Secluded and peaceful cottage with spectacular scenic view. Check-in process was a bit more invasive than any other I have experienced with VRBO but smooth enough. Clean and well appointed. Bedrooms are small. Location worked great for our purposes in riding sections of the Olympic Discovery Trail. Very good experience overall.

Returning to this property, which our family owned for a couple of decades, was a lovely experience. Some welcomed improvements have been made (improved heating, water filtration, a new and functional dishwasher!) and so much of the wonderful charm of the cabin has been maintained. As always, so much of the experience is about the stunning view of the Dungeness Valley as you look toward the towering Olympic Mountains. The occasional deer roaming the property and nearby areas remind you that you're no longer in the city! The kitchen is well-appointed for cooking home meals, which is not always a given for rental properties. This was a wonderful place to gather with dear friends.

very rustic, very clean, plenty of towels and sheets, no A/C, but many fans (for the few days it was not). a small problem with the guest bathroom doorknob. We enjoyed our stay there.

Beautiful views!

Thank you for a great stay. The Writers Retreat is a fantastic escape from the crowds with amazing deck views. From the deck we watched the deer and a bald eagle bringing fish back to the nest. The house is well equipped with everything you need for a night in after a day of hiking. The house is close to the park but far from the crowds. It is not “fancy” but it was perfectly comfortable. There are games, books and even binoculars to watch the animals! Our family of four had a great stay!

Beautiful weekend!

Had a great time it worked well! We wish that it had been more clear that there was no washer or dryer avaliable at the house. But the rest was great!
