Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Richie Poe

Eight years ago...
I embarked on a road trip around the Yucatán Peninsula, searching for a new home and the perfect location to open a bed and breakfast. My journey took me through the vibrant cities of Cancún, Tulum, Bacalar, Campeche, Mérida, and the serene Rio Lagartos. While Campeche and Mérida both captured my interest, it was Mérida that truly resonated with me—the city's energy and vibe made it feel like the right place to bring my dream to life.
With nothing but determination...
I developed a concept and culture for my future B&B, dedicating myself to learning everything I could about the business. I dove into research, reading books, staying as a guest at various B&Bs, and meeting with local owners. In Mérida, I connected with two experienced B&B proprietors, soaking up their knowledge about the lifestyle and keys to success.
As the plans took shape...
I began searching for the perfect property and reached out to friends for their support and expertise—all the while experimenting with bread recipes, crafting what would become the signature breads of Los Colores.
After finally raising enough money, I faced the daunting challenge of purchasing a property. Over the course of two years, I attempted to buy five different properties, each attempt proving more difficult than I had anticipated.
Undeterred, I persisted.
My dedication paid off. Today, Los Colores de Mérida stands as a testament to my vision, hard work, and the deep connection I feel to the vibrant culture of Mérida.
My desire to fulfill my dream is only surpassed by my passion to provide genuine and unique experiences to my guests.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
I wanted to be in a residential area of the Historic Center. I chose Colonia Santiago for Los Colores because it is residential but has a variety of cafes. The location is walking distance to the tourist zones.
Qué distingue a esta propiedad
Los Colores is a Tropical Mid-Century Modern house with a lot of outdoor space. There were colorful and interesting details that existed but just needed refinement. There are many spaces for guests to gather or just relax in solitude. The outdoor spaces and tropical gardens host many interesting plants but also lots of tropical birds and butterflies.
