The Red Door - Charming 1-bdrm cottage in the very popular Washington corridor!

Stay comfortably in Houston at this 1-bedroom guest quarters. Nestled close to all the action along the Washington corridor i.e. restaurants, bars etc. lots of entertainment venues in walking distance. This property offers WiFi, Good AC, & heating for a pleasant stay. The bedroom is cozy and inviting, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. This is located towards the back of the property. You may still get some of the noise from Washington Street or the bars close by. This location is close in and offers easy access to most inner loop locations! This guest quarters was just completely redone and put on the market. The floors are a little unlevel, but adds charm and is super cute!

For long term stays maid service is not provided. You will have to take sheets to the laundromat yourself. Additional supplies can be purchased at Walmart nearby.

Great stay, awesome location. Property manager Andi and owner Mike are really attentive and on the spot for any situation. I did read the other reviews and have to add that Houston has historic districts - the building next door to this location, for example, has been deemed a historic landmark. In my opinion, complaining about a slope in the floor is like buying an authentic, vintage concert tee from the 80s and then complaining that the colors are faded. Will stay again for sure.

Me and husbands overall experience was great! Cleanliness, it had everything we needed. He even provided extra things we requested, coffee maker, crock pot etc. The area was quick access to all major restaurants, and shopping centers. Michael was a great host and now staying at another property of his.

It needs work. Toilet needs guts kit Paper towels or something would be nice. The dangerous level changes in the floor caused us an accident. I hate to criticize so I hope this can be called a helpful critique. Good luck in the future. The location was perfect for us.

The best secluded stay in the area.

I liked everything about this cottage. It was not only the convenience and location. It was the homey and cozy vibe of the place.Mike and Sarah took good care of us, and that was what we valued the most out of the whole experience.

The house is in a great location and worked well for our stay. Communication was easy, and we appreciated having a comfortable place to use as a base. However, there were several issues that affected the experience. The house had a noticeable humidity/musty smell throughout our stay, and we also saw some moths indoors. The kitchen was not fully equipped: there were no spoons available and only one coffee cup for the entire house. Basic supplies such as dish soap were not provided, and towel service was less frequent than expected. Overall, the property has potential and could be a very pleasant stay with a bit more attention to maintenance, odor control, kitchen supplies, and guest amenities.

unfair overcharge

Place was good for the price. The AC in the bedroom was noisy and stopped intermittently. I am the type of person who leaves a place extra clean. I wiped down bathroom sink, kitchen sink and table. I leave and then 2 hours later I get a $25 charge because I left huge "amounts of vomit in the sink." I did not vomit at all much less I would never vomit in the kitchen sink. I reached and let them know that I did not vomit in the sink and it was clean when I left. After some back and forth, the manager said not to worry and that I was a good customer. The $25 charge stayed and I owe an extra $25 for something I never did. Sad and frustrating.

Bed was comfortable, place smelled a little musty but possibly because the AC unit was leaking. The floors are sloped which was okay for us but if you have mobility issues, something to be mindful of. No outside noise at night which was nice. Nice having a fridge if you need it. Overall, it was an okay stay for a quick night in Houston.
