Hosted by Catered Stays Rentals, The Roost Houghton Lake, a family-friendly resort with 100 feet of lakefront. Ideal for reunions or special events, our four cabins sleep up to 16 guests. Relax on the dock’s sunbathing platform or at “The Porch,” an elevated space with six rocking chairs. Enjoy activities like paddle boarding, kayaking, cornhole, and shuffleboard, or swim in the sandy-bottom lake. WiFi and TVs in every cabin ensure comfort and convenience. Create unforgettable memories at this unique retreat!

Our lakefront property is home to 4 quaint cabins with rustic décor and "The Porch".

MAIN CABIN - “THE ROOST” is the main cottage with 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed and one with twin bunk up top. Full bathroom and kitchen and a comfortable living room hanging out or game night. A deck off the front is great for outdoor eating for lounging and has a retractable awning. Includes TV (Roku).

CABIN 1 - “THE BIRD HOUSE” has knotty pine, 2 bedrooms with queen bed in one and a double bed in the other, couch, small kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. Includes TV (Roku).

CABIN 2 - “THE BEACH HOUSE” has knotty pine, 2 bedrooms with queen bed in one and a double bed in the other, as well as a twin-size sleeper sofa, a kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. Includes TV (Roku).

CABIN 3 - “THE BOAT HOUSE” has knotty pine, 2 bedrooms with queen beds, a queen-size sleeper sofa, a full kitchen and a Jack-n-Jill bathroom with a shower. Includes TV (Roku).

THE PORCH has 6 padded rocking chairs overlooking the property and the lake. Porch is covered.

GARAGE use is for porch access only.
PARKING is available street side on the stone driveway only.

Great location with large yard, great views, and other amenities provided. The main house and cabins are clean and the host is very responsive to inquiries before and during the stay. We enjoyed the game room and the Roost porch in the evenings. This is a 10 if you can tolerate the sulfur smell with the cabins water and there was air conditioning in at least the main house.

The Roost was perfect for our family gathering! Our daughter was getting married, and we were hosting family at the cabins. Everyone had their own space with the individual cabins. The main cabin is very spacious and has everything you need. The three smaller cabins are adorable and it allowed everyone to have their own space. We all enjoyed the fire pit, that was our favorite place to just sit and enjoy the beautiful lake. The kids enjoyed the game room and shuffleboard, plenty for them to keep entertained. The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating, it really is the perfect setting for a family vacation.

The way the property is set up is super family friendly and pet friendly. We really enjoyed having direct access to the water while also having plenty of space to just enjoy each other on the land. The cabins were beyond our expectations when it came to supplies and extra added items such as beach items, games, sunscreen, kitchen supplies and so much more. The only draw back was the duck and goose droppings which we understand there is not much you can do about that. With younger children wanting to play by the lake this was an issue. Bringing something that could help clean this up when you arrive would be helpful. (Dog pooper scooper for example)

It was Perfect for Our Family!

We had four families with grandkids ages 1.5 to 10, so the number of cottages was perfect. The lake was nice and sandy and shallow for the little kids we had there! They loved playing in the water, kayaking, paddling the water boards and fishing with our boat. We had a lot of things to do there such as shuffleboard (which is actually a lot of fun!), the game room with a foosball table and ping ping table. We played a lot of games! The s'more station was a hit and the hosts were very accommodating. One of the Keurig Coffer Makers broke, and they brought a new one out the same day we let them know!
