Barrier island beauty- Sunrises, sunsets from ocean to bay.
This is a couples or family home. Small pet friendly. (We provide a kayak, paddle boards, bikes), beach walks, swimming, fishing and more. Great local restaurant and store. Outdoor shower after the beach or indoor bath, then grill on the comfortable deck. Take ferry to island. The best open air ride. 60 minute train ride to Manhattan. Best of both worlds. Bring your friends or family to this great seasonal area.
NOTE: This is a seasonal property with availability from May through October.

Location was so great and easy, bikes and beach chairs galore, all amenities, great communication. Price was good considering the high season of late July. Thanks for the use of your home!

This was the perfect Fire Island home, comfortable, relaxed, and beachy. Our family cooked every night in the well-stocked kitchen, ate dinner on the front porch, enjoyed the outdoor shower and had a great time at the beach, with plenty of towels and chairs.

Great Stay in Fair Harbor

Stayed out at the house with friends and our 2YO. Location couldn't be beat, with a playground and calm bay beach right around the corner.

We had a wonderful stay! Jeff was an incredibly gracious host—always available to answer our questions and eager to help whenever needed. Check-in was a breeze, and the house was just a short walk from both the beach and the dock. The outdoor space was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the island, and the rooms were cozy and comfortable.We truly enjoyed our visit.Thank you, Jeff!

Fire Island sells itself! Magical few days and this place was perfect had everything you needed!! Loved it.

The good - Fair Harbor is a great place and the cottage was well-located and has some 'old charm'. The owner communicated well. The bad - this rental is not fit for purpose or at least certainly not at this price. It isn't set up to rent to third parties. I've rented in Fair Harbor for literally decades and elsewhere through VRBO so I expected a clean and relatively well set up cottage. It was messy and in some rooms, not clean - spatters of paint still to be found on the floor (which itself buckled in the centre of the property, giving you a sense of a very uneven surface). Several of the bedrooms had ceiling tiles that were damaged and in one case there had clearly been a leak and the corner tile was moldy. The living room and kitchen were extremely cluttered - frankly it feels like these owners just do not want to throw anything away. I know how that feels (!) but there again I don't charge people to use my place. Repairs were badly needed throughout. The front door had a plastic sheet nailed to it on the inside, which clearly had broken as there were plastic 'shards' found nearby. The AC in the living room was ineffective. The outdoor BBQ was rusty and the burners, when they worked, did not give anything like an even burn. The dryer didn't work properly (when we arrived there were damp towels and sheets still in the dryer). This is an old, rather shoddy and disheveled cottage with a lot of charm but for the price we paid it should have been renovated and upgraded.
