Relax and enjoy the lakefront property. Great place for fishing, kayaking, and other water activities. Newly renovated house with brand new decks overlooking the lake. Wake up to a peaceful waterfront view. Finish the day off making smores at the fire pit. Short drive to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos. Many local hiking trails to explore. Pets are allowed and must be included during booking. Please check-off the box to select (I am traveling with pets) under travelers when booking.

Location and amenities were top notch, we hope to stay again. A little pricey for a single adult with kids but overall worth it for the peaceful atmosphere, kayaks, canoe and fishing tackle. We had wonderful grilled meals and invited friends in the area over for visits by the lake. Thank you for everything, Karl!

We recently spent 5 nights and this lakehouse was perfect. Very clean and recently updated so everything newer. Clean, comfortable beds. Quiet hour from 9 pm to 9 am makes such a peaceful place. Karl the host is responsive and accommodating. House is large and we loved the sunroom and outside sitting area. Has all utensils and everything you need. Plenty of kayaks and nice dock with bench. We caught many fish right off the dock. We will definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed the property. It is a nicely updated home and well-appointed, with everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. Unfortunately it rained all weekend so we couldn't enjoy the outdoors, but the fire pit and kayaks looked very inviting and looking out over the lake from the bright front room was so peaceful. Communication with Karl was easy and he was very responsive. Highly recommend!

The Lakehouse was a lovely place! We enjoyed sitting outside relaxing by the water. It is a peaceful and quiet place with lots of amenities. We did some swimming and used the kayaks which were fun. We played games and did a puzzle inside when it got too hot, as we were there during the heat wave. The weather brought us a nasty storm which we had to cut our trip short due to the area losing power. The owner was very accommodating and understanding as we had to check-out earlier than planned. We did enjoy the time we were there and definitely would stay there again!

We Enjoyed the property very much. Nicely updated home with everything you need to enjoy the lake and the outdoors. Great dock fishing and fire pit with wood available on site.

Peaceful Stay on Pickerel Lake

The house was clean and well-appointed with plenty of items to use to enjoy the lake. We loved sitting by the fire pit and looking out over the lake and at the stars. Communication with the host was easy. We would stay there again when in the area!

My family of 6 adults/young adults really enjoyed our 1 week stay. The lake is smaller than I was expecting but just perfect for our wants - peaceful, quiet, and calm waters perfect for fishing, swimming, canoeing and paddle boarding (we brought our own). There were other small boats and water skiers on the water but not very busy at all. The dock with umbrella for shade was perfect for fishing or having my morning coffee. We enjoyed making s’mores at the fire pit and took advantage of the covered deck to still be outside when the sun was too hot and even when it rained, a favorite family hang out spot. For evening downtime the sofa is incredibly large with plenty of room for all on movie night. The house is nicely updated, plenty of space for all of us, linens and towels were soft and fresh, the whole house was very clean and fresh. And there is a water view from almost every room. This house definitely ranks within the top 5 of all the places we have rented in the last 20 years.

Girls Getaway

This property was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The house was updated, clean and very charming. Karl was very responsive he was easy to reach for questions!

Weekend Getaway

We loved the property! It is set up to be very comfortable for us as an adult group, but also for people traveling with children. The views and outdoor space were so relaxing. Large rainhead shower, and other amenities were well chosen with a variety of seating and lounging areas. We would definitely rent here again. BTW - saw a bald eagle circling the lake while sitting in the at the breakfast nook. Super cool

enjoyed our stay!

My family stayed at the cottage in early November during family weekend at Wesleyan University. While the cottage was a half hour drive to Middletown, it was worth it to have a nice spot to land. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to enjoy the lake but it was too chilly for that anyway! I can see that the best time would be during the warmer months but it was still lovely and peaceful and the house was well-equipped. All the instructions were clear and helpful. There are houses right next door on both sides so not much privacy. Also, note, only one shower (a very nice one!) but if you have a larger group, make sure you factor that in.

We gave our son and daughter-in-law and our two grandchildren 2 nights at the lake house for a Christmas gift. We booked it for June and the weather cooperated and was beautiful. They all enjoyed fishing and using the canoe and kayaks. The house was well equipped and spotless, so clean. They were able to get worms at the gas station near by and donuts for themselves at the Dunkin Donuts. They had a fantastic time and they would love to stay there again.......
