We loved the cabin, it was so relaxing and lovely. We appreciated all the easy instructions for how to operate facilities, nearby attractions, etc. Would certainly stay again.

The cabin was so cute and the view was amazing. The directions were perfect and made finding it easy. We stayed really only long enough to sleep- but we enjoyed a game of scrabble. Both beds were comfortable. The outhouse was clean and well stocked with anything you might have forgotten. I would recommend to anyone traveling to Denali.

Excellent stay. The pictures are exactly what it’s like. Shower worked well, outhouse did what it needed to do, appliances were as advertised. And just 15 minutes from Denali. A stay doesn’t get much more awesome than this.

Cozy getaway!

Great spot to getaway for a weekend in Denali. Short drive to the national park. Loved the cleanliness of the outhouse.

Great Stay near Denali NP

This cabin worked out very well for my wife and me for two nights while we visited Denali NP and the surrounding area. We wanted to be close to nature and away from the tourist scene and this fit that perfectly!

I was lucky to get this booking. Simple and small. The outdoor shower and outhouse was no problem at all - very clean and well thought out. I recommend this place for your Denali stay.

Incredible dry cabin

This is far an away the best dry cabin experience in Alaska. Hot shower, beautiful outhouse and the most incredible views right in your room...I want to move here.

The best part about this location was the incredible views. We love RV camping but this felt almost like a step down from even campgrounds in some capacity. What worked:- The location (stunning views)- The fridge - The heater- The shower (though cold outside it did its job)What we didn’t like:- Stove was unreliable and felt unsafe at times. We believe it was letting out too much propane it even set off the smoke detector - Bed upstairs was embarrassingly bad. Futon downstairs was marginally better but with rods that stuck in your back instead of bad coils. - Potty did not have enough sanitizer and was pretty rank - Washing dishes without running water is pretty terrible. If you have a kitchen you should have a water pump- Water from the sink just dumps on the ground without a p-trap. - Provided towels were terrible quality and small. Only one towel for the kitchen and two bath towels were provided. - Bad quality pillows

Thank you for your candid review. We are sorry that you didn’t enjoy your visit. A tiny rustic, dry cabin is not everyone’s idea of a good time. If you are looking for a more posh, resort hotel, there are many to choose from in the area. Our target demographic however, is adventurous travelers who are interested in an authentic experience of rural Alaskan living in a stunning natural setting. We hope you enjoy your travels in the 49th state and find the Alaska that you are looking for. Thank you for your visit.

Moonrise cabin is highly convenient to Denali National Park. There are also trails outside the park that actually starts near the cabin. The cabin, outhouse, and outdoor shower are basic, rustic, but clean. The cabin has no running water. It does have a fridge and a stove. There is a small space heater that works very well. Dishes, cups, utensils are available. The coffee is drip coffee and excellent.The hosts put in nice little touches like a med kit, ear plugs, cough drops, etc in the outhouse. There is no latch to the door nor is there lighting so a middle of the night visit needs a flashlight.The outdoor shower water temperature is warm but not hot enough on cold damp days. Plus it is open air so you get cold trying to dry yourself. There is also no latch to this door.The pictures suggest you are in a peaceful, secluded environment. You’re actually on the same lot, 50 feet away from the main house. As long as you know these things and are okay with them, then it’s a great place. We certainly wouldn’t mind coming back. It serves the basic function necessary for rest and access to the park.

My partner and I had a beautiful stay at the Moonrise Cabin. The view from the cabin is breathtaking and serene and we spent our nights there relaxing and enjoying it in the cozy cabin. Our first night we saw a moose and her two calves snacking on brush just up the road!The cabin is small as you would expect, but laid out very nicely. Everything was clean, outhouse was exactly as expected and stocked with toiletries and wipes. Very close to Denali National Park but away from the summer crowds. Becky and Terry were great hosts and quickly answered any questions and also made sure we were stocked with water. We had an amazing time and definitely would come and stay again and recommend the Moonrise Cabin to our family and friends! This was our first time in Alaska and we cannot wait to return :)
