The Slopeside Cabin is the perfect home for your ski or summer mountain vacation! Our lift-adjacent home is located across the street from the Great Western Lift at Brighton Ski Resort. The cabin has a great balance of being very accessible, yet private with mature trees and generous outdoor space. You can ski, hike, and enjoy the majestic scenery right from the front door.

Slopeside has all of the key items on your "must-have" list for a perfect ski vacation! The choice location allows you to quickly run home for lunch or a break and return to the slopes in no time. The close proximity to the ski lifts also affords guests a great view of skiing while relaxing in the living room or on the deck. With 3 bedrooms (6 separate beds- including 1 sofa sleeper) and 2 full bathrooms, Slopeside is an excellent choice for groups of singles as well as 1 or 2 families with kids.

The open and well-equipped kitchen is a wonderful layout for cooking with larger groups. The "chef" can flip pancakes and serve across the bar while taking in the views from the window-lined living room. Both the pool table and ping pong table get equal enjoyment in the course of a weeks' stay and provide hours of entertainment. To top it off, the living room's gas fireplace creates a focal point for those socializing into the late hours of the night.

Slopeside

Great location, comfortable accommodations and well equipped for Cooking (pretty much any appliance you would need), entertainment ( ping pong, darts, sleds) and a receptive host.

Ideal Location in Big Cottonwood!

Tremendous location just steps from the Great Western lift! Kate was super helpful leading up to our stay as well as during our time there, great communication and helpful tips to make our stay even more enjoyable. No need to drive anywhere and sit in traffic, Slopeside was the perfect location for our family to enjoy a stress-free week of skiing and being together. Highly recommend!

Great summer spot!

The cabin was absolutely perfect! Kate was very communicative the whole time and did everything she could to make sure we were taken care of during our stay. The cabin is in a great spot right with multiple hiking trails nearby. Our first hike in the area brought us to 5 moose! The cabin was well stocked and able to support us cooking all of our meals and gave us good separation from the surrounding cabins. Would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a place to stay.

Location is everything-closest single family property to Great Western Express lift and Brighton Center-walk less than 5 minutes to either, no need to endure the Brighton commute/parking chaos Well maintained, well appointed, amazing views from the living area The Novaks are very attentive, gracious and helpful hosts. This is the place to stay if Brighton is your choice for adventure

Great location to ski Brighton.

Kate was a huge help and let me ask a lot of questions. Be prepared and pick up groceries/wine before arrival. Kate helped me find a store that I could preorder and pick up the groceries on the way to the house. We were able to get in a lot of skiing and we had a blast night skiing. There are games at the house and including ping pong and pool.

Snowy Slopeside

For many years, our family joins up with our "other family" after Christmas. The layout is perfect, as the adult children can have their own space downstairs, while the parents can have the upstairs. This is our second stay at Slopeside and absolutely love it. We were fortunate to have a couple of good snow storms which set lots of powder for skiing this year. The property manager is super attentive unlike any other. She thinks of everything. We will be back! :)

Perfect spot to ski or watch the snow come down

We loved our family stay at Slopeside! Brighton is not a built-up area, and we were thrilled to find this convenient (across from the Great Western Lift) yet peaceful location (views of slopes and across the meadow to mountain peaks). Kate was responsive from booking throughout our stay, and helped us so much (we loved placing an online grocery order and picking up on way from the airport; we needed a shuttle from airport to the property midweek for our college son who joined us; we had questions about rental car companies with proper tires for snow; etc.). We rested so well in between skiing Brighton as well as Solitude 5 min away. We played lots of games and ping-pong, cooked while watching the gorgeous views out the giant windows; and had wonderful family time together. Being able to come back to the house for lunch was amazing, and each member of the group could head out to ski or back in to rest according to their own needs, since Slopeside is so close to the slopes. We had days of spring skiing and sitting with a beer on the deck and then very cold weather with a foot of snow over 24 hours and amazing powder to ski in. Amazing long ski season that actually worked for our late spring break.We are already mentally planning our return. We loved Slopeside!

Best Family Vacation Says All

I am not sure what was most wonderful, the 30-40 inches of powder over 3 days of skiing, the amazing games, ping pong and pool we played in the home, the wonderful dinners we could all make together and sit and eat with ample space in a spacious kitchen and dining table for King Arthur, the cleanliness and impeccable organization and layout of the place, walking to the lift for first tracks and popping in for home made lunches, watching the sun rise as the snow falls beside a warming “wood” burning stove at that comes to life with the flick of a switch, or how absolutely amazing these property owners are! The host bent over backwards to be sure there was not a single flaw in what all my kids said was the best skiing days of their lives! If I missed anything, that was awesome too!

Friends Ski Trip - Jan 2021

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was yet another excellent ski trip adventure for our group. Instead of staying in the Park City area as we've done a few times prior we decided to different flavor of Utah skiing by exploring the Cottonwood canyons resorts. The Slopeside Cabin was an absolutely perfect spot for that and Kate was the most excellent host we've had in 10+ years of travels via VRBO. The place was clean and had everything we needed for a great time. The views are amazing and best of all the cabin is the closest property to the lift. After half day of skiing we made it back for lunch and then walked back to the lift to finish up the day.Aside from Brighton we skied Solitude (10 min away) and Snowbird (30+ min away depending on traffic). All were excellent.Slopeside Cabin -- Five Stars!

Comfortable, clean cabin in a wonderful location!

Our family had a great stay at this cabin. The cabin is recently updated with a beautiful kitchen, quality fixtures, comfortable beds, lovely artwork, and loads of amenities. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of cookware, dishes, spices, and paper products. The blankets, sheets, towels, pillows, etc. are all really nice quality. There are even throw blankets for cuddling up on the couches. The two living areas and dining table were perfect for our family of 8 to gather for visiting and playing games. We enjoyed the pool table and ping pong. We had two little ones with us and made good use of the two strap-on highchairs, playpen, and baby gate (for the stairs). The yard with the creek is lovely and we had a visit from a bull moose our last morning. What a treat! We walked to the Silver Lake boardwalk and saw four more moose there. Several hiking trailheads are in walking distance and the cabin, although very close to the ski resort, feels private. The hosts were very easy to communicate with, helpful, and accommodating. We were very pleased with the whole experience.

4th of July weekend

We had the perfect stay! We saw a bunch of moose, a baby deer, we got to experience the Brighton parade, and had a great BBQ with the outdoor speakers! The location and property are unbelievable and we will definitely be back!

Great cabin for a ski vacation

We've stayed in a few properties up at Brighton and this is one of our favorites. It's the closest you can get to the lifts, which was a huge plus for us especially with kids/teens who like to come in and out a lot from the mountain. The cabin itself was super cozy, clean, comfortable, and had great windows so you could take in the views and didn't feel too enclosed. The hosts were incredibly responsive and gracious - you could tell they wanted to make sure we had a great trip.

Home Away From Home

Stop your search, look no further, this is the PERFECT property for your vacation in Brighton! Not enough words to describe this beautiful home - but the key takeaways are: 2 minute walk from lift, perfectly appointed home with full kitchen, laundry, pool table, space for everyone to spread out, cozy, games galore, sound system and AMAZING VIEWS. But, I think what meant the most to me as the organizer was the prompt, gracious and insightful responses I received from the host, Kate Novak. The absolute BEST VRBO experience we have had in our 15 years of travel with a family. We are contemplating a trip for a summer adventure because of the perfect time we had during winter at their HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

Great location and great property in Brighton

Very clean. Across the street from Great Western Lift. Great large capacity boot & glove dryer. Fully equipped kitchen. Great windows and views. Kate communicated often and clearly. Would definitely book again for skiing at Brighton.

Best ski house

Great location 5 min to lifts, well equipped home all appliance's well equipped kitchen. Lots of windows. Great heating system. Big deck with a Weber grill.

One of the top reasons we LOVE Brighton and our Slopeside Cabin (in the winter / spring) is the SNOW! Brighton Resort averages 500 inches of fluffy, dry, powder snow annually and sits in a perfect position at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Other winter perks are: all terrain is accessible by high speed quads, the largest night-skiing operation in Utah, a top quality and highly rated ski and snowboard school, and extensive backcountry access from the resort. The resort is also steeped in mountain history and culture, as Brighton was the was the first ski resort in Utah.

In the summer and fall, Brighton abounds in majestic mountain scenery, wildflowers (summer), fall foliage (fall), recreational opportunities, and the ideal climate.
