Overall the cabin was good. The refrigerator hadnt been cleaned and there were fingerprints all over the slider door. I'll didn't know until we were on our way that there was dogs. We stayed due to a formal wedding in town. We were greeted by 5 dogs when we got there and I did get jumped on. My concern was getting jumped on with our dress clothes. I dont like leaving reviews but I think dogs need to be put on the description for those who may not want to deal with it..

I will talk with my cleaner about making sure that the refrigerator is cleaned and doors are cleaned. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. It is stated in the description that it is a working ranch and that we have animals that are loose. I apologize that you got jumped on. I try to put them in a kennel when guests are expected, but it is their home, and it’s hard to keep them locked up all weekend.

Great place for a weekend getaway

Nice quiet property with a great view of the hills and the Longhorn cattle! The cabin was super clean. Would stay again.

Beautiful cabin and farm views

So nice and clean. Owner very nice and easy to communicate with before and on our trip. It was a pleasure staying and we will be back!

This place was exactly what I expected. Pictures were exactly the way the property was. No hidden surprises. Everything was very nice and clean and we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you for a clean place to stay. That is very important to us.

Glad I found this place, I will definitely stay again

I am not big on long reviews, so I will keep this short. The place was great. Very clean and very comfortable. The drive to Montauk is short. We met the owner and his daughter, very friendly and nice to talk to, you could tell how excited they were about their new endeavor (only open since May). My son and I are already talking about going back again soon.

Just what the offering described.

So clean it seemed brand new. The knotty pine interior was beautifully decorated with cowboy/longhorn motif. It was just perfect. The cabin are situated so the large number of gorgeous longhorn cattle are just a few yards from the back deck. If you want quiet and a star filled sky, this is the place for you.

Nothing Good about Experience

My husband and I were had reserved this property. Had a hard time finding it because address was skewed on mailbox. When my husband tried to get out of the car 6 or 7 dogs big and small and 1 two legged goat approached the car. They were barking and acted aggressively and did not react to his nice coaxing hoping they would let him pet them. We looked to see if they had collars with tags to show they had their shots but did not really look like it. There was no cell service so we could not call host or notify host that we could not get out of the car without knowing how aggressive the dogs would be. After waiting several minutes to see if they would go away, we decided to leave and find another place to stay. It wasn't until much later when we were able to email her that we had to leave the area, find a place to stay before it got too late, and a place where we could receive cell/internet service to notify her. It was a very unpleasant experience that we had NEVER encountered before. In fact, we NEVER encountered any dog on or near any property that we have rented in the past. There was no mention of all the dogs and goat on the listing to alert prospective renters of the situation. The animals had free rein of the property. The host should not assume all renters are dog/animal lovers!
