Chappaquiddick is a perfect oasis from busyness of Edgartown. The island has nature trails and gorgeous beaches. The house is only 2 miles from the Chappy ferry. It’s easy park on the Chappy side and walk over on the ferry to go out to dinner, shop, get a drink or an ice cream. A perk of staying on Chappy avoiding the struggle to park in Edgartown! The house has a pool and large outdoor deck which are perfect places to lounge. Access to a brand new shared tennis/ pickleball court. This house is new to the rental market!

Had a wonderful time with our family of four. We played ping pong, tennis, basketball, and swam laps in the pool. Most of our days were spent at an empty Chappy beach or bustling Edgartown. The perfect summer week.

Overall, this home was absolutely fabulous for our family holiday! The main house is ideal for adults, The pool house features a bathroom, kitchenette, and an outdoor shower just steps away from the pool and courts. While we had a wonderful time, there are several unique details about the property's layout and location that we wish we had known before our journey. The living area is upstairs, while two bedrooms and two bathrooms are downstairs. If you are traveling with older individuals or anyone with mobility issues, this layout may not be ideal. The primary bathroom's shower is located outside. My mother, who celebrated her 80th birthday during this trip, thought it was an experience of a lifetime, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind! Nearby towns are close to Edgartown, you can easily explore one town per day! You will be taking a ferry back and forth every time you want to leave Chappy. With a Vehicle: It cost us 27 return for 3 people. Pedestrian, 5 return. There is absolutely nothing to buy or eat on Chappy Island. You must be completely stocked up on groceries before you cross over. Chappaquiddick feels incredibly remote at first. Do not trust your GPS once you turn right onto Narragansett Ave. Stay on the road until it dead-ends and forces you to turn either Right or Left. Turn Left. Immediately take another hard Left. Follow that road until you see the tennis courts, then just follow the remaining road straight in. We will be back.

The location is great; quiet, scenic. The tennis courts are awesome and we used them almost everyday. However:1. The house has a distinct odor. When we arrived the windows were closed and there was a Glade Plugin plugged in. We found that smell to be overwhelming so we unplugged it and quickly discovered the house has a musty smell. We opened the window and the problem was mostly solved. If the weather had been very hot and had we needed AC that would not have worked.2. The listed said 2 queen beds. This is inaccurate: the house has 1 queen and 1 full. This ended up being a pretty meaningful problem for us, as a full isn’t really big enough for 2 kids to share (our kids, anyway). 3. Friends of the owner showed up on the tennis court to play. They seemed to know re tears were there. I had to have an uncomfortable conversation and ask them to leave as we were about to use the court. They seemed to think they had permission to do this.4. There is no microwave. The listing doesn’t say that it does, but I just assumed it would have something that basic.5. We weren’t given directions to the house, and accidentally drove down a trail and almost needed a tow.6. The dryer is broken. When we asked about this we were told to use a stick to keep the door latched. We tried this but couldn’t figure it out.7. There is no indoor dining table. We mostly ate outside (and the outdoor table area is lovely) but had the weather been bad or mosquitoes been bad, it would have been a problem.

This is a bummer of a review as the house has so much potential and could be so cool. Unfortunately the hosts have not done an adequate job of presenting the property. Never received a check in email had to figure out how to access the property, the kitchen did not have all the items required to cook, there was no shampoo or conditioner in the house, and only a few towels. During the stay the lack of communication continued as we could not access Wi-Fi and the host took at full day to respond. Would also warn that the listing is not completely accurate as it lists having air-conditioning throughout the house, but the pool house and the other space is not air-conditioned and may not be usable to depending on the time of the year.Not to Pyle on, but I will since I’m here there is also answer at the house bottom floor top floor everywhere. Again super bummed that this is a poor view as the property as real potential and could be magnificent. It just is not well put together and the host is not very responsive.
