Unwind in Saint-Saud-Lacoussière at this enchanting house. With 5 bedrooms including 2 double bedded and 3 twin bedded rooms, guests will have plenty of space to relax. The property also features 2 bathrooms with showers and hair dryers for added convenience. Enjoy your time in Saint-Saud-Lacoussière at our brilliant house.
This house is called Gite ”Merlot” and is authentic countrystyle built. A big house that can accommodate 10persons in 5 bedrooms. The house is approx 125m2 full of comfort, space and style. On the groundfloor a big living room with woodburner, diningtable with 10 seats around it, fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The 5th bedroom is at the Mezzanine.
You enter the house via the glazed garden doors into the bright and large kitchen. Here is everything you need and more. (Coffeemaker, kettle, toaster, cookingstove, oven, microwave, dishwasher etc.)
The living room has sofa's and comfortable seats around the cozy woodburner.
A big garden is surrounding the house, with garden furnitures, seats, diningset and bbq, both in front and backside of the house. On the yard a big swimmingpool is free to use as well.
The house has a rural countryside position in the middle of the green hillside of Dordogne, surrounded by pure nature, forests, fields and vineyards. Roses and sunflowers bloom alongside the paths and roads. There are several fruit-trees on the yard as well to collect fruits when they are ready.
Enjoy dinging outside on the terrace or grass, light up the barbecue and enjoy the most colourfull sunset while zipping from a glass of good french wine.
The sound of many different birds or owls at night in the background create happy and unforgettable holiday-moments and memories.
Any time of the day you can take a refreshing plunge in the pool.
There are sun lounge seats around the pool and on the grass to enjoy the sun.

Wij zijn Remco & Gerralda Gilles , We heten je graag van harte welkom bij ons in Frankrijk. In de zomermaanden wonen we in Frankrijk en je kunt bij ons komen genieten van een verblijf in een typische Franse Gite op ons landgoedje in St Saud Lacoussiere, Vieille Abbaye. Het is onderdeel van het natuurpark Perigord-Limousine en ligt temidden van glooiende heuvels in de Dordogne omringd door bossen, groene weiden, zonnebloemvelden, wijngaarden, meertjes en meanderende riviertjes. Rust en ruimte, vrijheid en comfort!

Dordogne kenmerkt zich door glooiende heuvels, groene weides, prachtige zonnebloemvelden,wijngaarden en uitgestrekte bosgebieden.
Diverse stroompjes en rivieren meanderen door het landschap. Meertjes liggen verspreid in het landschap. Het klimaat zomers is voortreffelijk, zonnig en warm. De bevolking is erg vriendelijk.
Middeleeuwse dorpjes en steden nodigen uit om te bezoeken. Eeuwenoude huizen, kerken en kastelen brengen je terug in de tijd.
O.a.is Brantome, het Venetië van de Dordogne, een bezoek waard. Of Perigueux, een gallo-romaanse stad met z’n gezellige nauwe straatjes in het centrum en historische bouwwerken.
Sarlat, centrum van de Perigord, de gehele binnenstad is een monument op zich.
Bergerac is een middelpunt van de wijncultuur, met ruim 12 appelations.
Stap terug in de tijd en breng een bezoek aan één van de vele grotten met druipsteenformaties, grotwoningen, muurschilderingen etc. Bijvoorbeeld Grottes de Villars, Grotte de Rouffignac, La Roque St Christophe. Kastelen op rotsen gebouwd, op markante plaatsen in het landschap, tegen een bergwand of in een grot…ontdek het leven van de vroegere kasteelheren, ridders en jonkvrouwen.
De natuur in de Dordogne , Perigord, nodigt uit om er op uit te trekken.
Fietsen,mountainbiken over goed aangegeven routes, wandelen door de oneindige bossen. Op veel plekken langs de rivieren kun je kano’s huren, een groot natuurmeer ligt vlakbij de gites, plezier op en in het water.
Ook karten, quadrijden, golfen en paardrijden is in de directe omgeving mogelijk
Rondom ons zijn vele wijnvelden en wijnhuizen waar je wijn ” a la proprieté ” kunt proeven en kopen.
Wekelijkse markten, o.a die van Piegut en Thiviers zijn zeer beroemd. Ook antiek marktjes en brocantes kun je bezoeken.
Dit deel van de Dordogne, Perigord-limousine, staat bekend om zijn Limousine-rund, Foie gras, truffels, kastanjes, noten, Perigord kaas en eendeborst…het staat allemaal op de kaart. Met de ruime selectie aan wijn is culinair genieten compleet.
