ISLAND with PRIVATE BEACH "LOON ISLAND"
Discover your own slice of paradise on our secluded private island, nestled in the foot hills of the Adirondacks. This one-of-a-kind compound is surrounded by water and accessed by a private sand bottom beach. This rustic lodge and cottage-style retreat is the ultimate getaway for those craving tranquility, nature, and a break from the everyday grind.
Loon Island in Lake Bonaparte was first built by our grand father and is accessible by foot from the mainland over a short stretch of beach and board walk. Rent the entire Island for a week for the ultimate Island experience.
Cabins on this 3-acre Island are evenly spaced between the pine trees and assessable by groomed paths. Kids love running from cabin to cabin as they explore other Island gems such as the tree house, secret cave, hammocks, and our smaller Turtle Island to investigate the turtle hatched eggs.
DESCRIPTION OF CABINS:
The two cabins with full amenities include:
1) Small Cabin that is ideal for 2 or 3 persons with an inside bathroom, bedroom/living room, fully equipped with screened in front porch and; 2) Big Camp, located on the top of the Island, that comfortably sleeps 6 with loft style bedroom, kitchen, dining room, living room with fireplace and an expansive front porch with beautiful lake views. Step back in time with a two room bathhouse next to Big Camp and;
Two additional sleeping cabins located along the shore line of the Island:
3) Nice House with a double bed and sink that used to be an Ice House before the convenience of refrigerators and; 4) Log Cabin with a double bed that was recently
Additionally, there is a small tree house, canoe and paddles, stand up paddle board, rowboat, large private sandy bottom swimming area with a floating dock, and a small boat dock for your use.
Drinking water is carried in only. Tap water is hot and cold and comes directly from the lake.
Guest access
Plenty of free parking on the mainland with carrying in of supplies over a boardwalk and paths. Our island has the privacy of an island but the convenience of not having to arrive by boat due to a narrow strip of land filled in over the last century. The walk to the farthest and largest cabin is about a football field length among the woods, rocks, and roots. The many private paths provide a variety of walks from cabin to cabin. Discover many special locations such as the gazebo, hammocks, and small natural cave.
Other things to note
All of the cabins have been built by our ancestors and contain loads of history. For example the Nice House sleeping cabin was once the Ice House for storing blocks of ice from the lake for their ice chests in the summer. The decor is rustic and original to the cabins and most items have done form of family history. So, if you want to swing back in time to an authentic Adirondack experience this is the place for you!
