Crabtree Place: A Relaxing 60s Experience

Crabtree Place is a recently renovated 1960s home in a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood. Coming to recharge? Relax in our family funk lounge or outside on the private patio. If you are here to engage with family and friends, there is plenty of space on the main level or outdoors. Need to work? There is a quiet space for that as well. Take a journey in the style of the 60s with all of today's modern comforts. You will find Crabtree Place to be a space waiting to fill your travel needs. The house is within a 10-minute drive of most of Midland’s activities including Dow Gardens, The Canopy Walk, The Dow Diamond (Great Lakes Loons Baseball), and the Midland Center for the Arts. It is close to the Dow Headquarters and MyMichigan Hospital if you are in town for work. You are only 15 minutes from MBS Airport and within a 20-mile radius of Central Michigan University, Northwood University, and Saginaw Valley State University. Soaring Eagle Casino is a short 30 minute drive away. Everything has been designed around softening your mood and increasing relaxation. The three bedrooms each have a queen-size bed, black-out curtains, and One-Beat chargers. The two bathrooms have basic amenities. Bring family and friends to enjoy indoor and outdoor games together. The game room includes a shuffleboard table and dart board that will help you reconnect with family and friends and perhaps go home with bragging rights. Enjoy corn-hole, Fowling, Kubb-The Viking Wooden Outdoor Lawn Game, Spikeball, Giant Jenga, and more for outdoor fun. Set up your work in a creative space to help generate new ideas. There is a desk provided with high-speed internet throughout the house. So if you prefer working while curled up on the couch or sitting at the desk, you are sure to get it all done. So, whether you need to recharge, engage or create, we have designed Crabtree Place to fill your needs. Your place is waiting. Keyless entry, you will be sent the code before check-in. Guests have access to the whole house, basement, patio, and yard. The washer and dryer are in the basement. Guests do not have access to the garage or a small basement owner area. We live in the neighborhood and would love to meet you if you desire. The check-in process is keyless so you can come and go as you prefer. If you need something, however, we are just a message away. Family-friendly, quiet neighborhood. This is the type of neighborhood where people walk with family and dogs and the kids play together. Midland is a town set up to drive in. There is a local taxi available but don't count on Uber here. We have plenty of parking in the driveway of the property. No parking overnight in the street. Midland also has BIRD scooters. They are available all over town but there are some very close to our place. If you are interested let us know and we will have some available near the house. Crabtree Place is a family-friendly travel experience. We are a non-smoking and pet-free property, with 10 PM outdoor quiet hours (respectable voice levels are acceptable). The house is fully stocked with towels and bedding/pillows all of which have been laundered especially for each guest down to the mattress and pillow protectors and each layer of bedding. You won't need to worry about cuddling up under the blankets and comforters here. They are fresh each time just for you. We provide 2 toilet paper rolls for each bathroom and 1 paper towel roll. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dish soap, and hand soap from a local shop are provided. The kitchen has pots, pans, dishes, a microwave, toaster, blender, wine opener, and a pour-over Chemex coffee carafe with a hot water kettle. We provide Chemex coffee filters, locally roasted coffee, and tea from a locally-owned tea lounge. There are 32" televisions in each bedroom, a 55" TV in the living room, and a 55" TV in the basement funk lounge, each with Roku. PLEASE BRING your logins for your streaming services. Rokus are set up for “guest mode” so you can log in and be automatically logged out at noon on the day of your departure. ROKU has some free options for your watching pleasure if you do not have streaming subscriptions. No local TV service is provided.

This was by far one of the nicest VRBOs I’ve stayed at. From the layout being conducive to family gathering to the little touches and decor, this is a 5 Star stay!

The property is better than advertised. We’re big fans of Mid Century Modern home design, and the home is furnished to match. Julie and Matt got in touch with us before we arrived, and asked if there was anything special we needed. I explained that sometimes I need to sleep sitting up (old age ), and that i was checking into renting a lounger type chair for the 5 weeks we would be there. They told me to hold off and they would see if they could find a used one to buy for our visit. The next day they bought a new chair and when we arrived they set it up. WHAT GREAT HOSTS! They were extremely prompt in returning any inquiries and taking care of things, great communicators. We will definitely rent again if the occasion arises.

Perfect family getaway for all ages!

A lovely home that provides entertainment for small children all the way to elderly. It's easy to access for those with physical challenges and the hosts are there to please. We used the bikes, played the provided board games and they have a beautiful backyard to enjoy too. The decor in the home was so much fun and nostalgic. They really do have everything needed for a "home away from home". I would highly recommend this property!

This property was so neat and tidy, a very comfortable arrangement, and most of all a safe place for my brother and I to stay while his house was being renovated. The owners were always quick to respond to all our requests, and very accommodating. We felt right at home. All the updated facilities and kitchen tools were provided and ready to use as well. I would recommend this to anyone.

A Charming Place in a Charming Place

We loved everything about Crabtree Place. The attention to detail is amazing. We just kept marveling at the cleanliness, the decor, the amenities, and the yard. Julie and Matt are there if you need them. We also loved Midland. It has lots of trails and wonderful restaurants. We were there for a graduation but kept saying we'd love to come back. We highly recommend it!

Crabtree Place was a great weekend getaway. We loved the 60s feel. It has a great vibe. All beds were comfortable and the house clean. We had everything we needed to make meals and found goodies like a popcorn maker to use on the stove. The hosts were responsive and clear with communication. We enjoyed downtown Midland and Dow Gardens on our visit. We did play some games provided by the host. We will happily return the next time we need to be in this area.

Mid Century Modern - very cool

There is so much I could say about “Crabtree”.The decorations and attention to detail for the period, were great. And on top of that it was emaculate. Even though it was chilly, the backyard is a great space to spend time with family and friends.The downtown is quaint and Dow Gardens was a joy to walk through.I have no reservations in recommending this property and in the future if we find ourselves back in midland we will definitely stay here again.

An amazing treasure in the middle of Midland!

We came to Midland to attend a Nike tennis camp for two days and had a beautiful restful stay at the Crabtree house! Being greeted by a warm loaf of sourdough bread and butter was just so warm and welcoming! Outside of the amazing decor and attention to detail throughout the house- fluffy towels, amazing bedding, great kitchen amenities, roasted locally roasted ground coffee, and a fun carafe to make our drip coffee in - created both a warmness and feel of being treated that could not be duplicated in a hotel. These owners also take pride in their garden, and all their plants surrounding the back patio, which made the outside of the home just as equally enjoyable as the inside. Highly recommend anyone coming to this area to stay in this house ! I look forward to bringing my husband and other friends to this home to hang out and hopefully spend some time doing fun things in the area, like more tennis(!) or taking a drive to Saiginaw Bay. Congrats Matt and Julie on creating such a lovely home away from home!
