Relax on the Shores of Charming Lac McArthur

Hillside Getaway is built against the side of a hill overlooking Lac McArthur. It is a single-floor cottage. As you approach the cottage down the steps and walkway you will enter through a doorway off the side deck.
The cottage has a full kitchen, dining room area and living room. The living room includes a wood-burning fireplace. The wood for the fireplace is provided by us. Down the central hall from the living room there are three bedrooms and a full bathroom/bathtub/shower combination.
The wrap-around deck/balcony is built along the east and lake-facing sides of the cottage. The deck can be accessed through a door in the living room or through the main/side entrance from the kitchen.
On the deck there is a propane BBQ. From the deck you can enjoy a beautiful view of Lac McArthur and the Gatineau HIlls.

Cottage very clean. The location is spectacular. Fireplace, hot tub and beautiful view of the lake and fall colours. Great hiking. Absolutely loved our little getaway!

No complaints. The place was very clean and comfortable. Only thing is there was no paddle boat as shown in the pictures.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hillside Getaway. The cottage is even more wonderful than we hoped for—it’s so beautifully maintained and impressively stocked with everything we could possibly need. From the cozy linens to the well-equipped kitchen and all the little thoughtful touches, you’ve truly thought of everything! It feels like a home away from home, and it’s clear how much care and attention you put into every detail.We’re incredibly grateful for your hospitality and commitment to creating a five-star experience. The views and hot tub were the highlights! We truly made such special memories here, and we can’t wait to be back! Thank you for sharing this lovely getaway with us.

Gorgeous setting, especially in the midst of fall colours! Immaculate, comfortable cottage (aside from dirty dishes, left from previous guests, found in the cupboard)! Good communication, overall, but host did not acknowledge/answer questions asked mid-stay. Very well-stocked kitchen, minus a microwave. Bathroom has no electrical outlet. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely return!

Beautiful winter getaway!

We stayed for 2 nights at Hillside in Feb 2025. This accommodation was the perfect location for a picturesque and relaxing winter getaway. We were able to access the property with ease and found the paths and deck very well cleaned for the winter weather. The inside of the cottage was beautifully decorated with quaint and classic charm. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace each night and enjoyed the view from the deck. It was the perfect place to unplug from the norm and enjoy a thoughtful experience. The hot tub also provided a nice feature to enhance relaxation and enjoy being outdoors in the winter. Overall the accommodations are very cozy, clean and well maintained. We cooked lovely meals in the full kitchen each evening and enjoyed coffee with a view each morning. I highly recommend this property for couples and families alike. I cannot wait to return in the summer months to enjoy the lake experience. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Here you will find the real Quebec cottage experience. Mature maple trees surround the cottage and the views of Lac McArthur are magnificent. Each season brings its own features, from brilliant fall colours to the soft snows of winter to the gentle summer breezes coming off Lac McArthur. And the soft green hues of spring-time have to be seen to be believed!
