One private queen bedroom, tucked farther from the street and ideal for restful sleep.

A separate room with two twin beds, facing bustling Lombard Street—a major six-lane thoroughfare that can be quite loud during the day but generally quiets down after 7–8 PM.


Double-glazed windows in the twin room help significantly reduce outside noise when closed.

Amenities include free WiFi, cable TV, and a convenient parking garage located directly beneath the unit. Just steps from The Palace of Fine Arts, Marina Green, and the vibrant cafes and restaurants of Chestnut Street.

This is a Motel property. There is no A/C. The inner circle of the property is beautiful! The owner is very pleasant and helpful. The pictures made the space seem larger than they really were. For us traveling as a family of four with our teenage children this was a tight space. The time we were there the weather was warmer therefore we left the windows to cool the rooms in the evening. This really let in the traffic noise making it difficult to get rest.

The room was very small. The bedroom was very small of course no air-conditioning but the windows did not have a screen so we could at least open them up. Everything around was very convenient. We really liked it in San Francisco Francisco. It was just the room that was too small.

This place was, beautiful, charming, and very well-kept! It's as colorful and filled with flowers as the pictures suggest. The location was convenient for taking public transportation or driving around the city (we did both!). So nice not to have to worry about street parking since our room came with a garage. Also there was a huge selection of restaurants in walking distance, which we took advantage of every evening after spending the day exploring the city. We could come home and get freshened up and then enjoy a late dinner. The Presidio Park is also in easy walking distance for early morning strolls. The garage and rooms were little smaller than we expected, but we were very happy, nonetheless because everything else about the accommodations was above average! Thanks for a great time, Marina!

This is a great value for the price. Be aware that the rooms are mostly filled by the beds themselves so it's a bit tight for luggage. Some minor inconveniences for what is a great deal in San Francisco. The noise of the traffic on Lombard didn't bother us at all but if you are a light sleeper this might not be for you.

Our room faced the busy street, so it was a bit noisy. Didn't get the cute courtyard entrance. Mattress on queen bed could be replaced as it was sinking in the middle. Secure garage was nice.

Adorable room and very clean. Safe grounds and room and responsive staff. Street noise is very high so would ask guests to be given earplugs as it can be disruptive.

Check in process was easy and lots of communication prior to arrival. Unfortunately, the room was terrible. Carpet was filthy and the windows were all open upon arrival. At first I thought it was ok, until i realized the open air was to mask the underlying musty smell in the room. Did I mention the windows were hard to lock and the noise of the street was ridiculously loud. I don't mean a little but to the point I can hear people talking in their cars as they sit at the light waiting their turn. 12am, 2am, 3am and even into 4am until the traffic and noise slowed down. To put it over the edge was the several bugs that were found crawling along the baseboards. Nope, cannot tolerate that! I spoke with the front desk and then the communication stopped. She had no way for me to speak to a manager and help with a solution. I did not feel safe or that the room was clean. The furniture was sticky, TV was 10 years old and barely worked. I would not stay here again.

Perfect oasis with parking

My family had a trip visiting Point Reyes, Sequoia National Park and Yosemite National Park. We wanted an authentic place in San Francisco to park our rental and enjoy a suite for our family of 4. This checked all the boxes. The European style motel was clean and comfortable.

Good proximity to tourist attractions

Although it was great proximity, the location was a bit loud being on a very busy street. The rooms are very small with no space to hang out. (No couch or table like a standard hotel room). The hotel staff was helpful with finding a space for the standard SUV we had rented, as some of the garage spots were too small..

Good Location

We enjoyed our one night stay here at the Marina Motel. Our exact room was right on Lombard St. which is HWY 101 so expect a lot of noise. Even though there were lots of noise, we enjoyed the stay. The room is very small so I would caution staying anymore than a couple nights, especially if you have older kids or more than 2 adults. I'd advise this room to anyone that will not plan on being indoors. The location is great however. It's a short walking distance to The Palace of Fine Arts and many restaurants, market and bars on Chestnut St.

buyer beware: the description reads "entire house" this is a hotel room. (no kitchen)i'm familiar with the way SF properties have been broken into individual condos and i was mistakenly under the impression this would be similar. i paid way too much for what i got. our room was against the street so it was noisy. the only plus:the courtyard is pretty. having a parking garage (too small for some of today's cars)

Great spot for exploring San Francisco

Great location for exploring San Francisco. Super clean with a fantastic staff. I'd have been happy just grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting in the office listening to some of their life stories. The courtyard is a quaint, flower filled reprieve from the urbanness of Lombard.Our room had streetside parking on Lombard Street. Had I been traveling by myself this would have been an adventure in getting into and out of the garage. At least having the fan. This became part of our adventure and part of our story for our stay as we perfected the process. Take note... We were in a Toyota RAV4 and the fit in the garage was snug. If you are driving anything larger you may not be able to use the garage. Definitely check with them when you book. The only challenge we really had with our room, and there is no fix for this, is the lack of seating (except the beds and 1 chair) and a table.We are in San Francisco for 3 and 1/2 days that we packed with as much as we could and still didn't get to everything on our list. Knowing that we will try to go back, we will not hesitate to stay here again.
