Our family had a lovely stay in this villa. It is surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains and nearby villages. The pool was a perfect size and depth for children and adults. The hosts were friendly and helpful. As we arrived quite late the welcome package got us through the night and next morning. Would highly recommend to this villa

Perfect stay

We had a lovely time in the villa, everything was incredibly clean. The location is very remote but if you like it quiet, you are right here. We had a lovely few days and really enjoyed the time in the sun and by the pool.

The setting of the villa and the view are fantastic. House itself is nice and it has all you need. The surrounding area also features nice hikes. Nearby are small, cosy and nice towns with good restaurants and stores for shopping groceries etc. A car is recommended and good to select a proper one. Roads are fine, but steep. If you like a nice and quiet place for yourself, this location is highly recommended.

Nice house in the mountains

We had a lovely stay. The house was as described - it was located in a nice and quiet place in the mountainbike with a view and a pool. Also thanks to Kim for the welcome.

Family get away

We had a lovely week in the mountains. This is a great base for visiting Malaga. We were excited to show our boys the place we stayed on our honeymoon and to make new memories with them there. The amenities are great and there are lots of space. Our hosts were so friendly and we were really pleased thank you!

Perfect escape

Nice property with fantastic view. We enjoyed our stay and the host was nice and welcoming. The only negative was the drive up to the house which took about 25 minutes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Wonderful little house on the mountains

We really enjoyed our 2-week-trip to the mountain sides of Andalucia. The only thing getting used to is that the location is far off and it's at least a 30-minute trip to get to the beach or to bigger supermarkets. The swimming pool is perfect when you're not feeling to drive and just want to relax. All in all it's a really relaxing and idyllic place to enjoy.

Just perfect to escape the stress of everyday life

We spent 3 weeks in this villa and can only say positive things about it. The view is fantastic, the location is very quiet and, above all, undisturbed! If you want to have some quiet days for yourself and your family, this is the right place for you. In addition, the villa was very clean, Kim and Jansen are very courteous and were always available if we had any questions. Thank you for the wonderful time, we can recommend this villa to everyone without reservation.

Kim was very quick at communicating with us before we got there and once we had landed. The villa was everything we had expected and more. The most amazing views, we honestly could have just sat by the pool and looked out all day. Inside the villa Kim and Jansen had put together one of the most thorough area guides Ive ever seen. The kitchen had everything you could need and we even had an anniversary card and a bottle of Asti in the fridge which was a lovely touch. You definitely need a car if you stay here but your only 10 mins from Competa for supermarkets, shops and restaurants and 30 mins from beaches.

Relaxing stay with amazing views

After the winding roads (which take some getting used to as they get steep and narrow) the final stretch of dirt road led us to an amazing view high up over the valley towards the white villages... and there's a small pool (enough for cooling off but rounds rather than lengths!) Kim and Jan were very welcoming and efficient. The property has everything you need (although a bit dated and no wifi and satellite TV limited to mainly German channels)... but for relaxing and reading and admiring the views - hard to beat. Beach a short drive away. Competa too. Truly a tranquil place.

Beautiful place

We had a fantastic break at Casa Tranquila. Loved the drive there (once we were out of Malaga) and the mountain roads. The views from the terrace / pool area were amazing, so we were very content to spend most of our time there. It was nice not having any internet. A ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms didn't work, but Kim and Jensen kindly found us a floor standing fan, which was very effective. It was extremely hot while we were there, so we had long walks before the sun was properly up most days and we were able to explore some of the tracks leading up into the mountains. Thank you for having us - we would love to come again.

Location, location, location.

Lovely property in a very peaceful location with fantastic views from pool and patio area. Access to the villa from track was a little challenging, especially with a small car, (a Fiat 500 was not the best choice for a hire car, but we didn't realise that at the time!) and maybe this could be mentioned in the details. Not insurmountable and we did become used to it over the three weeks we were there. (Eventually we parked just inside the gates). All in all, though, we very much enjoyed our stay and although we only met Kim and Jansen when they met us to take us to Tranquilla, they were very welcoming and approachable.

The photos did not really do the villa justice or the views it also did not fairly describe how difficult the journey up to the villa is. I had anxiety getting there! Not for the faint hearted like me! The hosts were fabulous. The villa was impacably clean...just dated. The aircon didnt cool enough and the fan in the main room sounded so noisy like it was goung to fall off which made it impossible to sleep in that room. If this villa was situated 20 mins closer to ground level i would recommend to all but for now i woyld suggest there is a much clearer and realistic idea of the tracks and winding shear drops involved. We had a small problem with algae in the pool which meant there was 24 hours with no use..however Jan came out the following evening and kindly dealt with this for us.

Relaxing two week holiday

Just spent a brilliant couple of weeks at the villa just outside Canillas de Albaida. Listing is very accurate as villa has everything that you need. The kitchen is fully equipped even including things like spices, oils, salt, sugar etc and a small welcome pack (wine, water, crisps) which makes a big difference in my opinion. The rest of the villa is equally as well kitted out with towels, bedding, sun loungers, parasols, a radio etc. Ceiling fans in every room were very welcome in the extremely hot summer of 2022 as was the aircon in the lounge. There's a small book swap library and a collection of games and jigsaws. There is a telly but can't comment on that as we never turned it on, instead preffering games of cards on the patio as the sun set and the stars came out. Views across the valley to Canillas de Albaida (and Cómpeta beyond) are stunning and the covered porch area out the front was perfectly designed with shade to escape the sun at any time of day should you wish. Pool was a good size and nice and clean. Perfect for a peaceful and relaxing holiday as the place really is out on its own. The two towns nearby have a sufficient amount of small bars, restaurants and supermarkets and the coast is a half hour drive away to access the beaches and bigger towns and larger supermarkets. As other's have mentioned, the driveway is a fun experience but not too challenging, especially as some of the roads in the surrounding area are equally as steep. Anyway are you even using the rental car properly if you don't smell the clutch every once in a while! Kim and Jansen were brilliant, really good communication during the booking process as well as accompanying us to the property on the first day to show us round. Happy to answer any questions we had throughout the stay (really great knowledge of the area) but otherwise they leave guests to themselves. Highly recommended, especially considering the price compared to other properties in the area.

Casa

La casa está en una zona que deberían de comunicar en el anuncio las carretera son cuestas y caminos de tierra no todo los coches pueden ir Hemos estado dos parejas una semana el sitio es tranquilo y paisaje bonito pero la casa no es como la describen está en peor condiciones de hecho una silla de piscina que ya no la pusieron rota se rompió al sentarse y nos han descontado 20 euros de fianza vergonzoso despue de todos los fallos que tiene esa casa desde la luz de la cocina que no funciona a la cisterna del baño pequeño que tuvimos que arreglar

However if any of our prospective guests have read your review i am sure that they have also looked at all the previous ones & realise that something does not ring true. To summarize, just from this web site alone, we have had 17 excellent, 6 very good and now, 1 bad review from you! Could this possibly be a case of "sour grapes" as you were charged 20 euros for a chair that one of your group broke? The owners, management, maintenance & cleaners are the same as they have been for many years so it seems bizarre that things were so bad for you!

La casa esta situada en la montaña, se respira tranquilidad y mucha paz. La casa esta genial, no le falta detalle, la piscina espectacular y unas vistas inmejorables. Repetiremos sin duda.

Sosiego y relax en medio de un paisaje de ensueño

El alojamiento nos ha parecido fabuloso. Tenía todo lo que necesitábamos y además el lugar era maravilloso y las vistas fabulosas. Buscábamos tranquilidad y, desde luego, es el lugar idóneo para ello. La casa tiene todo lo necesario y, además, cuenta con piscina, barbacoa y una terraza bastante grande donde pasamos prácticamente nuestra estancia. Desde ese emplazamiento se pueden hacer excursiones por toda la zona de la Axarquía, e incluso, acercarse a la playa. Nosotros visitamos Nerja y Torrox. Lo único es que al estar apartada es necesario viajar con coche. Y los caminos al ser zona de sierra son de montaña, pero transitables con cualquier tipo de vehículo. No es necesario que sea un vehículo adaptado a montaña. Sí lo que se busca es tranquilidad, relax y naturaleza, es desde luego, el lugar perfecto para ello.

Una semana fantástica

Nuestra estancia fue muy buena. La casa está muy bien equipada y todo en buenas condiciones. Es perfecto para estar tranquilos y disfrutar de unos días de descanso. Esta un poco apartada pero eso te da más privacidad. Las vistas son increibles. Los dueños son encantadores, nos recibieron muy bien, siempre atentos a nuestras necesidades.

Como su nombre indica Casa Tranquila

Antes de nada agradecer a Jansen y a Kim su puntualidad para la recepción y por la botella de champagne de bienvenida. Magnífico emplazamiento y vistas. Ideal para pasar unos dias en familia o con amigos, la casa dispone de todo lo necesario. La piscina de un tamaño adecuado , El agua de la piscina no ha bajado de 24° a mediodía 26° claro está que la estancia ha sido en agosto. En el interior de la casa la temperatura siempre agradable, fuera se agradecen las 3 sombrillas de las que dispone. En resumen: muy aconsejable

Maravillosa casa en plena naturaleza

Hemos estado unos diez días y la estancia ha sido perfecta. La casa está ubicada en un sitio precioso, perfecto para desconectar y descansar. Está equipada con todas las comodidades y muy limpia y cuidada. La piscina es estupenda y las vistas son inmejorables. Seguro que volvemos.
