Gorgeous house close to the lake
We absolutely loved our stay. We needed a place close to our house in Long Lake to host additional family, and this exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of space for all, and quiet bedrooms in the back to sleep in away from the rest of the house and morning kid noise.
It feels more like a boutique hotel and is decorated exceptionally with beautiful antiques and thoughtful design.
We cooked a couple of times and found the kitchen very well stocked with everything we needed.
There is not much to the neighborhood but it’s a quick drive to Long Lake and a few nearby towns.
Absolutely loved it and would stay again!

Historic but not maintained. Don’t be fooled
It would have been nice to know the home had no air conditioning. The upstairs was over 85 degrees at 5pm and we had to wait til 11 pm for it to cool down. The fridge and kitchen was filthy and I would not cook in that kitchen. The owners had chickens and had over 20 dozen eggs in the fridge. The photos on line are nothing like reality. The place is historic and cool but clearly not maintained. For what I paid it definitely wasn’t worth it.

We’re sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. We’ve never advertised there’s air conditioning, which usually ends up making things worse, not better. We provided the AC in one room thinking it was a courtesy. But we shouldn’t have, and forgot to advise that it might be counterproductive, since we had excellent sleeping weather this past week. No good deed I suppose. As for the kitchen, we’re all confused. I worked personally with the cleaner to make sure it was spick-and-span for your early check-in request. Since your checkout I’ve had multiple people look at the condition of it to be sure we’re not crazy, or blind. One of them even said of the kitchen “it looks too clean to cook in.” If the guest was offended or inconvenienced by the eggs in the fridge (others have appreciated having free fresh eggs) we would have gladly removed them. Likewise with the various condiments left for your use. Finally, I’ll have a stern talking-to with my lawn guy. He was supposed to come on Thursday or Friday, so I’ll grant you there were some shaggy bits. He can’t make it rain though, though, so there’s nothing he could have done about the dry patches you show. We wish you’d mentioned these gripes while you were here—we’d have done our best to set things right
