My first impression wasSylvan Lake Nook was better than the pictures.My next imoression wasOMG...its almost the same layout as my place in Nanton.When I get home I want to take the wall downbetween the kitchen andliving room and put ina coffee bar counter.The features I really liked were1. The vERanda (I ate take out and played my ukulele while the sunset)2. The desk nook3. The laundry in the bathroomI have a few comments forimprovements......a better couch in the living room...a bathtub plug

It was a wonderful weekend, the property was exactly what I expected. It was clean everything we needed was there and it was close to everything we wanted to do.

The property manager, Nomadics, required a video of my face turning side to side. I found this to be very intrusive. This was in addition to a photo of gov’t id. The house was nice but old with a definite old house odor. The air fresheners didn’t quite cut it. Kitchen had the basics with coffee, tea, condiments, much appreciated though we didn’t need them this trip.We had some trouble with batteries which was resolved quickly.

House was great, just what we needed.Scented cleaning products and plug-in air fresheners were too much, gives my wife migraines. We put all that in a cupboard in the bathroom and closed the door while we were there.

Small older house that needs a good curbside facelift. Inside nicely & modernly decorated. Has all required amenities (plenty of utensils, cooking appliances & dishes). Kitchen window was grimy & old. Needs to be replaced by modern functional window. Venetian blind on kitchen window was drawn up & did not function. House cozy & comfy & would recommend. Dealing with booking agent (Nomadics) was a nightmare! Have booked with VRBO several times & had no issues. We are seniors & are not tech savvy. Everything had to be sent via their security portal. At no time did they contact us by phone to assist us. I (being the wife) booked this rental using MY name but provided my husband’s credit card number & info. They questioned this (we have same surname). On day of arrival, would not give us the house entry code until we completed an on-line Credit Card Authorization form even though full payment had been made more than 1 mth before. Spent at least 2.5 hrs going back & forth with them from our hotel lobby trying to sort this out when we had a full day’s drive ahead of us to get to the house in question. Caused us unnecessary stress & anxiety.

I would not recommend this property. Needs to be cleaned and the house had an unpleasant smell. Definitely overpriced for what we got. This place has potential but definitely not there yet. Huge yard for kids and pets. This was definitely disappointing. Also having to pay a steep deposit made me uneasy and though might be a scam. We did get our refund back and host was pleasant to deal with. For the price listed we expected a higher standard of cleanliness. We did have a great time and location was good.
