The Watch Tower is a two-story retreat once used as a horse-racing lookout. With a bedroom offering 360-degree views of the private wildlife sanctuary, a kitchen and dining space downstairs, and a private outdoor deck, it is designed for couples or solo travelers seeking nature and peace. The enclosed double shower under the stars makes for an unforgettable experience.

We are a family-run conservancy and live on the farm, so one of us will always be around to help out. We share our phone number during check-in, and guests are welcome to call or send a message at any point of their stay with us.

Sanctuary Farm is located on the shores of Lake Naivasha, in the heart of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. Guests can explore:

The easiest way to reach the Watch Tower is by car. Taxis and boda bodas (motorbike taxis) are available locally for shorter trips, but we recommend private transport for comfort and convenience.

Please note that this is a family-run farm, not a hotel; we ask you to treat the house and grounds with respect.

Fantastic stay

The Watch Tower is stunning and close enough to the restaurant and other amenities in case of any urgent issue. Overall this is a beautiful, calming space (though the stairs to the bedroom do need extra attention). Definitely returning.

Retreating in nature

Loved my stay at sanctuary heart. The watch tower is in the middle of the farm so you are always surrounded by some animals and steps away from the main restaurant. The food was great - I did not need to bother cooking for myself. Ahead of my trip to Naivasha, I had reached out to sanctuary farm to inquire about some of the experienced and activities that they offer. The team was super responsive and helpful- not a single question went unanswered. I also appreciate the cashless system at the farm. I did not have to worry about carrying any cash with me. Really enjoyed my stay - however brief.

Perfect little oasis

We really enjoyed our stay! It seems small at first blush, but the close proximity somehow made it more special us (we were a couple that stayed for one night after climbing elephant hill). The views were amazing and we enjoyed the morning visit from a troop of curious monkeys. Would highly recommend.

Amazing and relaxing

Sanctuary Farm is a very special place. Somewhere you can walk with zebras and giraffes and relax like nowhere else. In addition, the food in the restaurant is good and the bed in the watchtower very comfortable. It's not cheap, but it is worth every penny

Beautiful place in Naivasha

We loved our stay at the watch tower. It has all the amenities for a comfortable stay, and it's in the middle of a sanctuary, really close to lake Naivasha. You can spot animals roaming around every day from your bedroom, and you're free to explore the whole sanctuary. There is a nice restaurant on site serving drinks and pizzas. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to return.

Watchtower for ever

I fell in love with this wonderful place. It is peaceful, animals are all around, and the watchtower is beautifully made. I like the architecture of the little house. The shower under the stars, the view from the bed…I wished I could stay longer! The food in the restaurant is full of flavours, there is a lot of love in the hearts from the people that work here. I will remember this place the rest of my life. Petra

Such a peaceful refuge. We were able to observe lots of animals, including giraffes from very close. I liked that there are no noisy safari-style jeeps. One can quietly walk, ride, boat, or cycle around. The vibe is simple and caring. The watchtower is a cosy hideout with a great view. The staff is wonderful. And the indoor/outdoor restaurant is *amazing*. Every meal we ate there was exquisite. Thank you.

Living among wildlife - a truly unreal experience

We had an amazing time at Sanctuary Farm by Lake Naivasha in Kenya — it was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. The accommodation in the tower was both cozy and exotic. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and to prepare our own meals, although we didn’t cook because the on-site restaurant fully met our needs — which was especially important for us as vegetarians! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist us with anything we needed. We only stayed in the tower for one night, but what a night it was! In the morning, we woke up to find zebras and a giraffe standing right outside our porch — it was absolutely stunning and surreal! The night safari also exceeded our expectations. We honestly hadn’t expected much, but it turned out to be an unforgettable adventure.

Amazing Experience!

The experience right from the gate arrival was amazing. It was pleasant to see so many animals so close to the house, and everywhere really. We enjoyed the cosy feel of the Watch Tower. The outdoor shower was awesome. A few things: - We didn’t find the flashlight in the basket on the table as noted in the manual, but we made do with our phones. - The back door to the shower was especially difficult to lock. We had to ask one of the night guards to assist us with it. We think you should get a carpenter to repair it. - The mattress was a little worn down. Our backs and necks were strained due to the sunken middle section and high pillows. The kitchen was sufficient for our needs and we really appreciated that. It was unfortunate that it rained very hard on our night stay, otherwise we would have enjoyed the bonfire. Maybe next time. However, the rain made the evening quite cosy as well. We enjoyed food at two of your recommended eating places: KIJIKO and the Coffee Hut, both were really exceptional recommendations.

Things ti do better

El lugar es increíble, la torre es fantástica muy bien equipada, pero cuando llegamos nos faltó más información de dónde estábamos y las posibilidades que teníamos, también al siguiente llegamos sobre las dos y media y estaban dos chicas limpiando el horno, que no habíamos utilizado y no pudimos hacernos la comida, estuvimos esperando un largo rato y al final tuvimos que irnos, cuando regresamos vimos que habían cambiado el electrodoméstico, sinceramente lo podrían haber hecho en otro momento en el que no hubiera clientes porque nos obligó a ir a comer fuera y no entraba en nuestros planes.
