Top Spot in a Great City

Fantastic accommodation - large room, comfortable bed, tea/coffee in the room, nice bathroom - that was a short walk to the MRT. Our host was very helpful with good comms prior to arrival. Great food near by. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great stay in quaint room.

This room was on the third level. It was perfect for our stay and close to the people we were visiting. It is a short walk to the Roxbury T Station. I would recommend staying at this location. It was great.

Perfect guest suite in Boston

The room was perfect for our stay in Boston. The room was clean and comfortable. It is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. The owners were responsive to any needs that we had. I would definitely recommend this place. As others have mentioned, if you have mobility issues the narrow spiral staircase can be challenging to carry up luggage.

Great Location

This was the perfect spot, centrally located to all of the activities we had planned in Boston from the Freedom Trail, to Fenway Park, and Sam Adam’s Brewery. Room is cozy but perfect for what we needed. Arrival and departure was wonderfully easy and we did not have a problem finding public parking on side streets in the evenings. Highly recommend!

Great accommodations for us

We really enjoyed our 5 day stay in Boston and in this neighborhood. Everything was just as described and we found it very helpful to use the T (purchased Charlie cards the first day) instead of using Lyft or Uber. Terry was very helpful and accommodating if we had needs or questions. Loved being able to stay in a historic neighborhood instead of a hotel.

Nice Roxbury Spot, Close to all of Boston

This room is super quaint in a beautiful old home. The room has a coffee maker and sink in the room along with your own bathroom. Be aware we stayed in room 3 which is on the 3rd floor, so be able to walk up two flights of a spiral staircase with your luggage. The listing says steps, there are 3 steps to get into the home, but stairs to your room. The hosts were great and we would definitely stay there again.

Good place to stay!

The room was clean and really quiet. Check-in and check-out were easy, with a quick response from the owner. Parking was as described, easy on the street, and it’s also a 5-minute walk from a metro station that will take you anywhere in Boston. P.S. Sorry for the late review. I thought I had made one, but it looks like I forgot. Better late than never, I guess. :)

Clean and Accurate

Room was clean and Accurate to listing. Manager was friendly and welcoming. Also, very helpful with all questions regarding what to do in Boston. Only negative my wife and I had, was being on third floor and carrying luggage up the narrow staircase is very nerve racking because of fear of accidents. The accommodations were very acceptable and will definitely visit again, but would request bottom floor 😁

Just what we were looking for

My wife and I had never been to Boston, and we wanted to stay in an older historical place, just to get the feel of the cities history. This was just what we were looking for. The room was small, but not at all cramped, clean and well kept. Easy remote check-in with Terry, and keyless entry to the building and room was convenient. Easy walking distance to the "T" transit in a nice historic neighborhood. A couple of things to note for older folks- our room was on the third floor, and the 1870's stairway is curved and narrow. Take your time carrying up and down your luggage, and just be careful. Also, the old claw-foot bathtub is higher than most people are used to, so caution there also. Overall a pleasant stay, and very pleased.

Wonderful trip to Boston

The property was very nice for sure! It was a bit away from the downtown. Unfortunately, one of the reasons we took it was because it was right on the orange line subway line because our niece was also on that line in the North End. The orange line closed down for the month, a couple of days before we got there! That made it much more tricky to get around. It was very clean but the one thing that wasn’t, was the ac and it was quite dusty and dirty in the vents. The place is a beautiful historic building with much character and had all the amenities as advertised. We would definitely stay again and hopefully the orange line will be up and running then!

Overall, a pleasant stay

This was our first visit to Boston, and we enjoyed our stay at this property. As noted in previous reviews, it is on the edge of a somewhat sketchy part of town, and people not used to a big city might not appreciate the diversity. That said, the location is fairly central to all, and the T is within easy walking distance. We ended up using Lyft more than the T. Lyft is in my opinion the way to go in this city (sorry carbon footprint), but my wife liked the T for the experience. Back to the apartment. It was a bit small, but cozy, and the windows were surprisingly noise insulated for what looked like older single-pane. AC worked well, bathroom and shower were ok. This place is not good for anybody with any kind of mobility problems for two reasons: getting in and out of the shower, and the stairs to the third floor. No problem for us though. The decor was very eclectic, and we appreciated it. Overall, a pleasant stay, and as advertised, as a good hotel alternative.

La chambre est joliment équipée mais l escalier pour aller au 3 eme étage est tres étroit. Avec de lourdes valises c est compliqué. Ce n était pas indiqué dans le descriptif. De plus le propriétaire ne répond pas au message. Auto check in

HIghland Park

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fort Hill Inn!! This VRBO apartment is in a beautiful, old townhouse and is wonderfully decorated! We had everything we needed - beautiful furnishings, comfortable bed, plenty of space!! Terry was so very helpful and a pleasure to work with! The apartment was a short walk to the T train which made getting around Boston very easy! We loved the Fort Hill Inn and would definitely book again if we return to Boston!!!

Cute place!

Love the property and it gave the real Boston feel! We wanted to stay somewhere that was an older original home. Small room but worth it for just the weekend stay. Air unit seems a bit dirty.

Great apartment and great neighbourhood.

This is a very nice apartment in a safe and diverse neighborhood, conveniently located near a subway stop. The apartment was clean and cozy and check-in was a breeze. It is quite small and there is no "kitchen" per se so cooking a full meal is not possible. But there is a good Somali restaurant on the way to the subway stop, and a small but good mini-market on a side street (one block past the subway stop) with everything you need to stock the mini-fridge for breakfast. On-street parking is a bit tricky because of restrictions one morning per week for street cleaning, but the owner was helpful and accommodating (and replied instantly by text when I asked about it) . I would stay here again.

Comfy Cozy

I highly recommend this location. Terry, the property owner / manager was responsive to any questions we had via phone or text, and had great recommendations on how to get around the city. The property is close to the Orange Line on the subway system, so it is super easy and cheap to get in and around the city without having a car or getting an Uber. Great coffee, very comfortable bed and bedding. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Terry!

Clean room with great location to the T

Highly recommend! My fiance and I were blown away at how nice this place was! There are many features that make this place feel cozy and welcoming. The antiques throughout added a nice charm. We were only a short walk (5 mins) to the Orange Line and a 7-minute walk to Milkweed for breakfast (try their daily muffin). Good luck finding a better deal in the greater Boston area.
