supposedly arose, and did not give us a proper opportunity to inspect, verify, or resolve them during the stay. Instead, VRBO was contacted several days later and only shortly before checkout, at the same time compensation was being pursued.
We take all legitimate concerns seriously and respond when guests communicate them properly and in a timely manner. In this case, the pattern of raising numerous complaints late in the stay, without first engaging the host directly, appears more consistent with an attempt to JUSTIFY A REFUND than with a genuine effort to have issues resolved.
For that reason, we DO NOT accept this review as a fair or accurate account of the stay.
