The property is located in the country and borders a subdivision with farm fields, horse farms and dairy cows near by. We are less than seven miles to Madison (the Wisconsin State Capitol), DeForest, Sun Prairie and Waunakee. We are 20 minutes away from the Alliant Center, Kohl's Center and Camp Randall. We are close to many excellent bike paths, the Madison Lakes, golf courses, UW and SSM Hospitals, the Palace Movie Theater, Henry Vilas FREE Zoo, Overture Center of performing arts, Casinos, grocery stores and shopping centers. We are about 40 minutes from the Wisconsin Dells Water Parks We offer easy parking right at the front door, a patio and two acres of property to walk around. Easy access from the interstate 90/94/39

We had such a terrific stay that we’ve already rebooked for a future trip! The property was absolutely immaculate, and the attention to detail was 10/10. The beds, pillows, couches, towels, and blankets were all exceptionally high quality. Parking is just steps from the front door, and the location is convenient to all areas of Madison. We can’t say enough good things about our experience. We were also delighted to meet Barb as we were leaving and enjoyed chatting with her—she’s a wonderful host!

The home was gorgeous, clean and the pillows were the best. Since it was a quick trip, we did not get to meet Barb. Really enjoyed it and hope to rebook for next year's horse fair. Felt like home!Rhonda

What a beautifully appointed home in De Forest! We enjoyed staying at this property with our college-age sons over the 4th of July weekend. Barb & Butch were gracious hosts, and we enjoyed talking with them. The home has everything you need and more! It is close to Madison, and we were able to get to places we wanted to go within 15 minutes or so. We enjoyed seeing fireworks over Lake Monona from Yahara Place Park. The next day, we had a lot of fun exploring Madison by bike. We did the Lake Monona loop which was just lovely. We ended at a biergarten with views overlooking the lake. We always looked forward to coming back to the very clean, comfortable & beautiful home in De Forest. The patio overlooking the farms was very relaxing. We highly recommend, and we will be back!! Thank you, Barb & Butch!

We had a wonderful stay at Barb & Butch's beautiful guest house. It is located conveniently close to Madison but is in a quiet suburban area surrounded by a peaceful neighborhood. The house is absolutely spotless and in perfect condition. Kitchen is stocked with coffee, spices and basics and nothing is missing. Full laundry room (we didn't use in our short visit), easy parking, comfortable beds, cable TV, great neighborhood for a stroll with friendly neighbors. Would recommend for your next stay in Madison if you want a spacious get-away that's quiet and comfortable!

This little apartment is great! The location is super convenient. The parking is literally right next to the front door. The furnishings and kitchen supplies are all high quality. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this location.

A Touch of Country is a warm, welcoming and comfortable place. The owners are responsive and very accommodating. And their snow management is great! The location is perfect for accessing Sun Prairie, DeForest and Madison.

Wonderful property. We were in town visiting and hunting family and friends during the Nov deer hunting season. We were there only in the evenings to eat and sleep, but had a wonderful time. Will def come back!

This beautiful home is one of the best VRBO's I've ever stayed in (and I've stayed in quite a few throughout the country). It was the cleanest and neatest home ever! The communication with the hosts was excellent. I wish every VRBO was like this one!! Enjoy your visit to the Madison area in this home.

Excellent property! Very clean, great location, quiet, and a perfect choice if you have limited mobility. Stairless entree with at door parking & step in shower with plenty of safety bars and a seat make this property more comfortable than home. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a location in this area.
