Great character place in downtown Algoma. Communication was great. I wouldn't recommend for children as there are lots of fragile decor. Listing is accurate.Heads up to anyone wanting shopping, come early and do that before check-in. We unfortunately found most stores closed by 3 or 4 pm on a weekday and they didn't open early the next day.

We really loved the character of this place! It was a bit warm in the smaller bedroom, and not all windows were able to be opened in the house. But other than that it stayed nice and cool in main area with the window units on. The record player was a perfect addition to our weekend! The main bedroom is HUGE! Many memories were made, and we are grateful to have found such a unique place.

The space was perfect. The moment we arrived, we started listening to records and felt the stress melt away. Its proximity to the water and the offerings of beach gear (sand blankets and chairs) was a wonderful surprise. We could not get the gaming system working. It did offer a cot for another person to sleep on. We were there in early July and were comfortable, but I imagine it could be uncomfortable in the heat of summer. The kitchen was well-equipped! We had a great time! Highly recommend!

This place needs a lot of updates. Dining room light over the table didn’t work but the fan did. Master bedroom good mattress. The second bedroom was like a dungeon very warm needs a new ceiling fan to at least move the air around. Need to update the air conditioning.

Charming, with a lot of character! While the floors were very sloped, the character of the place made up for it. If you want modern stay away, but we loved it!

Spacious and nostalgic, we were pleasantly surprised. Plenty of street parking. Walkable to the lakefront and restaurants. They were also accommodating and allowed us to check out at 12 because my daughter had an online class until 11:30 am. Only thing was the noise from people leaving bars but it’s ok.

The owner was flexible and easy to communicate with about our stay. The location was great and very roomy and clean. I don't want my next comments to detract others and hopefully the owner will not do this again, considering everything else was really good. However my concern which has me hesitant was on check out day we brought our luggage down early to go get coffee and bakery to come back to the place to eat breakfast and use the bathroom. We found it already clean and this was before our 11:00 a.m. checkout time. The owner told our family staying in the apartment, that shares the same hallway, that we left. We hadn't. We didn't text the owner, we didn't see the owner ever, yet somehow he was in our rental prior to the checkout time. Very uncomfortable feeling as if there's cameras or something. I have rented several VRBOs and never ran into this before. I would recommend this property but hope the owner recognizes how uncomfortable this makes renters feel.

Hello! Thank you for the review. I would like to assure our other guests that we DO NOT have cameras in our properties, nor do I understand why you would publicly make such an accusation. I was told that when the cleaners came by and knocked, the door was unlocked, the trash was outside in the hallway, and your luggage was gone, so they assumed you had checked out early. Many of our renters head out early and never communicate that they have done so. Our cleaners only have a short window to clean before the next guests arrive on some days. Have a great day!

Location cannot be beaten. Seemed like a block from everything!It's historic, has everything you need. It is not new and shiny, but provides the essentials. It might be better suited for a guys trip, as girls can be more picky sometimes.Owner is very responsive and nice.Algoma is a great weekend getaway.

My parents in law stayed here with us in a weekend trip up to Door County. We had a lovely vacation in the beautiful, sunny apartment. The chaise lounges in the living room were especially comfy. Even though it is a bit older, everything was clean and neat and tidy. It was perfect for our needs. Algoma is also such a cute town to stay in! There was lots of great food and beautiful small town charm!

Door county beer festival

We were in town for the DC Beer festival. The apartment was clean and they left popcorn for us. They offered a great selection of DVDs to watch, which is what we did after busy days. Wonderful spot and we would definitely come back.

Awesome experience for a weekend getaway or longer

Very spacious and comfortable apartment that met all of our needs! We hope to return and are happy to see there's plenty of room for our 2 kids to join us. Great price for a wonderful apartment. We also appreciate the quick and helpful communication, and helping us find a place for our bikes. Many thanks!

Spacious, cozy. But needs a lot of love and updates, AC is a window unit in one bedroom only and looking into the AC unit it desperately needs to be cleaned. Finding the front door was a little troublesome, needs a sign or something to identify it better. Great communication with the owners. Would stay again in colder months.

Thank you for the honest review! We are addressing some of the needs of the old building next year, including looking into split-unit A/Cs to help cool both apartments better. As for the entrance, I am not sure if you saw it, but I send all renters a pic of the front door from the street to their VRBO inbox with the check-in instructions, as it is a bit difficult to find sometimes. Please come visit us again anytime!

Overall a great place! Only issue we had was there is only ac in one room. The rest of the apartment was way to hot to enjoy. Owners are amazing! Great with communication and replying in a reasonable amount of time.

Our stay was nice but a few things could have made it better. We didn't realize the entire apartment was not air-conditioned. There is a window unit in one of the bedrooms which worked well. And one evening the bar across the street had loud music playing very late into the night. The apartment worked well for us for this last minute trip.
