Qué distingue a esta propiedad
At the heart of the Historic District in Downtown Buchanan, 201 East Front Street stands as a testament to the past. Built in 1866 by John D. Ross and Thomas R. Fulton to house their bank, this regal structure was built to replace a three-story brick store block that had been destroyed in the devastating Great Buchanan Fire of October 1862.
The Ross and Fulton Bank, which first occupied this building, was later succeeded by the First National Bank. The historic signage adorning the marble facade of the building serves as a reminder of this era. The First National Bank continued to operate from this location until its closure during the 1929 depression.
Over the years, the building has undergone various transformations but still holds on to so much historic charm and character. It has housed other banks, retail businesses, a stationery shop, restaurants, law offices, and even a recording studio. Today, 201 East Front Street continues to be a vibrant hub of activity at the heart of Buchanan.
