Our family enjoyed staying here! Although mainly a place to eat breakfast and suppers we spent all day on the lake. Kitchen was great and grill was good. Youth were a little restless a corn hole game would be a good addition. Thank you!

This spot is in a great location between town and 3-Mile. The house has an excellent view of the river from the big back porch, which was a great way to bookend our days and exchange fish stories. The owner was a very good communicator and always responded quickly to any questions, and gave helpful recommendations when we had hiccups to our trip. The Wi-Fi was good so it was easy to send off any emails and correspond to work or home. We cooked two big meals a day, and although the kitchen could use a couple more items, it met our needs. I recommend this house to anyone heading to Fort Smith for a vacation. Great location, nice and comfortable home, great view, and a responsive and helpful owner.

Our stay at Custer’s Last Cast was nothing short of outstanding. The log home itself is stunning—spacious, beautifully furnished, and exceptionally clean. It has the perfect balance of rustic Montana charm with all the modern comforts you’d want after a long day on the river.The view from the property is absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the Big Horn River in a way that makes every sunrise and sunset feel special. It’s the kind of place where you truly feel connected to the landscape.As for the fishing—this trip exceeded expectations. While we caught fewer fish than in past years, the average size was incredible, with most trout in the 20–22 inch range compared to the 16–18 inch fish we were used to. The quality more than made up for the numbers, and it was easily one of our best fishing trips yet.If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and beautifully situated home base for your Big Horn adventure, this is the place. We’ll absolutely be back!

Five stars for Custer’s Last Cast. Perfect spot for a fishing trip — clean, comfy, and close enough to the river that we briefly believed we had talent. Great deck, great sleep, zero complaints. We’d absolutely stay again.
