We loved our time at the Hohnstead!! The communication as we were arriving was fantastic- we wound up arriving very late at night but everything we needed to do to get access to the cabin was very straightforward, even in the dark. And the Stargazer Cabin lived up to its name! The stars we saw as soon as we arrived were enough to know that we were in the right place. We set up some chairs on the small patio and cozied up with an extra blanket (that was provided) to stargaze. The next morning when we woke up (in the daylight!), we could actually see how gorgeous the forest was. The cabin is far enough into the woods where it feels more like you're a part of the forest than part of a campsite. For those of us traveling from the city, peace and quiet in a wooded setting felt extremely refreshing and restful. We got to catch up with Garrett and Alla a couple of times, who are great hosts! Super friendly; loved hearing their stories. And the way they've put the site together with the outdoor amenities, was very impressive, and worked great. We stayed during the second week of October, and I will say we got very lucky with the weather; we had 70-degree days and the cabin felt very cozy. Just a couple days after we left, though, we received a message from Garrett showing the whole place covered in snow! We'll keep this place on our list to re-visit, though we may go just a bit earlier in the season next time!
