This place will literally blow your mind!

I just tried to hack VRBO’s site so that I could give this place more than five stars… Words do not exist to describe how amazing our experience at Alami Villa was… it was our second time to come to Ubud, and being in an entire house separate from the craziness and traffic of the city was perfect. The property is GORGEOUS and the pool is insane… but honestly, the best part of the stay was the staff. Putu and Made were gracious and accommodating, helping with every need and even anticipating things we’d need before we even knew we needed them. They were also shockingly good at being discreet and out of the way, so it didn’t seem like we had anyone there but us. Putu helped arrange a private check for two of the nights we were there, and the food was incredible. The included breakfast every morning was delicious as well. They even left a “happy birthday” message written in flowers on the grass the morning of my birthday and brought a little cake for dinner. Zero question - we’re coming back to Bali just to stay here again. If you’re coming to Ubud, you NEED to stay here!

Best part of month long Indonesia trip

You couldn't ask for a more special place! The villa is built with love and perfection. The staff made it the most enjoyable, relaxing and memorable trip. We are already planning our return stay with my son and his family Thank.you all for taking such great care of my family! We miss you already!

Amazing property & Staff!

Absolutely adored Martha's property! Immaculate and clean with amazing staff. 10/10! The staff also organized a special birthday Balinese Dance showcase for us and its an absolute must! Looking forward to bringing our small group back to the property next year :)

Breathtaking

The stay was Phenomenal!!!! We couldn’t have dreamt of a better stay, host, staff, and treatment in a million years. Very accommodating, We hated to leave. We felt like we were leaving our Balinesian family behind! Sang Putu…..I can’t express how much we appreciate you. We will definitely be back and will ALWAYS stay here. You all have set the standard!!!! We HIGHLY recommend this villa as your vacation destination!

Jungle Paradise

An outstanding property in a lush tropical setting. The outdoor spaces were all wonderful, especially the pool and lounge area near the pool. The bedrooms were exceptionally well appointed with beautiful bathrooms. The house staff was exceptional in their willingness to accommodate our needs for food choices as well as helping with transportation. The house staff was A++! I highly recommend this property for anyone’s vacation needs.

An UBUD Gem!

We decided to travel to UBUD to celebrate my cousins 40th birthday. Alami Villas was where we chose to spend our vacay. All i can say is wow! This villa is absolutely beautiful. I love the open air concept. You can hear the river running and the hummingbirds singing throughout the forest. It is so serene and peaceful. And an occassional rooster lol. I love nature. Each room is spaced out where guest can truly have their own privacy. There was a group of 5 of us. I chose the garden suite. Stunning. Glass allows for a panoramic view of the garden. The shower and tub are situated outside in a private garden. The infinity pool was beautiful with views of the forest. If you love the photos you will be even more in love in person. The guest of honor stayed in the grand master suite. When she entered it was decorated so beautiful with happy birthday in flowers and balloons. The Lawn also said Happy Birthday in flowers. Putu, Maete and the rest of the staff were the absolute best. My flight was delayed and without hesitation they were willing to make adjustments. They greeted us with a smile always, making sure that we had everything that we needed and great suggestions for places to eat, shop and things to do and took us everywhere that we needed to go. Breakfast was amazing. We were addicted to the chocolate chip pancakes. I refused to leave without learning how to make them lol. Now our Bali Family recipe. THANK YOU Martha for everything! We love Alami

Another visit to paradise

This was our 5th visit to Villa Alami and once again it did not disappoint! The property is as stunning as ever and the staff couldn't be more wonderful taking care of our every need. Sang Putu and his team were at our beck and call to make reservations, make suggestions, drive us into Ubud for shopping and eating, drive us to the rice terraces, to a wonderful waterfall, and even to visit a local healer. Breakfast every morning was a delight. You really need to look no further when choosing a villa in Bali. Thank you for sharing it with us once again!!

Wonderful Family Vacation

Great place for family vacation. The staff in Via Alami in Ubud is outpass our expectation. Very friendly, very accesible, one is always there to cater with your needs. We, included children between 3 to 6 yrs loved their specialty breakfast, dragon bowl. They were always there to help with our lunch and dinner too. The view od the gorge from the infinity swimming pool is breathless. The lightings were a bit dark, only small wattage bulbs were used but they were changed immediately the next day we requested for brighter bulbs. Will definitely will recommend to anybody who loves super relaxation and tranquility

Amazing stay in Ubud

The villa is even more stunning in person than in the photos - a combination of modern day amenities (air conditioning in bedrooms / media rooms and wi fi), along with beautiful outdoor common areas where you can hear nature - running river, birds, roosters when you awake. Central to many attractions in Ubud - we particularly enjoyed the cooking class and silver jewelry making class recommended by Putu - the villa manager, as well as trips to the nearby Monkey Forest and Bird Safari. What makes this villa extra special though are the wonderful staff who care for you during your stay - Putu's recommendations for where to eat / things to do were spot on and the remainder of the staff took wonderful care of us - starting with a gourmet breakfast (included in the price) each morning, keeping the villa spotless, and attending to our every need throughout the stay. We have truly never been on a vacation where we felt so well cared for and amongst such wonderful people.

Amazing Villa in Stunning Location

Putu and all the staff made our stay extra special, providing us with recommendations and looking after all our needs. The villa is set in a beautiful river valley, where you feel at one with the nature. Great location for visiting Ubud and the surrounding areas. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Not your average VRBO

This is not your average VRBO. It comes with a staff that ensures you will throughly enjoy your stay. Breakfast is served every morning. Beds are make and every day someone is cleaning the property. We have rented many houses but none have this level of service and cleanliness. You will not be disappointed.

Wonderful villa!

We were a family group of seven that had the good fortune to stay for five nights at Villa Alami. What can I say, that hasn't already been said by everyone in previous reviews. I can only echo how amazing the villa is, how helpful Martha is (she treats you like a friend) and how truly magnificant her team, lead by the amazing Putu, actually are. NOTHING is too much trouble. You will be treated like royalty. I cannot praise them highly enough, they are amazing people who go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best it could possibly be. We packed so much into our short stay including two dance performances by the local villagers, which are definitely not to be missed! We were blown away by the quality of the performances. We had the chef cook for us and had massages at the villa, both experiences were wonderful. We were so sad when it was time to leave this fantastic villa and say goodbye to Sang Putu and his team, the days had flown by in a heartbeat.

We loved our stay at this beautiful property

Other reviews are correct photos don't do it justice. Views are beautiful and the rooms were very clean. The Staff and the house manager were the nicest and very easy to interact with and helped us get organized around all the things we wanted to do in the Ubud area.

Breathtaking Scenery

The Alami Villa exceeded our expectations! The accommodations were fantastic and the views were stunning. We were surrounded by jungle with the sound of the river below. The staff was 5 star as well! They provided for our every need - extra beds, chef services, massages, laundry, Balinese dancers and more! They greeted us every minute with a huge smile on their face. We won’t hesitate to stay here again!!

An absolute oasis

I'm a fussy traveller and I could not fault our stay at the villa. It was so beautiful and tranquil and as everyone says the photos don't do it justice. Putu, Made, Kadek and the rest of the team were so helpful, but also knew when to step back, which is a rare skill. An added bonus is the team can offer local tours that are informative and great value. Exceptional!

We had a wonderful time at Alami Villa, the host and staff were amazing.

Rental process was a breeze, definitely a repeat for our group of friends. Staff was amazing and helpful in every possible way. This property is gorgeous.

better than the pix!

Our party of 10 had an amazing stay in the Villa. Everything was lovely and better than the pix show in the listing. Communication was easy with the owner and Putu, the house manager once we got there. Taxis were arranged along with all day tours and recommendations. The food ordered in was great (it is a bit far from Ubud with the traffic) and the food cooked by the chef who came to the house was even better and well worth the price! All of it was amazing. I really could have stayed there many more days.

The setting for this villa is magical. The staff is the best that I have encountered in Bali.

This is my second trip to this villa. Every detail is important to the staff and they work hard to make sure that every detail is handled professionally. I will be back.

Perfect Ubud Stay

We had the privilege of staying at Alami Villa for 12 nights. The entire team was excellent. Each day we would have one adventure or activity scheduled and then would decide whether to eat out or in for dinner and with the guidance of the Alami staff, we had the perfect combination of high end and low end choices. All were wonderful ways to taste the local flavors. Alami Villa creates magic and over time we all recognized how special it was to be able to experience their hospitality. Highly recommended!

Paradise

My family of 5 stayed at Alami Villa for 5 days. It is hard to add to what other reviewers have said about the villa and location. It is as beautiful as the pictures portray. What the pictures can't also capture is the beauty and peacefulness in other sensory elements like the sounds of the river and the birds and the feel of the warm, humid air mixed with the cool breeze. It is a wonderful place and all the choices that have been made by the owners and staff only enhance the experience of staying there. Communication with the owner prior to our arrival was excellent. She took the time to speak with me and answer some questions we had, which I appreciated. The staff at the villa is also wonderful. As other reviewers have said - they are friendly and helpful and they anticipate what you might need practically before you ask. The property manager offered advice on things we might like to do and he took all of our responses and found us just what we were looking for. I wanted to add an additional comment about the staff. We were traveling with my two teenage daughters and my son, who is 11 and on the autism spectrum. My son loves adventures and seeing new places but can also be easily overwhelmed by new people or unfamiliar situations. When this happens, he needs a little break in order to regroup. This can be tough to communicate to others on his behalf, especially to people trying to help out. Every member of the staff at the villa and especially the property manager blew me away by how sensitive and empathic they were, without any explanation necessary. We were so impressed by and grateful for how expertly and graciously attuned the staff was to their guests. I think this is universally appreciated, but I know it is something that I especially look for with my son and so I wanted to be sure to highlight it. TL;DR We highly recommend Alami Villa! We hope to return someday.

We had such a great time at villa Alami. The villa was beautiful, extremely spacious and in a great location. It was very relaxing, and we absolutely loved our stay. Everything was so smooth with transport, communication and the staff were anazing. Would highly recommend.

The best villa!!

If I could leave 10 stars I would!! Our group of 9 had the most amazing time at the Alami Villa!! The whole staff is amazing and are very attentive. The owners and management was very helpful beforehand through email. Putu was very helpful with planning the activities and transportation around Ubud. One of the highlights was having the local dancers come right to the villa putting on an amazing show and local chefs cooking us dinner, highly recommend. The location was beautiful, the bedrooms are spacious, beds were comfortable, pool was great for the kids the decor was perfect, and breakfast was delicious every morning. I will definitely recommend this villa to anyone who is visiting Ubud. I actually wish we could have stayed longer.

Another incredible stay at Villa Alami

My third visit to Villa Alami once again did not disappoint. It was 2 years ago that I last visited and it has only become more beautiful. It's hard to find the words that give this stunning villa a fitting description. Magnificent and spectacular are close. The staff remains amazing, ready to help with whatever you need but perfectly discreet to give you privacy. Thanks once again to Sang Putu and his team. A 10-15 minute drive puts you in the heart of Ubud with countless restaurants and lots of shopping. Can't say enough good things about Villa Alami...... We will be back for sure!

A little piece of paradise

My five friends and I just left the Villa Alami. All of the photos and information are accurate. The photos cannot adequately capture the tranquility surrounding the villa. You hear the river flowing over the rocks 24 hours per day, the birds in the trees and the roosters next door. The design of the house is perfect for a group allowing privacy but still having great spaces to socialize. Putu and his staff were available at all times and helped plan every activity that we asked for. We had a private performance with the dancers at the villa which was fabulous. The girls even applied makeup and furnished costumes for the evening. Putu arranged a silver marking class for three of the ladies along with transportation. Breakfast was prepared to order every morning. Even though there is not a full time chef, there are menus from excellent restraunts and they will deliver or staff will pick up. We had a chef on the evening of the dance and the food was wonderful. Do not hesitate to rent this villa...you will not regret your decision.

Exceeded our Expectations

I can’t imagine a better place to stay and get the “Bali” experience then a staying at Villa Alami. The staff, Kadek, Made and Komangh are so kind and anticipate all your needs and quietly work in the background to make your vacation incredible. They are here all day, straightening, cleaning and then help with ordering dinner (it is easier and cheaper to order dinner from local restaurants then to cook yourself). Putu arranged many sightseeing trips for us, including a motorbike trip to waterfalls and temples, trips to rice terraces, beach and numerous massages—he is a wealth of information and resources—and does it all with a “yes” attitude and a smile. The villa is perfect for 4 couples; each bedroom is large with an outdoor shower. Our daughter was married at the villa by a local priest and it was an unbelievable beautiful evening with local dancers and an orchestra and a lovely dinner prepared by a chef. The villa, the staff, the wedding and stay exceeded our expectations. In the end we did not want to leave this delightful place.

After years of searching for the perfect location, we finally found Tengkulak Kaja. Just minutes from the center of Ubud, yet nestled on the edge of a quiet village.
The Villa was completed at the end of 2012 and the entry gardens in January 2013.
The infinity pool was added in May 2014.
