Enjoy beautiful sunrises and moon rises on the front porch and scenic sunsets from the back sunroom or outdoor on the covered patio,blackout curtains are perfect for good sleeping. Located on a working grain farm, enoy this house featuring 1 King bed, 4 full beds, 3 full bathrooms 2 den areas and multiple eating areas. Some of the amenities included: pool table, outside grill, corn hole boards, coffee and tea pots, hair dryer, showers, and bathtubs. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings and modern comforts. Located 15 minutes from Mammoth Cave, 30 minutes from the Corvette museum in Bowling Green or stay local 5 minutes from pickleball courts, bourbon tasting and many other Cave City and Horse Cave attractions. We had a wonderful stay at this home. Very clean and well stocked with lots of space for our family of five to spread out and relax. We really loved the location too - an easy drive to Mammoth Cave, shops and restaurants yet far enough out for peace and quiet. The views from the back porch are amazing. We will definitely be staying again!

This property was perfect for our 2026 girls trip. Plenty of space both inside and out. Host was fabulous to work with. Would stay here again if in the area.

Home was very clean and spacious! Loved that it was a bit remote yet not far from shops and attractions. Would recommend this place to everyone. Host was wonderful.

As with the other reviews, the home was immaculate - so quiet, the sky was full of stars, pool table and corn hole were highlights for one lazy afternoon. The kitchen had everything we needed and all appliances and utensils were top shelf. The bathrooms were stocked with plenty of comfortable plush towels and who doesn’t want to shower in a lavender tub! We brought a telescope and spent two evenings star and planet gazing on the front porch and back patio area after visiting Mammoth Cave. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We really liked the house and the pool table was great. Clear directions and great scenery. I would like if the kitchen were just a bit better stocked with cooking utensils, oils, basic seasonings, etc. My only negative is that the host fees were far too high for me to consider staying here again. What was advertised as 250 per night came to over 600 per night with the added fees.

Wonderful large older home with all the modern conveniences! We had plenty of room for our family of four to have space away from each other and to also come together. The pool table was a big draw for us as was the covered back patio. Out of Cave City a bit but close enough to everything including Mammoth Cave National Park. Would certainly recommend and hopeful to some day get to go back!

We had the most wonderful stay at the homestead! The proximity to national parks and great food was a welcome surprise. In addition, we loved the quietness of the homestead, such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. If we ever visit Kentucky again, we will definitely be staying here.

You have a beautiful home with plenty of space for everyone! We felt like we were visiting a grandparent from our childhood with the wooden floors and all the cabinets. The sewing table and storage chair full of notions was a very cool touch! Our kids thought the best feature was a toss up between the pool table and the cat. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay!

Great house and great amenities. Back porch was amazing for morning coffee. Had a blast using the pool table and the tvs were really nice for watching football. Really cool location with so many things a short drive away. We had a group of golf dads and would definitely stay here again.

Sheila was a great host and communicator. We really enjoyed our 3 day stay. We particularly enjoyed the space of the home and the privacy and peacefulness of the surrounds. The formal dining room and stocked kitchen came in super handy for Thanksgiving dinner, and the pool table was so much fun. Conveniently located close to Mammoth Caves National Park. We definitely recommend this property if you are planning on being in the area.

Our family loved our stay at this spacious home. We enjoyed the beautiful farm views and watching the sunset from the back patio. We had a blast playing pool in the downstairs rec room. Communication was great and the house was super clean and stocked with all the amenities. This was the perfect property for our family as we explored the Mammoth Cave area.

I have stayed in many air b&bs, but this is probably the best I have stayed in. The bedrooms were spacious and well decorated, my wife loved the kitchen. The ambiance of the place was “we are at home”. If we have the opportunity to return we will definitely check here first.

This property was so awesome!

The property was so big we weren’t on top of each other!very clean and so quaint.my 90 year old aunt lives in a farm house so she felt right at home. We had a family reunion to attend so didn’t spend a lot of days but wish we could have . Thanks so much to host for easy check in!

Lovely property

This house was perfect for our stay in Kentucky. It is spacious, clean, and a fun property for our group. We all especially enjoyed the pool table and the front porch. The location was great for our time exploring the area of Mammoth Cave National Park. Cave City has some delicious restaurants. Shelia was a wonderful host and thought of everything we may need, from popcorn to laundry pods and even restaurant recommendations.

Perfect 'home base' for our Horse Cave, Kentucky visit! This was a lovely home in a quiet, peaceful, and beautiful setting. All our needs were meet, with some fun extras like the pool table. The beds and sectional were super comfy. The two teenage girls even raved on and on about how comfortable their beds were. Sheila was very responsive and provided great recommendations on dining in the area. Hope to go back again in the future and highly recommend!

The house and the property were fantastic. We really enjoyed each person having their own bed and we played pool each night. We visited Mammoth Cave and the Lost River Cave. We loved the added security of Tom Tom the guard cat. The homeowners were responsive to the couple of questions that we had and the information at the house about where to eat and the checking out instructions were very clear. Thanks for a great time.

Comfortable and peaceful

We had a wonderful stay at the Homestead in the Barrens! The house is a very comfortable, and well-furnished. There is a ton of space to spread out. The setting is very quiet and peaceful. The two cautions I would give are 1. we found the property a bit difficult to locate in the dark -- recommend arriving during daylight the first time and 2. cell signal was spotty for us and the house's internet connection did act up on us partway through our stay.

Wow—where do I even begin? This home was absolutely amazing and located in the best possible spot for exploring Mammoth Cave National Park and all the surrounding attractions. The convenience of the location made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable.We had the pleasure of meeting our host, and they were truly lovely, kind people. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of thought into making sure guests feel at home—the house is stocked with every amenity you could need, and everything was immaculately clean with a fresh, welcoming vibe.One major highlight of our trip was discovering Cave City Pizza—hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life (and I don’t say that lightly)!I highly recommend this VRBO to anyone visiting the area. If I ever find myself back in Cave City, Kentucky, I will absolutely be staying at this same home again.

Wonderful family trip to this beautifully cared for home! There was so much room that we didn't have enough time to enjoy all of the space. Spent many mornings and evenings on the patio taking in the views and enjoying visits from TomTom (the very loving barn cat).Beds and living spaces were very comfortable and clean and the pool table was a nightly must do. Lots of great food options at the local establishments and plenty to do for entertainment and day trips.Thanks to Shelia for the great communication and excellent experience. Would highly recommend this house!

Matt and his family were great guests I highly recommend them to other host. They stayed a week and left the property very neat and clean. They were very communicative and friendly. Hope they can return again someday

I stay in a lot of VRBOs due to work and I will say this was one of my absolute favorites. Extremely clean and the house is HUGE!! It sits on peaceful farmland with picturesque views from the covered porch. It was stocked with everything thing you can imagine! Pans, coffee, games, and a Barn Cat named Tom Tom that will visit every morning when you have your coffee! Absolutely amazing place and will be staying when I am back in town!!
