This is a once in a life time experience, do not miss it! However, you must go with the right expectations. First, don’t worry about anything … communication in Panama is not always clear, but the people are so nice, and really work hard to make things work out. I was concerned about eating. This is a remote bungalow, with no road access. You can only arrive via water taxi and it’s a 15 minute ride to the town. When you get to the airport, find a taxi, they will take you to buy groceries. Then go to the Saigon dock and load up the water taxi. Next, you need cash … they don’t take credit cards. Bring plenty, it’s safe and no fear of theft. The property was clean, and comfortable with the most beautiful views I have ever seen. Go snorkeling, go to Zapatilla Beach. I recommend against the dolphin watching, because the guides are really torchering and scaring the dolphins trying to get them to jump out of the water. Food is delicious everywhere. WiFi is excellent. Water is safe enough for cooking and no problems having ice in your drinks. Overall, for a well travelled guest, this is one of the best places I have ever been.

Super Chill

Poli was great with communication. Staying at this house is kinda like living on a boat. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and play in the ocean then this house is for you. It’s a 8 min boat ride to the closest market so bring lots of water with you. You’ll need at least 2 gallons of water a day. You’ll want to brush your teeth and cook with bottled water. The boat ride to Bocas town is 15-20 mins. Bocas town is where you’ll find restaurants, markets, banks, etc. Make sure you bring plenty of cash because you’ll need cash to pay for the water taxis. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and playing in the ocean.

Great stay

Everything was nice . Only thing is the water taxis to the location& back take some time , but this is not their fault, just have to be patient. The villa is beautiful , spacious & peaceful.

Peaceful Island Getaway – Great Stay with Poli!

We had a wonderful experience in Bocas Del Toro! The property was exactly as advertised—peaceful, clean, and perfect for a relaxing escape. Poli was an amazing host: friendly, responsive, and incredibly helpful. The island itself is beautiful and felt very safe, even with our young children (ages 6, 8, and 10). One travel tip: be cautious when booking with AirPanama, as they changed our flight time last-minute, which caused a delay in our arrival. We ended up using Flytrip instead, which provided a much smoother and more exclusive travel experience.Be sure to take Poli’s recommendations for tours, drivers, and shops—they were more reasonably priced and added a lot of value to our trip. Highly recommend this stay for families looking for a safe and memorable adventure!

Almost magical

Short water taxi ride from Saigon dock. Very quiet and relaxing location with stunning sunset views. All the comforts of home(except AC)but cooled off during the evening. Poli was extremely helpful and was always in communication. On site helper Ronald was very helpful and was always around to assist if needed. Few no see ems at night but bug spray helped. We are already considering a future visit with family and use both houses!Thank you Poli and Ronald

Wonderful Sunset

Quiet paradise in Bocas del Toro. Juan was amazing taking us in the water taxi to and from dock and helping with luggage. Restaurants in the area were great. Downside was lots of little biting bugs. Bocas town is a little rough around the edges. Poli was helpful arranging taxis and providing information.

Not for us

Jacob, Poli and Lyo are lovely to work with. Unfortunately this was my family of 3s least favorite party of our vacation. We like to explore and move around and this was much too remote. For someone who wants to get away, read a book, and cook your own meals it would be fine. However, the cousions on the furniture are plastic so it is very hard to get comfortable. Everywhere around the area rains yet this is the only location we experienced the plastic cousions on couches and chairs. Even slip covers would be helpful. Ultimately we used the sheet from one of our beds to cover the inside couch in the day so we didn't stick to it and sat on to of the pillows on the outside couch. The complimentary boat ride to town is a thoughtful touch but is only offered at 11, which is too late to get on any excursions and the complimentary boat ride back to the house is only at 2, which is much too early. Outside of that it is about 75 to pay for a boat ride. There is no access to land. The snorkeling was nice, though it rained a lot.

Absolutely Amazing

We had the absolute best time on our trip. We snorkeled, swam and went kayaking. Poli is a wonderful host and our communication was seamless. The kids agreed it was the best trip ever. We will be back for sure!

Phenomenal!

The property was exactly as advertised, and Poli was attentive to our needs. We visited during the off season and were blown away by the quiet solitude of the property the beautiful water, and the kind and attentive caretaker that chauffeured us around in the boat and ensured we had everything we needed. We'll be reserving this again, hopefully the road work will be completed on Isla Colon when we return (it was a mess)!

Beautiful remote location

Unbelievable view on a more remote island. Excellent if you’re looking to relax away from the crowds and enjoy the beautiful water and view. It requires preparation (bring food and water) but it’s worth it. We spent two days there and it was just right.

Great experience!

We loved staying at Poli's place. The view was amazing! We used the two kayaks that are shared between the two houses. We brought our own snorkling equipment (lots of fish around the house). Before we got to the house, we stopped by Tutty N Fish Seafood market to pick up snapper and shrimp to cook - I brought Old Bay seasoning from home. We also stopped at Duo's Market for gallon jugs of water, and meats, cheese & crackers to make a charcuterie. We brought instant coffee and powdered coffee creamer from home. I had a soft cooler bag and some ice packs that we packed from the mainland to keep groceries cool until we could check in at 2:45pm. One day, we took advantage of the 11am transfer from the house to eat lunch in town. We took a water taxi from Casa Papaya restaurant in Bocas to Red Frog Beach. Then, later taxied to the Firefly restaurant on Isla Bastimentos and was able to get a water taxi back to the house. The windows were open all day and night to allow the breeze through. This was only an issue when the birds in the mangroves and trees were singing very loudly early in the morning (around 3am). Pack earplugs. Do not pack a hair dryer or curling iron - they require too much electricity to use at the house. If you have a battery powered fan, bring it. Bugs were not really an issue when the breeze is flowing through the house. If you love nature, then this is the place for you...plenty of fish, birds singing, beautiful sunsets, ocean breeze.

A boat ride away

The property was as advertised. The property owner was fantastic - ask and she delivers - transportation, drivers - assistance with other properties in Panama City. We three are in our 70s so many of the activities were not used - SCUBA diving. If you want rest, relaxation, beautiful sunrise, sunset, a swim in the cool ocean, this is the place.

What an amazing experience

My girlfriend and i stayed at this amazing house from November 16- November 20th. Our original day to return was November 19th. We loved the place so much that we decided to stay another night. Poli (host) was absolutely helpful with helping us get around the island. The house is very tranquil and we are looking to book the same house in the very near future. This is a place if you want total peace and quiet. We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful water, kayaks, jet skis, and watch the beautiful fish and stingrays from inside of the house with the glass floor. We cooked most of the time and everything worked perfectly. We even had a local dog come hang out with us for a few days. We did not want to leave. The only drawback was that we got bitten by mosquitoes but overall an amazing experience. We did go during the Panama strike so some things were very expensive (cab ride from the Costa Rican border to Admirante where the boat takes you to Bocas). Also during the strike, most boats were not running as much in the evenings due to gas shortage so a one way boat ride (15 minutes to the house) was $70. So we got some groceries and stayed at the house for a couple of days. However Poli does have boat arrangements for free from 11AM-2PM so we did take advantage of that to go see other parts of the island. Great house and great host!! Thank you Poli :)

Awesome view

We had an amazing time! The property was clean and well stocked. The views were amazing, we were able to jump off our porch into the water. The snorkeling was amazing. Pali was absolutely amazing she helped us in every way possible. The most helpful host we have ever had! We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing place

The water is so clear you can watch the fish swim around the deck and through the glass floor in the living space. We loved the place and would definitely consider coming back again.

Beautiful and peaceful island house.

The house is in good condition and feels like home. We loved the views from the deck and spent most of our time there. I loved rocking in the hammock and listening to the waves and feeling the breeze off the ocean. We took a trip to another part of the island to snorkel but we actually saw more fish right under the house. We even had a ray visit several times. During the day we took a short boat ride to Bocas Town for fun but it was nice to have a quiet place to stay at night. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Our Bocas Adventure

This home was a delight to stay in for 10 days. The home was clean, the kitchen well stocked and the appliances easy to use. The snorkeling around the home was fabulous with numerous varieties of colorful fish and corals all around. It was so convenient, some of the best snorkeling we have ever experienced was right around the house. The very best part of our stay, was the wonderful hospitality we received from our host's. They were warm and generous, and offered great suggestions for dinner and transportation in town. This property would be our first choice in renting, when we return to Bocas del Toro. Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable.

Paradise in Bocas Del Toro

We can't say enough great things about this property. Poli and Lyo are great hosts and have created a little piece of paradise minutes from Bocas town. The accommodations were comfortable, clean and quiet. The house is situated right on top of a coral reef with amazingly clear blue water, teaming with sea life. No need to go on a snorkelling trip as the best fish are right under and around the house. We saw sting rays, squid, Angel fish, sea cucumbers, needle fish and huge schools of little green sardines. The glass floor in the living room was really awesome. We had no issues with mosquitos during our stay, but it always a good idea to have bug spray when coming to the tropics. Amazing sunsets every night, viewed from the beautiful, spacious, private deck. Having the complimentary boat ride to town each day was really helpful in getting groceries or just wanting to walk around town for a few hours. We spent 5 nights here and from check-in to check-out, our hosts were there to greet us. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who likes to unwind, relax and basically just chill out. We would highly recommend this property and we hope to be able to come back again soon. Sarah & Mike P

Best stay ever!

Property wad clean and beautiful. Not fancy, but had everything we needed. Caretaker wad great and Poli and Lyo were awesome as well. Poli was very promete with any questions I had or anything I needed. The beds were comfortable and clean. Property is off grid. Solar with generador, and water from cistern. The only bad thing I could say is that the hot wter was tricky to figure out in the shower but that is because we were conserving by taking camp showers. The folks before us had wasted water so we were asked to be careful. Expected with an off-grid house. The caretaker takes you to town at 11 am and picks you up at 2pm every day. If you want to go at different times, Poli has water taxi contactfor you. It cost us about 20 bucks for 4 of us the one day we decided to stay in town later. All in all, if you are looking for tradicional luxury with long hot showers and over the top pampering, this place is not for you. But if you are looking for relaxing family or friend time with snorking right outside and beautiful sunset views like we were, this was perfect for us and we can't wait to go back! Thank you Poli, Lyo and Ernesto. We had the best time!
