CAUTION: This property is straight up dangerous, the decks on the front and back second floor are rotting and busted. The place was supposedly cleaned but I would say not in a long while. There was a pile of trash on every trash can that stayed there the whole stay. Flys were everywhere from the trash. It was misadvertised as a 2 bath. It only had two bathrooms, one master and one extra. I stayed here with a group of guys and we were working. We finally pulled out on Friday and headed for hotels, we were booked until Sunday. I actually have never done that before. The dryer made all our clothes smell like fish, lol. I guess this is a dude fishing escape house. There was no soap/shampoo etc…

Our favorite house!

We come to Louisiana to fish often and of all of the houses we have rented, this is by far our favorite! Looking forward to our next trip, we will be staying here again!

Great stay on the water

Great stay overall ride on the water plenty of space. The only thing I wish is that the listing was accurate on the bathrooms. They’re only two bathrooms in the house.

Family & FISHING

We came into for a family funeral but we decided to try to make fun for the kids. We are a fishing and crabing family. This location was great for those things.

A time was had

Our stay was great! The house has a beautiful set up. The only problems were that we had to buy our own set of pots to cook and it would be nice to have patio furniture and bbq grill. Other than that we had a beautiful time thanks for sharing your home with my family.

Quiet get away

We stayed here for my son's 21st birthday. It served as a great location for peace and quiet with access to fishing but, also close enough for us to commute into New Orleans and enjoy Bourbon Street as part of the trip. The house had plenty of room and space for all of my kids to spread out and get their own space but also come together in the living and dining areas to enjoy each other's company. There are also quite a few local eats in Slidell that are excellent. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Neither I or the customer service people from Evolve were able to get in contact with the host and the cleanliness was poor to say the least and we had to wash all of the bedding and purchase plastic mattress covers and mattress pads because the mattresses were stained and unsanitary. We also had to buy cleaning materials and disinfectant to clean and sanitize the place. There’s mold on all of the entrances, rust in the refrigerator freezer, spiders everywhere and the oven is atrocious.

Location is great for crabbing. However, house is outdated. Lots of things need to be fixed since last visit (October 2024) but nothing fixed even after addressed in comments. Like the restroom and sink in the dock area, light fixtures in the dock, shelves in fridge are broken, kitchen sink is clogged. I love the location, just need to fix those issues then this house will be fabulous.

This listing is very misleading. The dock is not private. There is another rental on the property that has full access to the dock as well. We showed up to another group having a party on what I understood we had full access to. The owner basically rents one dock to two groups at once.

Family vacation great for crabbing

The house is in a nice location, best dir crabbing. Bottom level is old but we don’t really care because we don’t even use it. Inside the house is spacious for our needs, just need some dusting on ceiling fans and restroom vent fans. Mattress needs to be replaced bc it stumped in the middle. Other than that, we enjoy the house. My kids enjoy the bunk beds. Master bedroom is huge. The freezer is huge, exactly what we want it. Overall, 5 star

Quiet getaway

The home is large and had plenty of space for our family to spread out. The home is right on the water and has lovely views early in the morning. Would be nice to have some outdoor furniture to sit out and enjoy the sunrise. The kitchen has the basics: dishes, silverware, pots and pans, dishwasher, cups, coffee maker, etc. It was missing trash bags though. Through no fault of the owner, the water coming out of the faucet is less than ideal. I recommend picking up bottled water on your way in. There were plenty of towels for both bathrooms, and the water was nice and hot for showers. The house is functional, comfortable, and roomy. A great place to gather after a busy day in NOLA.

Could have been cleaner

The house was nice and big but it was not very clean. The freezer was very dirty and gross. All of the ceiling fans had mounds of dust on them. The ceilings had black dust on them. All of the shelves in the living room needed dusting. There dead bugs in some kind of wax filled glasses used for decor. The floors really needed a good mopping. There were no trash cans in the bathrooms (I searched). The deck was beautiful, the house was spacious. Beds and baths were mostly clean (1 shower had bugs and stains). I just recommend a professional clean before guests arrive.

Weekend Fishing Trip

This property needs a little TLC. The front porch of the house is in bad shape. Bird droppings everywhere, wasp nests, paint chipping off, ect... The outside of the house needs some attention. The inside is fine. The pros are good tv, wireless is fine, gas stove, washing machine, two fridges (no ice maker), and AC works well. The cons: Only two bathrooms, very sparse on kitchen ware, no board games, the overall condition of the property is in need of repair. Overall feeling was that we spent to much for this place. If you have your own boat and want to use it as a place to go out and fish with guy friends, it's fine. If you're bringing ladies and kids with you, it might be a mixed bag.

Our stay

The pictures in the ad from vrbo are considerably better than in real life. Vrbo said it sleeps 14 but there are only 2.5 bathrooms. The half bath was completely wrecked and inoperable. It is on the dock in the deckhouse. It should not have been inlcuded. I do not think we are clean freaks but a vrbo property should be spotless. We had to clean the bathrooms and the kitchen again. The garbage from the previous guests had not been removed, the air filters were hideous and the compartment filled w dead roaches. We changed them ourselves. The filters were present just not used. There was also a roach issue in the kitchen. There were missing barstools and towels for two people. We ended up purchasing our own towels and wash cloths. The refrigerator was damaged and forced us to take pictures so we would not be blamed for the damage. For the price we paid, I was expecting much more. This was our vacation and the state of the property was embarrassing. The Blue Crab fell way short. I did speak with the property manager, CJ, 3 times. CJ was very respectful, cordial, and apologetic. In the end it was still all excuses. My wife contacted the property manager who was listed in the displayed instruction binder. The binder was not up to date and the new property manager requested that we not follow the displayed instructions and contact him instead. This is very minor but taken as a whole it is part of the problem that needs to be resolved. We do not recommend this property.

Pictures do not show the problems

ARRIVAL: When we arrived at 3:15 PM the front door was open and the house was filled with cigarette smoke. Immediately reached out to manager. MASTER: milk or food splashed across the TV screen. Blinds and window sills were filthy. We found a pink baby bottle in the bed(under blanket and sheets) which leads me to think the linens were never cleaned after last guest. Closet in master bath was open-this is the place they throw things that guest leave. Horrifying and scary. No trash cans in any bathrooms. Towels were clean but they’re were only nine. *****No extra sheets, pillow cases, towels, or blankets. No wash cloths or hand towels. ***We had to purchase wash cloths and hand towels for our traveling guests. Batteries low/dead for most light fan remotes... No lamp in bedrooms or bulbs were out. Only clock in the house is in the master bath. Minor detail. FRONT BEDROOM BY MASTER: Pests- spiders. Blinds and sills filthy. I mean really filthy. FRONT BEDROOM NEAREST BAR: Very unclean, needs dusting- sills filthy. LIVINGROOM: TV probably has blown speakers- even at a low level it’s buzzes and it’s hard to hear at times. Sticky cup rings on counters by the TV. Blinds and sill filthy. This room is comfortable- and great view- but not clean. KITCHEN: Refrigerator unclean and smelly. Counters/ sink uncleared Toaster sticky and food all over it. Blinds and sills disgusting ***Mold on dishes ***No dish drainer or towels ***Stove was unusable- bad gas smell (scared my guests and they had to air out the house) Burners worked fine, oven was the problem. ***Food Items in the pantry- not ours. LAUNDRY ROOM: best room in the house. SMALL HALLWAY BATHROOM: No trash can Smelly TWIN BUNK ROOM: Missing light bulbs Very, very dirty Sills and blinds terribly dirty Fan/light does not work ****Found left over items in drawers and window sills(fake eyelashes) Not sure what the green stuff was in the drawer- slime maybe. Drawers are soooo dirty QUEEN BEDROOM: *****The mattress was the most disgusting thing- had a very big lump in the middle of mattress. *** No mattress pads on any beds- DONT LOOK UNDER THE SHEETS! Bed was lazily made. Lamp didn’t work Sills and blinds very dirty. VENTS: Really grosThis house is unsanitary. View- fantastic! This could be a spectacular place. A professional cleaning- Some decent linens and some attention to details would be great!!!

Hi Angie, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: - Upon your arrival, the door was open because a maintenance worker was fixing the blinds and replacing the bedroom blinds. They informed me no one was smoking. - I change every sheet and comforter myself to ensure all linens are cleaned before each guest’s arrival. - The closet in the master bath is used as a storage room; it was accidentally left unlocked by the maintenance worker. Typically, this closet is not available for guests to use. - There are trash cans in both bathrooms. - There were nine towels in the master bathroom, and several more towels were left in the other bathroom underneath the sink. - There is an entire closet with extra sheets that guests are welcome to use if needed. - All sills are cleaned after each guest. Also, I checked the TV; it is working, and there are no blown speakers. - I was at the property within 30 minutes of your call, and I was happy to replace two light bulbs. While I was at the property, you let me know everything was fine. - I confirmed there is no mold on the dishes. There was one plastic bowl that a previous guest had microwaved too long so it did not look clean; it was, but it did have bubbly spots on it. - Before your arrival, there were no issues with the stove, and it had just been refilled with 100 gallons of propane. The stove had a gas smell due to user error as your group left it on, and all the propane leaked out. I did all I could to accommodate your needs during your stay and went to generous measures to make things right. I will continue to do all I can to provide guests with an enjoyable stay.

Great Memories

Property was great. Cooking hardware (pots and pans) could be updated. We enjoyed the fishing dock in the evenings. Some of the steps going to the front door need to be replaced. We enjoyed the open living area because it gave us plenty of space to relax.

This property I must say exceeded my expectations. We had a wonderful peaceful time here.

Im so happy we decided to stay here. Even though it rained one day, I’ve never enjoyed seeing rain until I experienced it here. I enjoyed my coffee every morning while viewing the lake. The house is very spacious and gave all my teens their privacy, they also played football in the afternoons..so glad I didn’t stay in a hotel. Will defined be coming back to enjoy this peace i found here.

some small issues that were handled by the property manager quickly. We will rent again.

House in disrepair

The home is in disrepair. Half the electrical outlets and fans did not work. The appliances did not work. We had to buy lightbulbs because half the lights were burned up. The docks and the garage were hazardous zooms. Sewage leaks under the house. The last day we had no water to clean up or use bathrooms or take showers.

Hurricane damage left in disrepair

The place was still a mess from the Hurricane. Bottom floor a complete mess, docs unsafe, fishing house no water in sinks or toilet, grills al completely rusted out. May still have come, but still expect a refund of some sort because we paid full price when it was still very much in disrepair. Poor job of customer service for a repeat customer.

wonderful time with family

It was our first time at that part of the ocean and it was very different. Our family had very fun time catching crabs, watching gators, and going to New Orleans. Host was very nice and care

Perfect for a large group

We had 12 people, the outside of the house could use some upkeep. The inside is just as pictured though. Our families had a great time by the water and hanging out in the house.
