Enjoy the calm and quiet of Bureau County’s farmland at Ruthie’s farmhouse Inn!
Relax while watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee or a cocktail at sunset on the large, wraparound porch. You may be surprised how peaceful life can be with distant neighbors and a large yard to enjoy. No worries about disturbing your neighbors if you choose to play a yard game or socialize outside.
The kitchen is well stocked with everything you will need to entertain a large group or simply prepare family meals. Grind your own coffee in the vintage coffee grinder (coffee beans provided). There is seating for twelve in the dining area, and another table with seating for eight available upon request. During the summer months, there is outdoor seating available as well. There is a new Weber gas grill and a meat market with local meats within a 15 minute drive from the house. Relax in front of a Smart TV in the comforts of the cozy living room; WiFi provided.
This older farmhouse has five private bedrooms with a full bath on each of the two floors. There is one queen bedroom located on the main floor, and four spacious bedrooms upstairs: two queens and two doubles. One of the upstairs bedrooms has an additional set of twin bunk beds and another has a pack-and-play. Comfortable sleeping for 12!
Ruthie’s Farmhouse Inn is in the middle of nowhere but not far from several wonderful small towns, each having great downtown shopping and dining establishments. It is 25 minutes from Princeton, 30 minutes from Dixon, and 35 minutes from LaSalle-Peru. There are several local bar-and-grills within a 15-minute drive from the farmhouse.
Ruthie’s Farmhouse has been in my husband’s family for five generations. Troy and I have recently purchased this farm and renovated the farmhouse with modernized electricity, plumbing, and technology. We have decided to share this home that holds so much family and farm history with anyone looking to enjoy a true farmland experience! We hope you enjoy your stay!

Such a cute place and so well maintained! We appreciated all the little extras the host left for us. Communication was awesome. Everyone loved their stay and I highly recommend this house!!

Home away from home

Property was very charming and relaxing. Host are very thoughtful and home is very well equipped. Sitting on the porch at night watching the stars and fireflies was magical. Beds and bedrooms are very comfortable. We are already planning our next stay here.

This farmhouse has been lovingly updated with a perfect mix of old and new, making it both historically beautiful and modernly functional. The warm welcoming touches--such as cookies, farm fresh eggs, and baskets of toiletries we may have forgotten--made us instantly feel at home. We have already booked this listing for next year's family gathering and plan on making even more great memories together.

Great getaway from the city life.

It was wonderful. Nice and quiet, the owner was very friendly and attentive and the home had everything we could need. Unfortunately we couldn’t take our pets but in a way it gave me a break from them as well lol. Will definitely recommend this place and also will be returning. Only thing missing was a fire pit.

Super Host Kim provided timely and accommodating information. This is my second time staying here definitely will be back. Home is very comfortable the beds and rooms are amazing. We had a small gathering for my friend’s birthday, everyone loved the house asked for info on it. We loved the history of house that is display throughout the house. If you just want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and have a relaxing and mindful time this is the place to stay.

The place was beautiful inside and outside. Everything was very clean and stocked with anything you needed. Was a very peaceful vacation. Close to wal mart or home town stores to get food.

Ruthie's farmhouse was an amazing stay for our whole family. Kim was an excellent host. Her attention to detail was superb. I've never been to vacation rental that thought of everything like Kim did. The house was so tastefully decorated and had a lot of cool history. It is very spacious inside and out. Would recommend staying here, definitely a ten out of ten.
